Blue Mountain (PA) Freeride Ski Program - NEW!!
Papasteeze replied to skier150's topic in General Chat
Great Question!! Where can you do inverts in the poconos? -
The boys and I missed it last year - we used to hit whitetail one day and liberty the next. It is a very unique layout - it has plenty of steeps in areas and doesn't get to crowded however, i remember thin spots every time we were there..
-
That would be cool!! You are now the official Mountain Rep until you delegate the responsibility to someone more qualified I have never been there so it is now on the list for next year. Ski999 posts of the park look good!

4m - who owns the ground now? Any idea if it will support condos adjacent to the property?

Is there a Bode fan club of sorts that anyone knows about?
-
What is the asking price? How can that be found out? Who is the contact?

Fantastic Job Atomic and Skifreak! I wish Blue had a Northridge - what is the reasonable travel time between the 2 mountains. With a rising frestyle program, a good race program, and when you consider I don't have a whole lot of confidence with the new mgmt at CB - it just might be worth the while to commmute.. If BC does it again - there is a weeknight season pass for $99 we were at BC last year 9 times. Is there a weekday or night season pass available at Blue that might make economic sense?

They got a video put together that is shows off all the talent and the artristry of the editor and filmer.. There is some real talent over there. On a side note the chat is the park manager Dave Gruber was given the boot. Whats the best way to get him over here on the East? The RT guys will kill me for this post

It's not my place to announce this, but i am going to do it any how. The option5team or is it Roundtopriders? has a video that they put together of their freestyling talent. It is well worth the $10 bucks to see some local freestyling talent in action along with a good soundtrack. Steezemachine is now watching it for the 4th time in 2 days. Must be good!!

The Movie "Speed" - with Rahlves and MIller

Welcome mattressinabox - it's great to have another CB "insider" - On a positive note based on our new "clueless" owner. This might be a great opportunity to get our thoughts and sentiments out there in hopes this business man will listen and learn and put the right people in place to speed CB along. I think that have someone new to the business might be a lot better than someone who knows it all. One of the most progressive guys I have met recently is the GM over at Bear Creek - I know that place is small but.... if only.... I should send him a message.... I thought I would post this in the Ski Area Management Magazine BREAKING NEWS NEWS FORUM Article Title: Camelback Sold 6/24/2005 New Management at Camelback This whole transaction has been very quiet which seems strange. There is also a very large property called NorthRidge that is owned by the Camelback Ski Corporation which leases individual homesites to homeowners. That land should be far more valuable than the resort itself. At last Check the CB Ski Corp, leases land from the state which the comprises the slopes that allow Camelback Ski Corporation to exist. What did the new owners actually buy? Read the Article: Camelback Sold

Blue Mountain (PA) Freeride Ski Program - NEW!!
Papasteeze replied to skier150's topic in General Chat
Send Skier150 an email regarding coaching opportunities, I know that he is very active electronically.. His email is on his profile. -
Uhhhh he definitly looks owned and to top things off he isn't thinking snow either..
-
PSSSSSST - has anyone noticed the reserved table at the top every day? Keep an eye on it. Someone work inside... I can't, I am too obvious.
-
I agree totally... Set up is everything..
-
Here's a thought.. Just what did the new guy buy? The name? The rights to continue operating Camelback Ski Area? I know that North Ridge which is a southern slope is not state land. So who owns that?? I think all of this info on this sale is suspect since it is so vague. Funny now that I think of it - I deal with Real estate attorneys and Sam is doing what he does best.. In 1950, a portion of the state land on the steep north slope of the mountain was leased to Big Pocono Skiing, Inc., for commercial ski development. Later named Camelback Ski Corporation, the facility has been developed into a major ski resort. Cameltop, a restaurant located near the summit of Camelback Mountain is operated by Camelback Ski Area and provides refreshment for park visitors

I got a new set of Line Reactors that have a larger clamp with more pointed ends that worked well for scraping. before these bindings, I too always beat them with a pole..
-
Hey someone patent an aerodynamic scraper edge on top of the toe piece - quick! -would need to be replaceable as it wears down. but.......... not obscure DIN settings, not be too sharp or pointed, but hey how times have you seen someone poking at someone else boots, beating on them with poles, etc etc.. I know some of the snow out in PC last March required me to scrape the boot back and forth over the top of the binding..........
-
awwww man.... c'mon - it's been awhile!
-
CB did contact me from my post. I will be getting back to them in the near future.
-
I really got to get a new digital.. they are so beat, you would think they are rentals. It's funny now that I look at them, I am looking at my boots in whole different light (literally) since it summer. I mean, now I can tell where the pressure points are by the compression of the padding compared to area up by the cuff which is still soft. I can see all kinds of accerated wear both inside and outside by the chafing. I can see plainly that I am still and old school skier by all the edge marks at my ankles. Bent buckles from trying to slam them shut with who knows what (probably frustration) I wonder how long I have had the flex on 2 different settings? Oh - thats why.. it's just rotates and doesn't do a thing. Holy cow, many many miles they must have been through CB's parking lot. Its wonder if my binding even release properly, on that note when was the last time I had a binding check? The rubber on the bottom of the liner is almost solid hot glue. You know - I can get another season outa them! I just some new chit so I got something to complain about!
-
I don't think it is crazy.. If you ask Ridge, he says he "got good from watching other racers".
