  1. hahaha.. Thanks man. Salomon does a great job with who they select to ride for them. They really like the outgoing, yet approachable personalities. so with that, riding with these guys in a local setting makes it all that much better. I just wish they would build some decnt jumps so kids have something to show off on. Rails and boxes are plateauing and chances are that our local kids are as good or better than these pros on the rails.
  2. Here is a comment from a friend who lives in the interior of BC about whistler. I think this describes it. Whistler.. go for the experience of visiting that town, not for the skiing and you won't be disappointed. This is spot on.. From what I know of you and Bob, Steamboat would be perfect.
  3. So who is going? Nips cracked a rib jumping the pipe deck at Hunter, not sure if he is skiing Saturday. The doc put the scare in him about possibly puncturing a lung if he wrecks again.
  4. I guess the SBX trail isn't steep enough to build jumps on? In spite of the name, the jib academy has been more about throwing down on the jumps.
  5. Oh well, I called it. I can hear it now, dude what were we supposed to do? the weather sucks... one medium size table and some jibs. I guess the pipe is getting wiped out by the rain? I have been waiting for this event for a year.
  6. yeah right. only if there are free tickets.
  7. You are kidding or clueless or maybe both. Seriously. Do you know about the Jib Academy and previous winners or set ups at the other stops? What is done is done and I am sure the kids will make the best of it, while grumbling at the same time. Push out and up the snow from the Boarder Cross for this event. Please?
  8. I just got word that there are now 50 registered! Be there by 8:30 am sharp to be split into groups at 9am Don't be late. Lunch is included.
  9. no doubt, I am with you. There are 2 different types of comps out there. The technical ones and the promotional (spin to win) ones.
  10. personal attack
  11. word, those who hate on the huge spins do so because, GENERALLY they can't do them themselves.
  12. you don't really believe that do you? You aren't serious are you? If that is what they told you, then, they are worse off than I thought. Who determined that the jump size was the right size for every one to hit?
  13. Go here for lots of information from the last 2 weeks and last year. http://www.salomonjibacademy.com/others/bl...?cod=jib0708_us This event for park skiers is the one to come out to hang out with Xgames pros, USOpen Finalists and Film celebritites. (Mark Abma, Matt Walker, John Symms, Keri Herman, Michael Clarke, Nick Martini and a few others will be there as well, nips, seany pat, brogan) While it is unfortunate that SNO has not apparently built anything close to what has been at the other stops last year, this should still be a cool event to come to. Its not some autograph session, its a jam, shred session. So far there is about 40 registered, with 90 openings So, if you are 16 and under then register, IT IS FREE! http://registration.mtsports.com/
  14. Those who are talking are still saying that the park still sucked for a comp of that caliber - including those who were hucking the 7's. Where are the competition pics? Does anyone know where we can find some? Does anyone know if they are going to at least try to build something other than beginner stuff for this event? What a shame. Here is a chance for SNO to show what they got. Is there any indication at all that they are going to build anything this week? Here is what was at the Jib Academy at Spirit Mtn MN 2 days ago...
  15. maybe they will take the snow from the SBX course and build something decent to jump for the academy?
  16. I haven't seen any official word that they are going to continue to make snow. Are you saying that they were making snow last weekend?
  17. whores charge money, I do this for free. Anyone have any pictures of any jumps from this weekend?
  18. They will stay open as long as they are selling tickets and have snow to service a top to bottom run. Figure they will probably go to a weekend operation if there aren't ticket sales. SO Spread the word, the sickest time to ride there for park rats will be April. last year they moved the jibs to Bunny's schuss which makes for a long run of jib after jib after jib. and please, don't try an poach it, that crap is what ruins it for everyone when they start considering whether or not to stay open. In other words they don't want to stay open just to chase kids ripping them off. BTW a season pass now is good for the nearly 2 months that is left in the season plus next year. They are $350 and optomistically 9 weekends left till Mayday that equals $20 per trip. $20 is the off season rate if I remember right. So, think about it, if you go to boulder for the rest of the season on the weekends at a rate around $20 per day..... you will be able to ski the entire whole season next year for free!
