    Wednesday

Uhhh - that is not good - first the Showdown on Thursday and now Nastar. Looks like we will have to hit up Blue on Thursday night for sure.
  2. With rain causing havoc at BC - Blue might be an option. What time do the gates open Thursday night?
  3. CONGRATS!! To both of you! Excellent pics. I'll share siblets story with Ridge so that he can follow along. COOL!! I like how in the first picture she appears to be smiling and really enjoying it!
  4. Yeah we are. But you know how I lolly gag with getting ready to get on the slopes and it has been my observation that the first lot already 3/4ths filled by 7:30 am. For nothing? Yeah - right, I have seen how much you "work" while you are at "work" you actually tell kids that their parents are jerks or so I was told. Oh - ok you weren't at work, you were on break or maybe it was your day off.... Go to Lot 6 for being customer unfriendly.
  5. Haha.. no offense to Joe and his techniques or training ability, but my last conversation with him on Saturday night about 5pm went something like this... Hi Joe do you have a minute? "I guess so, but I am in a hurry, I need a drink"
  6. Strong possibility - We will be back from Steamboat and that might be another fun race to go to after the Nastar Finals. The USSA stuff ends 5 weeks early comapritively so I believe that Ridge will still want to race so we will see.. THANKS AGAIN TO ALL THE RECREATIONAL RACES WHO KNOW HOW TO KEEP THINGS FUN and keep the season extended! Says you, I was scared to death I thought for sure I was going to wipe out the timing light..
  7. I am all for training and such. My thinking is that CB race team is not a vermont academy. There is very little if no information given to me on what to expect or what to prepare our kids for in training. When I ask questions, I get terse one liners. I just feel strongly that the aspect of keeping it fun is so important to keeping interest. If running some gates is what the kids want, then they should do some of that just to keep them pumped up and happy. Not discouraged and unsure when they finally do hit a real race. This regimine of train train train does nothing to help a kid feel comfortable in a start house staring at something they are unfamiliar with. I am simply saying that I would think that a portion of each day would be taking those drills and actually applying them to a course. Keep in mind that I listen, I watch and observe, then comment. BTW - since this was written, they did and have run some gates each day over the xmas break.

Hi Joe, The nextsnow comp for next weekend, Jan 7th, is that still on?
  9. I tend to disagree, Steven is going to be so disappointed. Keep in mind, he will ski on pavement if I will let him Oh well, see you guys on the 12th!
  10. I wish I was better at quoting, but he has described some interesting things of what he is thinking after he leaves the start house. Here is a picture of him during his fastest run at Park City last year.
  11. the parking lot at beginner lift is empty in the morning. Trust me when I tell you that well over 75% of the vehicles in the lot closest to the lodge are driven by employees. It was refreshing to see the initial comments to my post here on PASR comapred with the board at CB. I really love how the new guy silenced skiforever and others and locked the thread for personal insults against me who in is eyes offered constructive critisism.
  12. For those who know Skierforever might enjoy the change in attitude at CB message board. Read on.. Ha, ha. Looks like the message board has fired up the burners again, and we have perhaps the first person who will test the patience of Ashleigh on the ban button. The new year has given me the power of clairvoyance. I know this person without ever meeting him. He's either from an urban area or a recent transplant to the local area. He's one of those yuppy types with a couple of spoiled brats. He wants to be a big wheel and big deal. All the world should cater to him. He probably drives a brand new, humungous SUV with some of those big black on white destinations stickers on the back. He's the glad hander and back slapper who annoys you within ten seconds after sitting on the lift with you with stories of his magnificent exploits....where he's been, what he's done, and what he has. He's the person who abuses the poor busboy in a restaurant for not kissing his feet. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. His postings have already shown that he has little idea how CB works or how any normal person should act. Yeah, interviewed by CB before. He probably stormed into the office demanding to see somebody in management when security asked him to remove his kid's skis from the lodge or otherwise didn't treat him like the emperor he is. Although I don?t agree with all the posts, I certainly appreciate the guests? that take the time to express themselves in a constructive manner. All posts, whether positive or critical, are signs to me that the guest posting cares greatly about our sport and Ski Camelback. As ?citizens? of the message board, one is allowed to post all comments without the concern of censure from the site administrator? As long as the posts do not attack an individual, use offensive language, or stray (far) from the spirit of the current thread or message board. This thread started with constructive comments that lead to a spirited discussion. The discussion has now turned sour. I appreciate all the interest in posting on this thread, but would like to see a change in tone going forward. I will not delete posts or ban anyone from this thread, but I do suggest that the posts stay on topic, not personal.
  13. I think everyone will understand the conditions. Bear is much farther south and warm weather happens. Its not like its a race course and everyone is concerned about their bases and edges.. So what if the out run is muddy? I thought urban stuff was cool
  14. I don't watch much TV, CNN and TWC for me.. I don't have a preference as to which type of program nor do I believe any one way is the "correct way".
  15. Uhh - we got 4 now... We need a lead on someone to do an evaluation/prospectus of the equipment and staff. I didn't get very far with the County. I don't think Montage is realistically available.
  16. I am adding this to our board since I bet this post might get deleted.. WOW! are you having a rotten New Years? I am sorry for you if you are. Nope, I have thought about the parking issue every time I pulled in (13 times this season). I thought cool, other early birds like me. nope... My post was driven by an employee, like you, who was incorrect about the change in the handicap parking. He felt a need to assert a certain authority for reasons of....? If I am not a unique snowflake of a customer, then what am I to you? A cow to be corraled and shuttled from the back? Is that how you view season pass holders? When in my post did I ever mentioned that I am a season pass holder? When would a CB customer ever deserve a red carpet treatment in your eyes? Apparently, in your eyes, never... Did you know that most people who try a snow sport do not return? I bet you park close to the tube park, tell me why you don't park in the back? A needless hard time by another CB employee? There is NOT a mountain that I have ever arrived at, a half hour before the lifts open, that I haven't been able to park next to. I visited 22 ski resorts last season. http://04/05 stats I think you should edit your post before CB management sees it. I wish no ill will, but man.. CB management has been very uptight in the past about what their employees say to/in the media. Maybe that has changed. There is so much room for improvement, I can see some positive trends. I felt it prudent to bring this up on this board as a suggestion for improvement, prompted by a needless uninformed reprimand from a CB employee. Based on that comment, you must happy for the guest/customer parking to be in the back at any place of business that you go to.. YOU GIVE ME A BREAK! No - they took a fair number of handicap signs down that were left up from the Camel beach days. It opened up some additional parking that wasn't noticed right away. This morning those spots were filled again by what I assume were employees..
  17. Fundamentals are fine, no doubt. I am to new to identify the stereotype I keep seeing. You fit "it" by the way. Maybe by the end of the season I will have my finger on it and be able to describe it. I am still taking it all in..
  18. I think if the snow was brought up to the first seam and then cut with pipe grinder then it would be all right. I dont understand why it wouldn't be any different than the side of a super pipe.
  19. Don't forget to select PASR as your club team!!! I like the way Bode thinks, he is self determined and self motivated. Don't take the snippets you hear about him out of context. Read his book. It is written in detail and it all makes sense to me. A lot of people look cross eyed at him and that is fine. Bode doesn't fit with-in the brain wash regimine that is supposedly the only way to race. I tend to think in big pictures and then break it down to the details if needed. His story is a good one, not one that anyone could model themselves after, but it is in my opinion, enlightening and encouraging to thinking outside the box.
  20. uhhh, friends don't let friends snow blade. Not stylish, not cool. In the words of a newschooler, blades are gay. If you want to be cool, grind your ski boot bottoms flat and ski on those, between drop-ins on a set of twins.
  21. Excellent divisions and prizes! Can a pre-registration be done somehow? It is going to be tough to make the registration in time, since it is a school day.
  22. Hey - you got that from that Bode book, didn't you?!
  23. I think that with the layout of the parking lots at CB it is ridiculous that the upper lot is 3/4ths full with employees vehicles. I get to the slopes at about 7:30 and have taken a hard look at who is coming early, guess who it is.. Gimme a break, the employess should park at the north 40 and be shuttles or walk. Also - what is up with the CB employee who wanted to tell me that I was in a handicap spot. I tried to nicely tell him that the signs were left up from the summer and that they were not handicap spots in the winter. He wanted to get smart and say that the lines were painted blue. I wish I had gotten that guys name tag. He was pissed that I was a paying customer and that I parked closer to the slopes than him.... the way I figured it.
  24. That sucks- what happened?
