I wish I could write an intelligent post. I think I am in a unique position with an expert racer and park rat, to my own gaper self, to my parents now 64 & 74 yrs old who took me to ski for my first time many many years ago. What weirds me out about CB is how they can be so stuck in thier own little world thinking they are doing a great job by simply measuring thier ticket sales. I wonder what will happen when they open that 400 room hotel above tubing with out changing something. I am betting that they do more harm to growth of snow sports by creating a lousy experience, there is no way to know, unless someone did an extended unbiased exit poll. It's too bad they don't have laws about users per acre on ski slopes. The experience at CB of my parents this weekend on Saturday was cause enough for them to want to go to BB on Sunday and not return to CB. From dropping them off at the front to the ticket line, the walk to parking, to the poor grooming or lack of due to traffic, to clientele terrorizing them on the greens, they won't be returning this week on thier annual Pocono trip, my kids, bored to tears, or threatened to get a pass clipped for wrestling, to a kid who got yelled at for skiing on one leg, to my own disgust for over crowded slopes and being the reipient of the complaints.

It looked to me like they were blowin the pipe on Oak Grove but with the wind on Saturday Rhodo and Raceway was the lucky recipient.

I think there are some back yard parks better than CB... seriously!

The number of trails is the same? You haven't been to either JF or BB have you? BB is way ahead in getting open and staying open. The amount and quality of snow per square foot is unequalled anywhere so far this season. CB puts forth a minimum effort. If it is not economically feasible for CB then they won't operate. It's simple... BB not blowing snow during peak electric times is because they don't have to now. As far as I am concerned they had 100% trail coverage, yesterday, sunday, 1/21 before anyone else. They were even blowing an area I haven't seen open before, the mid mountain clearing along side of big boulder trail.. so much potential soon to be realized. some of the trails they are blowing are over 10' deep. BB is not blowing just for coverage, they are blowing huge amounts of snow for the features they have BUILT and are going to build. I will get info and post it soon. They are already in the process of circling back around to rebuild thier parks with even better quality and variety. Will CB ever even consider something fun like a boarder cross trail? BB has and it is nearly finished! I know what I know about the comparison and you don't because you don't ski both places in the same day, do you?. As far as CB... my house is opposite the slopes of CB, I skied BB in the evening many nights when they were blowing, my truck has a thermometer and there were several marginal nights that CB did not blow and they could have. seriously.. BB is in a different mode of coverage, if it was all about grooming a 1' deep path down a trail they could have been 100% weeks ago.

nope... never said I wouldn't ski it again, I have passes, plus with out of town guests.... it is much more convienent to dump them at CB. Just so there is no confusion. The only time I will reccomend CB to any one is for.... uh .. this is taking too long to come up with answer. mid week before noon after they are 100% open???? as soon as a pipe is open, probably for a half day before noon, unless one or both of my kids want to stay longer.

shawnee was a kept secret last year. thier park was off the radar. It was really sweet comparitively the 2 times we were there mid season last year. Hope you guys do more of the same now that winter got here.

bb was really nice yesterday, sunday.. they are blowing so much snow. those guns really produce some quality snow. BTW what is planned for the area next to the observation deck on boulder, anyone know?

Word... I've said it before and want to say it again. CB has absolutely no clue what they are doing with the park scene. Thier marketing first paragraph park hype is absolutely bullshit. To those who are putting faith in the hype (as I did) do your self a favor, if you care about quality park riding - don't waste your money there! They apparently don't care about the park scene, they say they do, but they either are totally clueless with poor park management or as I said, they don't really care. you don't get out much and have no idea of what you are talking about.

All the CB trails Sucked by 11AM - every last one of them. ok, well one of them was ok but it was a boooooorrrrrrrrring green trail
-
JFBB.. knows what they are doing.. It will show in another 2 months when everyone else is closing.
-
Didn't Bode recently win a WC downhill by 1.5 seconds.. Where was the post on that?
-
I am learning to accept that CB will never care about quality, they only care about quantity of ticket sales. When and if Rhodo does open, don't expect much. I am convinced that even when they do open they won't do much to try and recoup the length of the season or the quality of the experience.

they weren't yesterday..
-
thanks for posting the results, whats up with calling people fucking retards on this board is what the mods should be concerned about.. lol
-
the site is updated now. I may have had an old page cached.
-
word... you won't find 15 day forecasts there.. You will find general trends and they have been right on this year.
-
and you show a silly dumb blind faith

I don't understand what Deep throat has to do with this, I am just surprised that 2 days before an event the USASA.org website still has the event listed. always? that site is blind-linked to USASA.org and looks like it is several weeks behind for updates. http://usasa.org/series/series.lasso?-toke...nfo&-search

LOL! naaaa .... just a kid who likes to rip. his profile is up on the BoulderPark Team Page now, as is Peter and Billy who ride at BB on a daily basis. Cartoon Network has that. Brian Kisch is the kid currently featured from the park now. Warner Brothers is also a sponsor for the 13 and under NextSnow comp. Along with Nike and Frosted Flakes AOL, Snickers, and several others..
-
I dunno, I never saw those pics before. The NextSnow Final comp consists of 6 categories for the top 50 of 180 from 100 different resorts. You score points accordingly in each discipline. Gate Racing is one of the categories, notice the snowboard gates. Also he prefers the slalom skis in the icy pipes here in the east. check out the other profiles and you will see a better pic of those skis during the pipe comp. Highly unlikely, he is busy with other things like skiing, or homework or sleeping...

PASkiandRide day at JFBB - Jan 27!
Papasteeze replied to ThinkSnow's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
Thats good info... Nothing wrong with getting the word out.... Even better coming from a shop so supportive of the "scene" in our area. Who is organizing this with JFBB?
