  1. you must have looked like you shouldn't have been in the trees. It's a good practice. think about it, a once or twice a season noob gets themselves wrapped around a tree and pretty soon it will be like camelback with chainlink fences and nobody will be allowed in the trees.
  2. cool cool video...
  3. hehehehehehee...
  4. so? did anyone smoke the halfpipe? How was it?
  5. I am a minor.. If you so noticed, Tom...... you would now notice that I was trying to drop a hint since monday.... and Tom... since you are following this board so well..............- you would serve it better to post something of value instead of the crappy little post you just made............ I think that post is what is called trolling.
  6. That is ironic. there are tons of skiers who go to or used to call CB home. Myself, as others have migrated to other mountains and they still check in, albeit disgruntled. would it be better that those who are disatisfied not say anything at all? The complaints are about the way stuff is written. There are no arguments about the facts regarding eyewitness reports of thier operations. BTW - for those who aren't aware this board was created from the CB board, when they weren't allowed to speak "freely". What does that tell you?
  7. put that in your half pipe and smoke it.
  8. nevermind....................... see!? i'm learning
  9. The CMS school and the pipe went hand in hand. Billy Van Gilder of USASA fame is headquartered out of there so I doubt that pipe would go any where. BTW after reviewing this thread - regardless of the quality of the features in Rhodo - the park pass program to the advanced features is the best move any mountain can make.
  10. Link?
  11. so true......... ditto!
  12. Thats wierd. But yeah you got it. it only has 17 views on it. wonder if this link works...
  13. The water and air temp at thier pump house plays a big part. I don't know if they run chillers but I seem to remember a problem with pond temperatures last year?
  14. they gladed Jackfrost skier right of challenge to East mountain. I bet the prevailing winds of this week............
  15. This deserves its own thread. Racing needs more guys like this. Even if you don't race you gotta watch this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxkjrbmu50Q
  16. ahahahahahaa this is awesome. Bode Rocks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxkjrbmu50Q http://skispace.com/
  17. if I would go slower than 80mph I would get better than 12 mpg
  18. naaaa just uh.. welll... nevermind - it will all make sense soon. then again, maybe not.
  19. So yeah the check is in the mail. Gotcha.. Can you get some pics of the graded pipe or is that supposed to be done next week?
  20. put that in your 1/2 pipe and smoke it.
  21. Amazing.. I heard that Zaugg doesn't have any plans to deliver one. Hmmm maybe things have changed in the last couple of weeks?
  22. so put that in your 1/2 pipe and smoke it.
  23. Capable yes, but where do you practice, and there in lies the problem. Its not just as simple as cutting it. Alot of problems with building a quality pipe start from day one when they start blowing it in. the temps change, so does the consistency of the blown snow. Then they don't "farm" it enough or hurriedly don't rough cut it perfect. The key is a perfect subgrade, where they use cats to push up and out and down to form the sides like a stepped pyramid, then the "cutter" goes to work. The problem is the skill to be able to keep it perfectly straight. Then there is the eliptical shape to deal with, it is not a true radius. There are very few cutters in the world who have the experince to cut a perfect competition pipe, let alone a 22' pipe. Can anyone get in there and run the machine? sure, the same way anyone can dig a basement, very few can do it well with out making a mess. To the best of my knowledge all pipes 18' and over are professionally cut. Most mountains bring in the expert cutter to because they simply can't afford to have professional pipe cutters on staff. I believe that all competition pipes are only cut by a couple of people. BTW - I am sort of surprised that these machines aren't using GPS - our dozers control cutting depth from a digitized plan entered into the machines onboard computer. The transponder is attached to the blade which in turn tells the operator up/down - left/right. If you have ever watch a cutter you will see that they bounce a lot, I can imagine that a 22' cutter is just that much more unwieldy. Sno might be able to pull off a pipe this year, but with out grading and the cutter on site, I would say that it is impossible at this point, besides they need to pay for the cutter don't they?
  24. they were in the bar from about 8:30 on
