I don't think a person should have to use thier real name. just say that you acknowledge. Big boulder will get the point. there were 80 views already, I am thinking people are afraid to sign using thier name.

I want to reiterate the point that the core community of park people that are posting is a small percentage of the actual fall out. This is a national event as was the announcement that park logic was coming to Big Boulder. I know that my family can be indirectly and directly responsible for many many new patrons, the converse is probably also true. Regardless of the dedication and passion of the replacements to Park Logic, there is no possible way to convince me that they have the skills to execute. Park Logic was operating on a much bigger picture with a long plan for BB to be a premiere park. I believe that they treated Big Boulder as it was thier own. It is unfortunate that those who are disgruntled, were not supportive to the bigger goal. I think ultimately it hurt everyone including themselves. We were very proud to be associated and willing to be patient during this growth period. That patience is waning. Already, we miss the updates. It is not too late for damage control.

thanks glenn... nips has the orange plaid helmet. The best news about COC next year is that they got another 20% larger. This place is huge now. There seems to be really good snow falling now so it should be another good summer session.

it depends on the crowd, a lot of people wait until thier first day on the snow. The process itself is only a few minutes. I don't believe that it will be that crowded.. 2 hours drive back and forth vs waiting in line. wait in line I would say just get there early... shoudl be a breeze. just give them your name if you have already signed up.

So since Park logic is no longer announcing the set ups, you guys who are there during the week are going to have to. what is set up now for this weekend? Is the snow holding up?

OK - folks, I think we are all in agreement. I should start a new thread. The new thread should be asking where the new guy is and where the edit of the new jumps for this weekend is. Thats how you create a sick park.. You know that if PL was here they would be getting the word out by now with exactly that. Come on mountain managers step up to the plate, don't let us down. I will call a spade a spade, and try to work forward with an open mind and the thinking that the pissed off BB locals are working hard right now to live up to all of our expectations. I explained in other threads/posts. Nipples last year would write Bear Creek as his home mountain on Competition Entry forms (we rarely went there except for comps) he wants to be associated with the best in his opinion. I guided and advised him to changes at BB and he chose BB over BC this season. Gurp, you know he liked BB in the past but last year it would have still been 4th or 5th on his list. For example: he said he wanted to visit Shawnee this weekend, I told him keith wasn't there anymore, that changed that idea.. This is the part that blows me away! I have been watching this thread and the number of guests that are reading it along with members who are not chiming in astounds me. I really feel strongly that it can't possibly be too late to make ammends and get something worked out for the long term stellar success of what (we in the know) of this hill. I mean, come on.. how many people would up and quit if they were brought back? Now, let's either end the bashing of BB and focus on helping them or petition them to bring back PL, because Jesse assured us that nothing was going to change and they are still committed to the park. I think I mentioned it before, maybe not directly to you, but available for anyone who asks, hit me up on the slopes, you have to try these skis. I still think they are a secret and/or the price scares people away. They are stiff comparitively. I think they are still unproven in the park, I saw one kid at BB last weekend with them and I tried to track him down but never saw him again.

Hey fluffy, thanks for the clarification. Those new fan guns can be computer controlled based on the humidity and temperature, correct? Otherwise, I got a total piece of BS information.... again! sorry... Sounds like you know what is up, so what was the story between park logic and the snow makers anyhow?

My volkl karmas are at 169 make me an offer. The only reason I would sell them is to have this years, they have hit a couple of boxes 50/50 LOL! never ground and have a race tune on them.

This expresses how I feel too, just me, not my kids, my kids will have fun anywhere. Also, did those guys buy or move to the Lake Harmony area? I thought I saw a comment to that effect somewhere.

Interesting, 45 years have taught me something about Karma, sadly you are correct.... What comes around, goes around, you do reap what you sow. Another ironic thing, not that it matters is that 4 family friends in a similar mode as ours moved onto other slopes this season after calling JFBB home previous years. What is really funny about this is that they are from Northern Jersey, close to mountain creek. 2 families relocated to Breck and the other 2 are in Camelbacks freestyle program. I didn't talk to the 2 that went to CB pre-season and as of sunday, they were pissed that they didn't stay at JFBB. Now it looks like they made the progressive move, because BB will likely level back to where they were last year. As far as the comment about snow making, those SMI guns are computer controlled, the person who really makes the difference with snow making is the mountain manager who directs where the guns are to be pointed not the snow making crew. The snow making crew gets the press cause those guys typically work in extreme conditions. The quality of the snow at BB is a direct result of a computer program. Quickly disappearing are the days where they turn valves to get the optimum mix.

funny you mention echo, I sent contact info, trying to help out. yeah method, whaleback, Snow park, there are a couple of others whose name escapes me right now, all of them are tiny verts, that is the beauty of what I think the park logic guys were onto except and an endless water supply, coldest temps in our area, new machinery, new jibs, new attitude along with the management, promotion, contacts and enthusiasm to make it happen. what a killer formula! It is really interesting to me that no one has yet mentioned who is going to step and lead the crews or even who was there last year.

hahahahaa no shit... eastern "pro" skiers always migrate west. duh.... I believe that park logic would have created "pro" caliber that even a "pro" would like... and those setups, last weekend were mountain creek set ups. (to who ever said the park crew = setups) so regardless if park crew physically built them, it appeared to me to be an exact duplication of what we have seen from jiblab last year. Oh! the Mountain creek visitors to BB last weekend are all saying the same thing.

we will only be there saturday this weekend, probably will stay late if they don't throw me off the mountain .. LOL!

we bought in North Ridge 2 years ago and frankly, I like the idea beacuse it will certainly drive the need for expansion. PA seems to be supportive to tourism and they will need the slopes. The hotel is planned for where the sun bowl lodge is or adjacent to it if I remember right. It would be accessed via the tubing hill which is a much more direct route to the slopes. If CB is smart, my thinking is that they would develop that area into a new base area, replacing the aged one they have now. Second fold, the hotel will drive more patrons to buy at north ridge which is planning another 200 hundred homes, the new builder wants to change the name to Four Season, which I don't like. With more sales property values should go up. Now, as I mentioned 200 homes plus 400 hotel units is a lot of sewer and water. I am sure that they have that angle alredy covered, what I want to know is how they can softly announce this and yet not announce trail expansion plans. They can't believe that CB can support that many bodies on thier already crowded slopes can they? As far as a late season goes. they will never stay open late as long as the current management exists at CB. They think they have a well oiled machine and appear to be stuck in thier ways and would never take less time than they are to set up camel beach. Remember they use the approximate 75 days between seasons to do that. They have a huge freshwater supply with that creek. It would require water treatment plant permits that I am betting they already have. North Ridge in itself is a huge development that is only half finished if that. Keep in mind also that there is quite a bit of land between the tubing slopes and Sun Bowl lodge. Access road, sure it gets clogged 3 months out of the year, but not really, only mid morning and late afternoon on weekends. There wasn't anyone on that road last weekend.

Uhh... Thats not accurate. BB is called home for Parks. BC was going to be home for parks. CB is called home for Racing. We have passes to BB, CB and weeknights at BC. Our house is at CB, I will drop one kid off to race at CB and then take the other to BB for the park for the next couple of weekends, then comp season starts. You got it, I don't like saying that I don't care about the people who run the hill because I enjoy talking and making friends, but when it comes right down to it. I wouldn't care if there was no lodge and the biggest asses in the world ran the place and they were all convicts and molesters but they still had the best park........... it is very likely that that is where my kid would want to go,. And I wouldn't care! Does that make sense?

I can speak about BB and JF too but from a much different broader perspective. We saw the changes, we also saw the same rails year after year in the same or similar places. I am not denying the previous years progress. that is not the point in all these passionate pleas. The point is that this year I believe that they were making a quantum leap with thier progress and now it will be back to same peeps who ran the show in previous years. So, here is a tidbit for you and only BB can clarify, but it is my understanding that the guy who built those motocross jumps is now back at the helm. Still feel the same rideordie7?
