BC Iron Works presents: Melt Down Jib Fest
Papasteeze replied to BC Iron Works's topic in Bear Creek
nice move in spite of this weather, props!!! -
sort of good news for nips since he will be up north next weekend.
-
I really doubt that.. what area, Blue? Given the current weather pattern I see CB closing very soon. In either case, I think they should have stayed open until they can not connect the snow patches. Besides, as long as there is camelbeach they will always close around march 20th if not before.
-
exactly............ the resounding sentiment i keep hearing is, that if you don't like it, leave. Who are these people who say that?
-
drop in groups, take turns holding and clearing the jump, have patience, scream drop all the way down, until a system gets sorted out there is not much anyone can do. It sucks, I think that the crowd problem is a by-product of poor conditions and limited trails, holiday crowds from other mountains. it was probabaly as bad as it will ever get.
-
yes sure.. I just wish they would speak up....
-
DH is the resident expert, in the meanwhile north lake.......... Here is what I know Northstar is a mix of jibs and jumps.. Alpine mostly jumps Boreal Jibs and more jibs and some jumps Squaw to say you have been there done that. IMO they all ski about the same... Squaw does have a different feel to it.
-
so what.... they should be open every day they can be and close when they can't connect the snow patches... so what if they have a losing year. I wasn't going to buy a pass this year and stupid me bought one. I won't be fooled again and I will do my best to let others know what CB is.. Only if it is madly convienent or there is a comp worthwhile. By the way to all those naysayers who are defending CB.. take notice that through the years CB consistently get beat on. Are you proud of that? think about it, why does CB always get picked on? cause it is the truth, the only care about thier profitibility knowing that there are a lot of gullible people out there,
-
come out any way.. it's always a good time. besides the comps usually bring up the adrenaline to have you trying things that you wouldn't normally.

any DECENT parks open on the east coast?
Papasteeze replied to sirfrancisbacon9's topic in General Chat
I have some awesome footage of the tree jib... I got nipples nutting the top of it. so funny...... but I got freakin computer issues.... this sucks........ -
camelback won't change as long as they have the noob traffic they do. They have a great business model. Nothing will change for true snow lover, face it we are high maintenance and low margin. They are expanding facilities again. We need to look into whether there are plans for trail expansion.

Volkl Karmas. Best all around twin tip out there. Pricey, but if you are looking for qaulity in all mountain, it is theeeee ski.
-
you have to press them together firmly, I have 8 days one on top of the other with no problem. it helps to spread the wicket farther apart and make sure that the ticket is folded up as high as it will go. I have noticed several tickets laying in the snow this season, so yes it is a problem.

oh good ... BB is going to get insane. thank god we are headed north next week
-
I miss parkbuilder.
-
Made up information? I am not seeing things nor are my neighbors.. closing and not having to pay staff is not cost effective when there aren't any ticket sales? .......... then again love is blind isn't it... I skied at CB in the morning and then BB well into several nights where BB was blowing and CB was not when we got home. The thermometer temp never changed on my truck and on one night it was one dgree lower ... They were only only blowing margies.. ok may some of the hybrid names that occur on the same trail. they other guns were on those small bottom trails that are part of the main trails from the summit. I have a houuse with a clear view of all the slopes right in my bedroom, others here at northridge know the same thing as I do. so unless you can see what I and others saw don't believe what CB is telling you. they are misleading you.
-
They should be open and put a warning sign out about weather related poor conditions PERIOD.......... let the buyer beware.... but nooooooooooooo as of yesterday thier website touted that they were snowmaking on 13 trails..
-
Camelback Closed!!! Thats why they shut down the massage board.. LOL! Due to inclement weather, Camelback Ski Area and Camelback Tubing Park will not be operating on Monday January 1 st, 2007. there is no sno on the mountain, could be all the hot air up north warming the whole globe.. wooot for the new year!
-
I just don't understand them. They announce on thier webpage that they are snowmaking on 13 trails? Sure they would like to, but they are not making snow on 13 trails. LIARS! They really don't care do they? Any one notice that thier message board is down for maintenance? HAHAHA bet they are going to clean my crap up!

Tons of kids with skills, not too many skiers though.. yeah they got a little bit of fresh snow each night and the crew is constantly maintaining and tweaking.. They put up this verticle log this morning. A heard a skier finally got to stall on the top of it tonight.. -
I hate what CB does - or doesn't do for the true snow lover. I will admit it.. on the other hand they do seem to attract a lot of beginners so maybe those people will come back and in the future support the industry. so I guess I should love and support them for that????
