Fair enough and well explained. Some wounds run deep as you well know. I had several years of with my local ski club. The race team with-in the club was always recruiting me to run along with them to the various ASRA events, but race schedules never worked out until that PA Council Cup thing, thats when I got slapped and it still stings. BTW - We went to several ISSA events last year. Probably not this year though - we are BOOKED!
  4. Nipples said the same thing. Ridge and I had fresh wax appropriate to the conditions and ripped things up great. The snow was not conducive to scratched up P-Tex bases.. apparently.....
  5. Steven was mumbling something about CB being better than the set-ups at BC last night for what it is worth. However I watched him session 6 different features one right after another. I think he was having an "off night".. seemed to be grumbling about everything.

Over the fricken hill! I know that the PA Council Cup race isnt ASRA - but they don't allow kids to race on teams that is supposed to be a fun rivalry between clubs. I make a correlation between the 2 since they seem so intertwined. I am new to all of this, but that rule, really put a bad taste in my mouth with Ski Clubs in general and the exclusion of kids/families.. Not my scene yet.. Maybe some day. Sorry about the hi jack.. my fault..
  7. You guys ROCK!! Thanks for getting NASTAR opened so early! Wish you had done it last night though. I might suggest for those not registered to go to www.nastar.com and get your registration number a head of time. It makes things go quicker when you register to race that day. Also - create your profile and don't forget to select PASR as your Club team!! Are you still doing Tues and Wed nights the rest of the season?
  8. We were there, My kid was griping about the maintenance and set-ups, but hey he gripes about everything and besides, since he is small what is good for him probably sucks for everyone else. Ridge on the other hand loved the jumps over in the tubing park but he straight lines them. I thought the quality of the snow was great comparitively to CB - I wish they had more vert. It was all good.
  9. OH!!! I know why.. because when you have a 28' inch waist and wear 34 pants its the only way you can keep your pants above your knees!
  10. I changed that weekends' PASR Day at Spring Mountain to Elk Mountain due to a lack of interest in poor old spring and in honor of your presence in PA!!
  11. I would love to car pool. However we will be leaving from the camelback area to head over VERY EARLY - if you can at least get over to me at CB we can go from there. I have room for more for more if they need a ride. We need to leave from CB about 6:30 am..
  12. I'll tell Nips you said good luck - he will need it, there's some talent over there. I added the MC event to our Calendar, thanks for the heads up. If you come across any other events you want to get the word out on. Please let me know.
  13. My gang or at a minimum Nipples and I will be there however, he is in a competition (if they accept his entry)
  14. NIpples is doing the Roundtop Jam that night.
  15. Is he talking about sliding rails you think? I know that the wide stance is part of the modern day racing carve. I thought the gorilla steeze thing was more about holding your hands down low.. aka THall style
  16. Stories like that help me from feeling sheepish about the stage-mom little league Dad syndrome. I think the coaches already view me as a huge pain the arse.. But you know what? It is our money that we spend for our kids, we have a right to question and second guess. Thanks for the story, keep them coming!! I'll try and do the same as the season progresses. You brought up a point that was at the back of my mind. I understand the need for drills and training but, I think that 4 days on the snow without any gates to ski around is too long in an otherwise very short season here at CB. I fitted Stevens old twins to his boots, because he asked to try them out last weekend.... hmmmmm
  17. Got me? what do you think is going on?
  18. That is funny!! I love it , we are now 35 thousand seconds into winter and I already got 9 days skiing in!! That breaks a record for me!
  19. Doug - If you ever come over to CB for the day.. Make sure you message me and let me know when. I want you to ride with me some and my kid nipples and observe the goings on. You will see (at least at CB) why park passes would/will work to the benefit of everyone. The Nastar Courses are a great analogy... COuld you imagine, if they just set up some gates with no start house and everyone just started bombing it!!! Holy cow, if you think this is a vocal group.... Parks are progressing, it won't be long at all before all intermediate and advanced terrain parks are run similar in nature to a recreational race course.

I am for everyone who loves the sport, including those who think some of the snow sports promotors are snake oil salesmen.. The only thing I know about ASRA is it is a mostly adult race league that these middle age ski clubs are into, which I am not
  21. We just meet up say hello, trade some stories, talk about likes and dislikes. Talk about the mountains, meet staff and other members and their home mountain, trade ideas and oh! We ride lifts and take the trails that go down the mountain, some do them fast, some do them back wards and some fall alot and some spin around in circles.. It's all good!
