  1. Post your events, there are a good number of people from liberty, roundtop, whitetail and wisp - with new people joining everyday. Welcome to the board! Edited July 28th: What?s New for 2005: Seven Springs Resort By M. Scott Smith, DCSki Editor May 30, 2005 ? Pennsylvania?s Seven Springs Resort plans to spend $100 million on improvements over the next year, adding new real estate developments, a new water park, a new expert slope, and lodge and hotel upgrades. ?These enhancements underscore our commitment to continually improve the quality of the resort for our guests and our employees,? said Scott Bender, president of Seven Springs. He added that the enhancements will create short- and long-term jobs and increase the tax base for the township and local school district. Over the summer, Seven Springs will be enhancing its snowmaking system, unveiling the first phase of its new automated snowmaking system during the 2005-2006 winter season. The resort is cutting a new black diamond trail in the North Face ski area. Seven Springs is purchasing a state-of-the-art half-pipe groomer and plans to unveil new features in its terrain park. Over the next four years, each of the 400 rooms in the resort?s Main Lodge and 10-story hotel will be renovated. According to the resort, the Main Lodge will also receive an extensive makeover with improvements to public spaces. For example, a new cafe will begin brewing Starbucks coffee this summer. Later this year, Seven Springs plans to break ground on a new $10 million outdoor water park, which is scheduled to open during the summer of 2006. Current plans include a lazy river, a zero-entry pool, several chutes and slides, children?s and refreshment areas, and nightly water fountain shows. The 2.5-acre water park will be located at the base of the slopes. New real estate developments are also breaking ground at Seven Springs. Southwind at Lake Tahoe is a $100 million townhome development, and the first phase, offering 54 townhomes, sold out within days in late 2004. 57 units sold in Phase Two will be available for presale in June, 2005; due to a long waiting list, the resort will hold a lottery to select future owners. Townhomes at Southwind will range in size from 1,700 to 2,500 square feet. 16 residential sites remain available as part of Pheasant Run, a gated neighborhood across the street from the Seven Springs main entrance. Pheasant Run homes range from 2,000 to 6,000 square feet.
  2. By your message I assume you are part of a staff at a mountain?
  3. It is still a thought I am toying with. I'll be talking with them after Camelbeach closes.. I have watched the trend of the terrain parks and with that, I think I can guage where it is going. My kid has a lot of fun there and even the racer is encouraged by watching a junior canadian ski team training video that showed their racer encouraged to go into the park. Parks are my focus.
  4. Thanks!! I'll send them a note to let them know, they will be on the calendar. The ASRA events posted the Race Camp and the Nationals have been posted on our calendar - here is a link to the ASRA schedule. http://www.skiracer.com/sched.html
  5. Interesting... CB wants to charge for it, JF had it included, now JFBB is charging for it too.
  6. Thanks for the reference!

  9. he wrote a nice letter - talking about the great conversation he had with you, good job!!
  10. I heard Steezemachine say the same thing last year..
  11. I know what you are saying... Funny, this weekend, I had friends over at my house. When they got there I was out front with my back against the hummer talking to a cop who was well in side that comfort zone. I could tell they didn't want to stop, were afraid to make eye contact, etc etc. The funny thing is, I have watched all these guys "grow up" and now they are drinking and fishing buddies. they are all people too... some just live the "life" from the wrong angle .. IMO
  12. nothing............ funny though now that I think about it .. sparklers flying down the slope.. on the other hand, i guess it's like running with a lollipop in your mouth.
  13. 2. to better help police the park - from and for the obvious etiquette things Obvious etiquette things.. I repeat...... I like to think I know a whole lot about the obvious - If I take job like a rangers job at CB - based on alot of these comments, I will only focus on the obvious.... for what it is worth.
  14. Small world - turns out my neighbor at the beach is ski patrol at Liberty - I just found that out. I don't know her name yet.
  15. What is the matter with someone from the west coming in to manage the park?
  16. nope.. But I can figure it out - USB..
  17. I still have to figure out how to get footage off the camera and onto the computer - we will give it a stab this week.. wed or thurs
  18. WOW!!! Hi Ben.. Sorry - I so disagree. Complacency in park?...... ask my kid if he thinks the park needs "policing" - It could be that the "park" rangers need some policing. educating if you will. First and foremost no sitting on the slopes where you can't be seen from above or are like to get wiped by someone landing switch. Second - call the drop ins - butting in ski lift lines isn't permitted, butting in on terrain park features shouldn't be either.
  19. Why would you say that it is weird that it is for sale?
  20. NIPPLES GAP!!! Hey steeze - we gotta post the video!
  21. I personally like the time steezemachine got repremanded for trying to retrieve a pair of polka dotted boxers that didn't stick in the lingerie tree.
  22. I think all the camps are really good - I haven't heard of one that sucked yet! COC I think still is the best well rounded of the camps.
  23. I plan on posting events as I find them or they are sent to me. Please, as always if you come across something that you feel others would be interested in, then let me know. BTW if any of you are members of clubs and want get the news out.........
