  5. hahahahaa - yeah it has been explained that all the parking spots closest to the lodge are for who ever gets to them first which is about 90% employees
  6. If you are interested in getting included a professional edit. Be at BB tomorrow.
  7. the info is accurate, I am assuming so.
  8. try it now
  9. I know where there is a really awesome catalogue of urban rails btween lancaster and roundtop..
  10. Nipples is available to compete with OPEN DIVISION team. We will be coming back from Vermont the day before and can probably make this weekday comp work if anyone thinks he would be an asset. keep in mind there is a hundred dollar entry fee and it is only for the open category. Message me to organize.
  11. First of all Props to Buckmans for putting this event on. They got the ads in national snow rags, the website, now they are stepping it up with this type of event. My apologies. However........ You know what? I typed as I was reading, it was a reaction based on reeeeeaaaaal experience. I'll admit I am jumpy. It is still dumping in BC, CO has got a decent base. meanwhile freakin daffodils are coming up here. I know where our sport is heading. It's heading for rail jams and indoor parks and that sucks. Second: I sent a separate email to John. The problem is the timing of the schedule categories. The biggest complaint of the 50 contestants in Boston was that there was no time to practice and the qualifying heat was too short. 12 contestants were given 45 mins in each heat. - they got 3 hits each. Do the math, even if they can stand in line and drop (which I doubt cause of scaffold) they will not get through 125 in one hour. (we attended 6 jams this season, including the 2 at Chris's) This comp was invite only ran by Seth Warner he now runs Boston Ski Market and appeared in Corduroy Third: The jib itself. Camelback just recent named thier fabricators as SlideInk, now maybe they have been keeping all thier new jibs that they advertised hidden, but why in heavens name would they do that? Isn't the idea to sell tickets? Secrets don't sell tickets. This fall when we were trying to decide on where to call home we traipsed and tresspassed the resorts to get up close to see what they were building for this season. We only found one new butter thingy and last years jibs repainted. None of them are made from tubular steel. Camelbacks jibs were at the bottom of quality. Lastly: The age group, the younger kids' patience will not hold for that long of a jam that you can't hit it repeatedly. Trust me I know LOL! I am posting all this to help make it a successful event that is on a day that has an opening in our schedule. Sorry that it reads so rough.
  12. how did they get the snow that color?
  13. Here is a video from that Jam in Boston http://media.putfile.com/Boston-Rail-Jamma
  14. My only concern is the Camelback Jibs... Dude..... Have you seen thier jibs?.. Unless they are making something during winter, Don't do yourself like that. You have time to get something decent. Contact the Park Logic guys to make you something you can reuse or Big Boulder, they have literally tons of stuff sitting in the parking lot.. I'll check nips schedule.. UHHH I might also suggest that since you are limiting the comp to 125 that you change the age bracket, I dont think you want to have kids dropping in from that height at that age, besides there aren't many who can handle it. and those who can handle it will likely be on the slopes. Try 14 or 15 and under. Trust me this schedule WILL NOT WORK FOR 125 competitors. Just trying to help! My son was just in a large invite only for 50 competitors in Boston. It won't work. Event schedule: 2/17/07 Competitor check in = Noon - 1:30pm Practice session = 2:00pm Qualifying round = 3:00pm Pro Exhibition = 5:00pm Finals (top 16) = 6:00pm UNDER THE LIGHTS! Awards = Immediately following finals (approx. 7:30pm) We expect to fill all 125 slots so if you are interested sign up now! Want to see the two plankers step up! If you have any questions feel free to contact me directly at johnl@buckmansinc.com
  15. hahahaa.... I think he is older than that... LOL he mentioned something about dropping his kids off to school...
  16. I don't need to preface my qualifications to say that statement is wrong... but it is very wrong... Every great Park that we have been involved with, has a builder who is outfront and center generating and creating "the scene" Big Boulder has lacked this in the past years. Whether it was Kieth from Shawnee, Andy at BC, Joe at RT, The Blue Crew, Doug at High North, Ken at COC and Shawn at BB - they all have one thing in common. They generate "the scene" during the off season by talking to the serious riders through many mediums, whether it be forum and web interaction to cutters camp and resort schooling. The serious riders get stoked based on thier input and then tell thier friends and so forth and so on. The converse is true. Great big camelback is mute and so is thier park. They are on a different path with focus on the USASA program and quite frankly (search the camelback forum) that program was hated on hard by the core group of park riders who post here. They do not have a park worth getting stoked on. The scene? What Scene? (and I was rooting for them until I went and personally saw what thier builders made this summer) Montage? Ryan Neptune? where is he? The word on the street is that this guy openly disrespects park skiers. nothing will happen there and if it does, it will be too late in the season to sell any tickets which is why you all are in business, correct? The Scene, What Scene? they have other issues to deal with. maybe things will change this summer. Break downs on opening days?... hahaha... They happen, yeah tillers rusted solid, ungreased or untorqued wheels, hydaulic leaks... etc etc that should be on maintenance's shoulders in my opinion. Now with all that said, I totally agree that everyone who calls BB home should keep an open mind and be supportive during the transition. I intend on doing everything I can to help including grabbing a rake if the groomers break again (if they will let me) hahaha..
  17. It's going to be foggy with no crowds, if it is your first day out then I am sure it is "worth it"
  18. hey! The general manager thanked you... no worries! Ah yep.. Funny how fast BB overshadowed everyone for a short period. Method so you know, BC has always "gotten it" Last year, they had an unheard of public forum for everyone to voice there comments, suggestions and concerns regarding the park. Looking good Andy! BTW we saw you and your girl at BB but didn't get a chance to say hello!
  19. hahaha skitzo... sorry, I am not always politically correct. Yes COC is primarily a snowboarding summer camp. The trend however is that there are a bigger percentage every year of skiers. I expect that the trend will continue
  20. Think about it. You either lead, you follow, or you get out of others way. It is a philosophical way to live. Park Logic are leaders....
  21. they definitely were forced to leave against their will. And itd be one thing if they fired two nameless park crew. They fired the two guys that they made a huge deal about earlier in the season. They at least owe us a new plan to replace the old one. All that it appears to be right now is someone with more power than those two, had his ego stepped on, and a lot of customers got shafted to pet that guys ego.
  22. C'mon people.. there has been a 140 views. sign it if you agree
  23. lead, follow or get the hell out of the way...
