I was just wondering if there will be any more improvements coming to JF? The only thing that I could think that might help would be relocating the pole cats from the tubing runs. They might be more beneficial to put them on Exhibition and the top headwall of Lightning....or just put them on portable mounts to use anywhere (if that's possible).

I wanted to go on Wednesday, but can't get off of work
-
We're lucky to be just a couple hours away from the place. It's the best jump you'll find in the summer, around here
-
Summer skiing only two hours away, with perfect packed powder conditions, when it's 90 degrees outside. I can't wait .

Since it will be open before we know it, I added Xanadu to the mountain listing. I know I plan on getting there when it opens. I wonder if there will be off season passes.

Condition report Big Boulder 4-6-08
bigdaddyk replied to RidgeRacer's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
Complete opposite of what I did. I lapped Mittle-weg the whole time. I must have left as you were coming in. It was actually fairly crowded while I was there. There was about a 10 -15 chair wait at times. -
I'm sure the conditions sucked at any place that was open today, due to the rain. I was at CB early, took 4 runs and left to go to BB. The snow quality at BB was better, especially this time of the year when it gets warm. The 5 degree difference in temps made a big difference. Conditions should be better on Sunday.

Is this the reason why they periodically stop the lift and remove chairs?

From NOAA for Lake Harmony: Saturday: Showers, mainly before 8am That doesn't look bad. Could make for faster snow.
-
That's what the phone message says.
-
I'll be there.
-
I'll be there at least on Sunday.

It's not about coverage, it's all about making money. I didn't think that JF was visible from any roads.
-
I hope not. I want to go in the morning. I'm definately calling first, though. I don't blame them if they close and the weather is bad.

Draufganger, snow drift, and Mittl Weg are open with nothing on them, which is how I like my trails. Boulder and Bunny Schuss are the other two opened as parks. The rest of the mountain is closed. There were a few families there today, with little kids and I saw one on a leash. They could open a couple more trails, I would think.

Yeap. I called a couple days before Christmas to make sure it was valid on Christmas and was told yes. The website had no mention of Christmas being a black out, it only says excluding Sundays of Martin Luther King, President's Weekends. I ended up going on Christmas, which was a Tuesday, and got carted off to the damn office on my third run. I had to pitch a bitch for about five minutes until a lady came out and said yes they are valid (which I already knew). They kept saying that it was not valid on Holidays. I told them to re-read their own policy because there is no mention of holidays, only the Sundays of two holiday weekends. I then left the office and went to get on the Iron Horse and got pulled aside again and told it wasn't valid. This time I was getting pissed off and I told them that it was bullshit and I just left the office and ended up calling the office and bitched about it because they did not tell the rest of the lift attendants.

The cord will already be destroyed at 9am, since they open at 8am .
-
I called and you still can't use a midweek season pass on Saturday, which is bullshit if they are charging midweek rates.
-
I have to work until 2 am, so I'll probably be at BB on Saturday and BB or Sno on Sunday.
-
It's free for you, since you have a pass.
-
I just checked onthesnow.com and Alpine and Shawnee are still listed as open. I looked at each website and their websites still say they are open until the end of the month
-
The conditions page also says packed powder
-
I was there until 11:30 and it wasn't doing anything.

They have plenty of snow. They probably had the east side closed to help save snow.
