  1. another great idea!
  2. I gotta really good feeeling about this PASR day. I'll start hitting up the BC crew, there is some mad talent over there and this way they can sample their park. BC is the most progressive park in our area. I'll make sure to bring the banners and scope a section of the cafeteria.
  3. ZONKED!!!! which shop? PM me, you will have them in time! Nipples and I will be there!!

    Ski tune up

Go to the CB shop - for sure. Chat with them a bit, drop them off on a sunday, promise them a tip.. Is it Brian or Mark? Ask for the guy with the titanium in his wrist.. Top shelf.. There was a recent post from skidude on him
  5. Ditto - You absolutely have to get on the first chair and go up and over and back up to the top of Blue sky basin. Don't worry about the bowl thing there are cat walks for easy way down stuff. Seriously don't screw around with the front side. Head as far back as you can and work your way back for lunch at the traverse. We have been there 3 times, the last time was an epic dump, the natural half pipes in powder can easily make you not even notice that your nose has turn white Ridge rates Vail Back bowls as number one...
  6. Nipples loves to give his 2 cents worth, hit him up for lessons - He is usually very enthusiatic about offering advice.
  7. There is also a nextsnow competition that day that Nipples will be in. Should be a lot of fun for us PA people to have a Jersey boy show us around. I believe Ridge will want to come out also. Thanks for stepping up to the plate! We are looking forward to it. Let's get some of the BC Crew out too!
  8. Well said... Watching my kid grow in the park has allowed me to observe the progressions. He was one of those kids who got yelled at for being the park. He couldn't understand then - I tried to explain.. But really, some of the parks we cruised through out west we had no business being in. Now, it is heart wrenching to watch him screaming drop in, drop in, drop in, waiting and waiting start, then stop, start then stop.. Yesterday, I finally saw him say F it and went off big.. a snow boarder gave me the finger when I was telling him to hold up, "some one is dropping in.." I estimate that his skis were 3' from that helmetless disrespectful knuckledraggers' neck.. You should have seem his eyes afterwards. He is the same type that you will hear complaining that he almost got hit.. Make everyone watch a video, make them watch it 10 times. If someone drops in with out looking up or calling it or cutting someone off, sits in the middle of the slope, sits below the landings... it to me is far worse than skiing too fast or skiing between trails the patrols seem some intent on enforcing. PARK PASSES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Any CAT team member? Are there any open races like the one above that a J4 can enter?
  10. Ridge, nipples and I will be rolling in about 6pm Tuesday night, we plan on RT on the 23rd for a rail jam then BC on 24th, then CB for Christmas!
  11. Send em a letter, maybe they will do a clarification, you guys have a great park, you should give it a shot..
  12. What is it with racers, they all lean forward on their poles and stare down at their boots.. How ironic is that CB labels a picture of the race team as noobs getting a lesson?
  13. Thanks for getting those shots! Let me know when they are up or email me a copy. I scheduled MC on the 15th due to a NextSnow competition that day. Metz, if you want to change the day, let me know and I will change the date on the calendar.
  14. I suffer from Chronic headaches when in summit county, Utah and tahoe don't seem to bother me too much.. Everyone tells me its unsafe - but tons of caffeine and or Excedrin works for me. I have been told it has to do with dilation of blood vessels.. I have tried everything (except diamox) - never offered from my primary.....
  15. hahaha , battle of the parks, love it!!!
  16. I dunno man... Your going to make me go cut a cross section of the snow right out side of the house and photograph it. The crust is hard enough to to walk on, stomp it and you fall through to the powder below from last week.
  17. was she the one jumping hand in hand with some guy??? awwwwwww. BTW - Metz the Jersey guy rips the slopes up!! Loves to go fast and loves vokyl karmas tooo! I apologize to everyone for being "off" my game this last week.. Should be back to normal soon..
  18. Welcome!!!
  19. From my observations, the ice is 2-3 inches thick. I could stick my pole tip through it.. They simply need to flip that s**t over.. There hasn't been any thaw other than the freezing rain..
  20. Don't get me wrong... props for mother nature allowing for a great early opening.. Common sense mandates liability.. They would be better served by focusing on grooming to help provide a more positive experience for the inexperienced first day outers.. I saw waaaaaaaay to many people really struggling yesterday. CB is in a position now to make a move to improve things. I understand that the GM there is the stumbling block or least a lot of the info I am getting is pointing back to him..
  21. I don't believe any of that for one moment. It is really neat to watch groomers climbing slopes at night out west - no lights there. Advertisement? At midnight, 2AM, 4AM, 6AM? to who? Those that are up at that time of night are not skiing during the day.. OK, there might be an exception or two. They aren't needed for grooming. The groomers have head lights. As far as snow making goes. the full moon alone the last few nights is plenty to see. The Snowmobiles have lights, whats the matter with those spot lights used for spotting deer. They don't move guns that often. Another waste waste was yesterday at CB, the staff outnumbered guests by 2 to 1 for the first few hours. I saw the number of 800 employed by CB. I would love to see ratios comparitively to other slopes. Naaaaa, I am sorry, there is a huge amount of waste at CB. Hopefully this new guy will take a more objective look at the details. BTW - I haven't noticed any improvement with grooming. Matter of fact. I have been watching with binoculars and if they do groom, it is quick passes, they need to turn the ice over and get it crushed up..... Huge complaint by mid afternoon was that the noobs were horrified by the really slick conditions. Even Ridge and I were doing a HOLY SHIT by 4pm... PARK CREW - It is not a free lift ticket.. Get to freakin work with teaching Smart Style to the noobs, clear jumps, repair the lips... Management, are you out there? You were last weekend, where you yesterday? Just a rant. They may be on a fixed rate per KW - but I seriously doubt that they pay a fixed seasonal fee as evidenced by quite a few CAT generators running to power the compressors and pumps. Then again, maybe the primaries to the site can't handle the surge, but I doubt that too, because of the number of seasonal homes in NorthRidge that run on electric heat pumps. The heat pump in this house frequently kicks on to a 10 kw back up because it can't keep up.
  22. I think it is absolute bullshit how they leave the lights on all night long on their slopes.. please.... don't say it has something to do with the snow making.. Those bulbs, all lit up on all the trails night after night is plain monetarily stupid. EDIT: It is pretty to look at :
  23. Closed on christmas day? who is closed?
  24. 11:30 West Cafeteria in the back by the museum..
