  2. sounds like it might be time for a visit.
  3. That seems wierd... What? Do the Canadians run your passport and then have access to State records here in the US and then check out your history as you are clearing customs? Since when?
  4. no worries, no need for skating.. is that school on baltimore pike next to the shopping center?
  5. tell me.... we are filming when snow hits and we are actually here. Wanna go? this is the one we have been waiting for snow for.. and this one.... huge bust factor........
  6. hahahaha yeah right... its rather dark here and I have 33 degrees.
  7. word.. he tied for 12th with Sammy Carlson, which was the cut-off at the first stop in Breck
  8. It needs to be steep and deep in order to understand the whole powder thing. Don't concern yourself with skiing powder until after you have done it and decide that you want more. Chances are that you won't experience powder on any western trips other than a few inches of fresh while skiing, unless you are looking for it and venture into off trail black diamond stuff. You can get your first feel for powder during a western trip just by venturing a little bit off a groomed trail after a new snowfall. Chances are you won't like it. edit: Black runs here in the east are similar in pitch to blue runs out west.

  10. uhhhh..... no, no its not...
  11. I was there last march.. if you are going mid week you will have fun, plenty of vert, fast lift. the park is average, however I have no idea of what is there now. it was hard to find a bar there, we ended up at some locals place..
  12. I have gotamas - haven't had the chance to ski any pow. My karmas at 85 at JH convinced me to size up.
  13. This school district allows you to withdrawl kids and re-enroll them. As long as he continues to hold down A's and B's....
  14. can't read Japanese.. so I took the picture from what appears to be the cheapest room Then I went to what appears to be dining. Sushi anyone? Dining area.. There appears to be 5 at this resort. and then after all of that, I found the english site on the resort.. finally. http://www.jkokusai.co.jp/pdf/eng.pdf
  15. $1026 Continental non-stop Newark to Tokyo in 14 hours. That seems like a good price. Before checking into flights, I was told to budget 12-1500 for the flight. The $160 is about $325 because of Double occupancy less 4 meals... I guess that puts the room errrrr closet value around $250 per night. It initially seemed really steep but finding anything else to save maaaaaybe a $100 a night wasn't working and then we would have to buy meals. Plus, all the athletes/media/coaches who are registering through the website are all put into the same area. Do it this way for the first time and know what to do differently the next?
  16. We are staying right at the resort itself. http://www.hgp.co.jp/inf/Z00/hgp/ It's pricey... 15,000 yen per person, per day, includes breakfast and dinner - 2 per room. I don't want to take any chances on anything sketchy, so I am using the competition venues housing, shuttles, etc etc. But yeah, as I learn more about this whole trip, more options should appear.
  17. yeah same story here: but with comments. http://www.examiner.com/a-1776868~Virginia...g_accident.html quoted from NS:
  18. wrong thread....
  19. Basically what the title says. anyone hear about this at Denton?
  20. This is the first time in a long while that I am super stoked to be going on a ski trip. Don't get me wrong, I get stoked, its just this time I feel like a giggly kid! I owe pasr a ski report for sure on this one! edit: OH! I am hoping Sean Jordan is going to go tooo!
  21. Nips and I are headed there for the Nippon Open in lieu of the US Open since they canceled slopestyle. http://nfo.jp/2009/english/ I always thought I would go to South America or New Zealand before Japan - but hey, why not! Flights are cheap now, nonstop out of Newark NJ

  23. The Dew Tour thought Wallisch was out permanently so they gave his spot away. I imagine they will have a spot for him. Don't know for sure. Sean missed the finals by one spot in Breckenridge, he for sure is in the qualifying round. Brogan isn't competing in the Dew Tour.
