  1. measure lip to knuckle - not flight path........ it stops the confusion. if you claim that you jump 50 foot - better have a tape measure and camera to prove it.
  2. Got to admit this guy has a great sense of humor! Also, go easy on SkiCamelback - he is only the messenger. http://reviews.onthesnow.com/resort/reviews/PA/97 http://www.skitown.com/resortguide/review_...cfm/pa07/pa07/1
  3. I was curious about something - so I thought I would search the numerous places to post reviews. Interesting enough - there is the same resounding disdain. Read on... This one is good and well written. I noticed Camelback (
  4. correct, they want to be just like CB and let the 1000 employees park up close first.
  5. I wasn't going to buy a pass for Nips or I this year (because of last year) until I was reassured from several CB sources that they were going to progress it's parks. We got a personal tour preseason of the new pipe and even with Stevens negative comments I persuaded him/ourselves to think positive. When the weather turned sour and they didn't even attempt to have Laurel opened and responded with lame excuses about setting out some boxes and rails to hike, I knew then that I was fed BS and got roped into believing. Before CB was open full time I predicted that Rhodo would not amount to anything based on thier attitude towards the park during the inclement weather and it appears that I am right. I understand that the 300k investment in the pipe is a joke in that the quality of the construction is terrible. (can't blame weather on that one) - closed jumps, closed lifts, baby beginner park, flat landings, why did the Oakley series get thier parking lot rails from another source? etc etc etc... There is no way I would buy a pass to CB again for myself or Steven and quite frankly I would like to have a refund less the 3 visits we have made.
  6. CB is under new ownership. I believed that CB would change it's ways since it was being bought by a local. It appears that I was wrong. Last season, I grumbled, this season there is no excuse for the lagging customer service. It's not just the park rats, it is across the board. Each mountain has it's own forum here, why would CB get the most flame? where there is smoke there is fire. Correct these statements any where you think they are wrong. CB is the biggest ski resort machine in our area yet is the slowest to respond to trends and customer service because it profits on the once or twice a year ticket, who aren't coming back. Demographics.............. As long as there is the limited terrain in close proximity to major metropolitan areas, CB will always do well, they don't care about "core" snow lovers because they don't have to, it is as simple as that.
  7. You don't see me there other than to get disappointed or when I can't get out of it.
  8. CB closes its lifts to allow thier employees to watch the super bowl thereby increasing thier profitibility (since they already sold the days ticket) thereby ensuring thier superior customer service for many years to come.
  9. does anyone care that I always park close, I just happen to have an opinion that if every person who bought a ticket at CB knew that the first lot was filled with employees that they would be enraged and that the policy of allowing employees to park in the upper lot goes hand in hand with so many other "we don't care" issues that I have heard or experienced.
  10. hahahahaa........ this thread still lives! To anyone who disses a park rat for any reason: Please shut up. You are totally clueless and a detriment to the thing you love the most, the future and the longevity of your beloved hill. If you old bitties who go on crying about the poor attitude of the park rat don't like it, then do something to stop thier complaining and give them what they want, they are going to get it one way or another.
  11. Since someone volunteered me to tend a gate, he doesn't have anywhere to go, so he might as well race. He likes slalom, hope he holds it together and goes easy.

  13. I was trying to point out that there were a lot of freestyle skiers on slalom skis wearing spandex in the park and a lot of twin tippers on the groomers who looked like freestyle skiers but probably aren't, thats all.
  14. Where are all the CB defenders now?
  15. Found another video of BB park.. http://www.roundtopriders.com/videos/
  16. Thanks, Ski - Nips and I were in Steamboat last week. Ridges 1st run to me looked slow, so I was surprised at the results. His second run, I thought was actually a better run (faster) until he glazed over or something and hockey stopped the next to last gate. There were 3 other racers there who must have had the first race jitters because they looked to be really cooking, they just didn't hold it together. I hope that his scores rekindle a drive to continue racing into the J3's even for just the fun of the race, maybe no team training, just do the races? Next races are slaloms which he seems to enjoy more than the faster GS which is a recent change for him after Breck last year. Oh! and that Kelley is a smooth racer, she makes it look really easy. She is really blossoming, keep an eye on her!
  17. Noticed a huge trend at Steamboat last week. It seemed as though every 17-20 yr old guy in the lift lines was on twin tips but the park was empty all week? Now why would that be? OH and DUDE........ you should have seen all the Team Summit Kids in the park on there SL this and that before and after the race. You need to get out more, take a look around a little better. You got hit by once a weekender trying to pass a racer who skis the slopes like he is the only one on it.
  18. Have they recut the pipe since opening yet?
  19. I read somewhere that CB is safety minded and closed the jumps for everyone safety... That a good thing!
  20. wow........... that sucks......... heal up!
  21. Momentum for skier coaching - COC is more all around good at everything with a huge park.
  22. CamelWack? CB won't do that cause it has only been suggested to them by a bunch of entitled park rats who...... ne'ermind.... The medium park will be open 1st week of Feb 07 - no worries..
  23. Why does BB's updates suck? c'mon people, we have been away for a week. pics or something more please!
  24. Any more reports?
  25. Hard landings are only an issue if they are flat.. Are you guys ever going to build a landing at 32 - 34 degrees? You have the winch groomer - put it to work, please?
