  1. JFBB has more firepower per square acre than Blue or CB. if blue or CB invested in thier snowmaking at the same ratio as JFBB then they would be able produce the same results. doesn't matter if it is 50 acres or 500 acres. the fact of the matter is that they are more interested in coverage quickly than the other resorts. exception: BC
  2. nips will be there - bright green pants - red jacket, ridge is racing - blue spyder speed suit and I am tending gates.
  3. here is another parking lot jam that was in boston - nips eats it at the end. http://media.putfile.com/Ski-Market-Rail-Jam
  4. hhahahahahahahahahaaahahahahahahaaaa - they better blow some more snow. If that is even faintly true, they will announce a later than usual closure early and then close early blaming the weather for melting the snow.
  5. By Saturday night they should have everything reworked and in pristine shape for your arrival. This is the Friday night report (second hand)
  6. when is it? I don't see it on the calendar.... a little bit of harshness.... you guys are slipping on getting the "word" out...
  7. Excellent! nips brother has a race , I am tending gates and we have family friends in town. Wish we could make it. sounds like fun!
  8. c'mon... you can do better than that!
  9. Nips will be sampling the park tonight - the only word I got is that the pipes have been recut. It's weird that there has been little comment on the CB parks as of late. Hope it doesn't fit under the category; if you don't have anything nice to say.................................
  10. it appears to be a flash website... sorry can't be of more help
  11. didn't know that, sorry
  12. you are going to have so much fun! try clicking the link in my signature.
  13. be prepared to love it!
  14. Sorry Skiers? If that is how it is, then I would encourage all skiers to not buy anything at Mike and Matts.. Sorry guys, I know you support the local scene, but that is about as lame as me encouraging all ski people to avoid your shop. How does it feel?
  15. I'll give you passes and raise you that the new pipe is/was of poor quality and that the comments so far on the new park are that CB is still clueless as to what they are doing. The FS team? Great idea, however it is my understandings that half of the students followed thier coach from another mtn and they wished they hadn't. So have they done anything? Yeah they are trying a little bit, I guess. I agree but when comparing to the size of the other steps they are farther behind than they were last year. I'll know more after sunday.
  16. That was my first thought. good point.
  17. Others can chime in here. IMO................. Big Boulder offers the best terrain and backdrop for filming. IMO Both Blue and Bear are subject to huge crowds. You want to make a good film so you don't want huge number of people in the background. Big Boulder Park is huge in acreage and has the features with little or no traffic. - Set it up right for a day in the future, contact Big Boulder, let them know what you are doing and they might support, to some degree, a professional edit.. Futhermore - I believe revivals team challenge may be the day you want to film. Keep in mind that Boulder is closed on weekdays until 3pm - so if you truly want to put together a professional edit with semi-pros and sposored riders there might be a slim possibility for a closed photo shoot.
  18. There is only one, boarder on the team - Alex Curry and he is out with injury, possibly permanent. RountopRiders is not trying to be anything that they aren't already - just some local kids organizing themselves with thier media, thanks to Jason. WORD! WRONG... WRONG.............. Did I happen to mention that you are very wrong? relax........ WORD........... Click on the trailer in my siganture. actually watch some of the edits on the RR site and you will see that these kids know how to have fun... I am sorry that I posted that video link in this thread, I was just trying to keep the Boulder park edits together. thats all...
  19. really? please explain
  20. You know that you can count on nips if it fits the schedule. Call with when and where.
  21. Just because they print a disclaimer doesn't make it right. Disclaimers are printed to cover businesses against unreasonable complaints and/or suits. The fact of the matter is that this was a type of decision that is typically made by CB but nowhere else. Profitibility justified the safety decision to close that lift on that particular date and time. They are more concerned with people contracting frostbite than they are about the people who know how to prepare for it. Risk management seems to drive daily operations at CB more so than other places.
  22. I guarantee that if there was a survey rating experiences, that CB would be at nearly the bottom of the list comparitively to other mountains. CB mgmt is aware this, why aren't you? Crap - who took this thread off topic... Nice things about CB uhhhhhhh...... CB closes areas off so kids can be closer to the lodges to warm up.
  23. secret
  24. NO!!!!! I contend that with diminished crowds, they felt it more profitable and good for the employees if they let staff take off and close that side of the mountain. That simple. BTW - Nips and I were amazed how empty Steamboat was on Sunday - so awesome to still be cutting cord at 2pm - that is a place that we return to year after year. BTW - my kids no longer ski ther for free.
  25. Tom, do you know any other place other than Camelback? How often do you go to those other places? You are really clueless if you think the amount of ticket sales and customer service are somehow related.
