Not sure, I don't have confirmation yet. Big Boulder Park Team and a few others along with some filmers.

Perfect set ups is an understatement. I understand that Park Crew uses chainsaws to manicure the picture perfect lips. whaaaat? props! When you compare them to something like CB you are talking about night and day. when you look at the mushy edges at CB in the morning and then head over to BB in the afternoon and see everything pristinly shaped like no one has hit it yet, you know you have arrived!!! Nips has a great idea to duplicate something he was hitting a week ago at steamboat, Billy can help describe it too. Nips is building it out of clay to bring to you guys. I am in contact with some of the park crew out west to get some dimensions. Essentially it is a very large hip that doubles as a step up. No one has this, it is an awesome and yet safe feature. Extremely intimidating looking, but so smooooth.. If you guys are doing the team photo shoot friday, I will also bring tape of what I recorded.

It's baby step compared with the monster machine they have there. They even had extra time this year to plan and execute a decent leap forward.

I have been told several times that Risk Mgmt at CB wants the improperly dressed frostbitten park rats "skidding off the snow instead of dropping out of the sky like meteors" - I have asked numerous times over 2 years whether CB would consider sending the park mgr or groomers to Cutters Camp at Hood in May all to no avail.. Anyone in the know, knows that landing should be between 32-34 degrees not the 20 they have now.. Want to borrow my inclinometer? What baffles me is that CB is the only hill with equipment that can actually groom that grade, yet they choose, for some unknown reason to not implement the resourses they have. Could it be stupidity? Could it be Ignorance? Could it be cause I publicly suggested it numerous times when they were so proud to say they have a winch groomer.... All of the above?

get a park pass to CB - it will be empty.. Not positive where we will be, might do the parking lot jam saturday, shawnee jeep challenge, big boulder big park, thought about checking out sno mountain, midnight madness, photo shoot at BB friday, What we will not do, is CB or Blue. Supposed to get really cold again, I think.............

This is a link to some pictures while we were in steamboat. There are also several shots of Billy Keil, one of nips in the pipe. If anyone doubts our park scene here in PA, consider this. We had 2 kids out of 70 who were invited worldwide, who currently call Big Boulder home represented at this best of the best comp. http://nextsnow.com/steamboat_gallery/moii...in_content.html This is an article explaining the competition. http://www2.steamboatpilot.com/news/2007/f...ext_x/?outdoors

yeah, it is frustrating but I am glad to see them here. They will get up to speed soon enough if they hang in here.

5 visits so far this year. I only got passes for me and nips for the supposed park they were putting in. I figured I would be skiing there more often if he wanted to go there. Read my other posts on why I have such a negative opinion. Frankly - we were ripped off. If CB had the beginner park from BB in the pass only park - they would actually have something worth spending half days at. There is a separate thread about the good things.

nips said he was coming up with some fun variations like that. probably thier best feature although it should probably be over in the beginner park. hahahahaha when, why?

I am not familiar with the one at Northstar. The one that nips was hitting in steamboat is hard to describe because it could be used as a step or you could air it out up and over or you land the flat box or the flat down box on top. it was a quarter pipe shape with the top 10 foot notched out. looked really scary until I saw it being hit. I am sure some photos will crop up soon. In the meanwhile, nips is making a clay model to submit to the park guys hopefully in time for the next cold snap. It would fit perfect where the current battleship is on widow. -
This is the middle or top jump at BB - there are picture from the beginner park that I will have to dig up when I have more time that show. I don't think anyone would argue that if the beginner park at BB was the pass only park at CB - then CB would have a sick park scene and there would be few complaints. You can pull sevens on the jumps in the beginner park at CB - nips told me no way could he or would he try to huck anything other than a three at CB - because you can't.

I have a lot of good things to say about CB - you just haven't read them. Not that I have to explain myself, but I will, my one son races on the CAT team and we had cousins and sister inlaw for thier first ski trip (CB is wonderful for them) so I made some turns saturday morning when I dropped them off and then spent the remainder of the day till 7 pm with my other kid at BB - On Sunday there was a large race that has the CAT team parents obligated to help run and my kid was also racing so that put at is at CB for the day. MY biggest gripe is the poor quality of the park features. Understand that my invovlement with the park scene was the same last year as it is this year and if there had not been so many representations from so many CB people, I would not be this vocal. The sad thing is that numerous long term patrons warned me not to believe it last year and they were right. The CB employees were and continue to be wrong about most things park this year. I mean consider this; The CMS/CBh2O wants parents to pay for coaches to travel to comps with thier kids. hahahahahaha after paying for them to learn and train on CB features, they are going to go to a comp at another mountain prepared? hahhhahahahaaaa That park is a huge diservice to the freestyle coaches and the training school.

uh... thats funny...... cause every park rat I have rode with on the lift this weekend at CB said if they had a choice they would not be there. Look me up and ride with my kid - or better yet, the next time we ride CB in the morning and BB in the afternoon I will buy your lift ticket and give you transportation from CB to BB and back. What works for you next weekend? In other words, The jumps in the beginner park at BB are better than the Jumps in the expert park in Rhodo. Because, All of last year I was told to wait for this year, and now this year is here and it is painfully apparent that CB does not know how or does not care about the quality of thier park features in comparison to other hills. I ride at CB when I have to - I was there both Saturday -1/2 day and Sunday - all day. I would be there more frequently if they had done what they had me believe that they were going to do. This picture alone and the fact that is posted on thier website tells me that they are clueless.

I have nothing nice to say. .. I do have a question though. Why is there no drop in for your new pipe? It is already short at 300' - Obviously the pipe was built to plans, why was the drop in left out? It shortens an already short pipe. Are there plans to build the walls back up, also it seems now that the snow needs to be farmed differently to steepen it up. The long flat rail has too flat of a landing at the end of it. I wish I had a camera with me to take pictures of the flat down and how dangerous it was saturday. (it was corrected for Sunday)

Some one needs to build a step up, now that would be new.. Submitting designs to BB............................. -
Ridge did ok I guess, fell his first run and stopped to take a leak in the middle of the second run. Nips entertained the noobs on the quarterpipe above the sunbowl lodge. Kelly Rowland for the J4's is a girl to watch, she is as fast as the best boys.

no news can't be good news.

-
Ok, I am expecting some on the 22nd.... wooooo hoooo!! we are going to get some!
-
you were too polite.

WOW!! CB............... nobody wants a park pass to a park that sucks. Get a frickin clue! I will try to get some pictures to post of just how lame some of the set ups are. What a shame. WHO the hell manages that park and the setups? Park crew says it is the groomers who do set the lips and landings and that they are not allowed to touch anything. God....... are you guys really this inept? Every single person that I ran up with that was in that park was disappointed.. every one! 5 of them to be exact. What an expensive farce. Next time you want to piss away money like that, throw some this way. Please get a clue.

We just got back from steamboat and the quality of snow is phenonemal at JFBB, I will say with conviction that it is comparible. Believe it!.. deal with the ruts, whiny baby... BTW - it held up suprisingly well for the j4'S 2 weeks ago.

You won't be disappointed, for example, the second jump in the big park is all sky and lake in the background. Everything is set up very nice. You should probably scout the mountain to save time later.
