  1. I don't do parks. The jumps look like they are a decent size. It also doesn't look too cluttered up with stuff.
  2. I don't go to BB on weekends, only JF. JF has to get more people, because it is a larger place. JF might get crowded, but the lift lines will go really quick and you won't notice them, because they have so many lifts. Just a hint, the two triple chairs do sometimes get lines, but you can avoid them by heading to the quad by way of the alley that is directly behind the triple chairs. From what I've seen, the two doulbes (for the greens) on the the west side of the mountain can sometimes get lines. If you stay mid way from the blues (tirple chairs) over to east mountain, you won't notice lines. If you go in the lodge, you will notice the crowds. If I didn't have a pass, I still wouldn't hesitate on going because of crowds. You do want to get there early, to get a parking place, or you will end up out in the woods. Get there before 10am and you should be ok.
  3. It sounds like he was referring to the ski length.
  4. I'm sure it would make a big difference.
  5. They ended up blocking off half of the trail in that area.
  6. Continued from: http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry184611 After leaving JF, I hit the turnpike and went to Sno. I solved my great debate about the temp difference. It was 3 degrees warmer at Sno (19). It was also windy and snowing. They were blowing a lot of snow and there was deep man made powder all over. The only down side to this was it kind of killed the thrill of the natural snow. I ended up getting in 8 runs before leaving. I figured that 50 total runs in one day was more than enough...my legs were starting to plead with me.
  7. Today was probably the best powder day of the season, so far. Snow started to fall at 9 am and lasted the entire day. There was vertually no wind. The temp started at 12 degrees and finished the day at 16 degrees. I'm going to guess that they got about 3" of snow. The snow was really dry and powdery. It was awesome to not hear your skis. I managed to get 42 runs in today and did not want to end the day yet. See part 2 of TR: http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry184613
  8. ... nevermind
  9. This might be a good thread to carry over to chat.
  10. Uh, oh....here we go.
  11. I didn't check out the link, but it almost looks like somebody might have been hacked??? Just wondering because of the other goofy post.
  12. This might be a good time to close this thread and save the hatred .
  13. It's cheaper to blow at night. It also sucks to have snow guns blowing in your face. People don't want to get sprayed, when there is already frost bite warnings. I used to complain about this, but I learned to appreciate sking on a quiet mountain, and not having to worry about dodging man made snow.
  14. Bear right off of lightning, to Floyd's, with no turning So am I. Wait, mine's all week, first thing in the morning .
  15. The 3 pm one was the one I was looking for. I had 8 layers. (T-shirt, thermal shirt, long sleve shirt, another t-shirt, two sweat shirts, thin wind breaker, ski jacket). Nice and toastie for 4 hours of contiuous skiing. I guess I didn't mention the facemask
  16. That's why I waited to go in the afternoon. I also figured that today would be a good day for Blue, since JF is 6 degrees colder. It was 2 degrees at JF when I woke up and 8 at Blue, so I went back to bed and went to Blue at noon. When I got on the TP, it was 12 in Lake Harmony. Arriving at Blue, it was 18. I almost went to Hunter, but that would have been worse, as far a being cold went.
  17. WTF ^^^^
  18. I was there from 12:30 to 4:15. The conditions weren't too bad. They were making cookies on sidewinder, during the afternoon. What happened to the mid day grooming?
  19. If they were given to you, why are you selling them? You might want to read the disclaimer on their season pass web page
  20. I was going to go this afternoon, but went out last night and it turned into a lazy day

    terrain park opens

I agree with planting trees for wind blocks. The main face of Sno can be a pain, when windy.
  22. It doesn't matter which ski area you go to, you always run into somebody who decides to drive like an asshole (spinning out, skidding in the snow, etc.).
  23. I haven't really taken advantage of the first tracks special because my lazy ass has been having a hard enough time getting there by 8am, but exhibition looked like somebody did....there were already a bunch of tracks down it by 8. Mother nature helped out the entire morning by providing light to moderate snowfall. A few more icy patches were popping up today, because of the amount of people skiing. Challenge was still the best trail, due to having the freshest snow on it. Hopefully with this upcoming cold, they pound the mountain with snow, since nature doesn't seem to want to do it. Everything is still in good shape, but powder instead granular would be welcomed .
  24. JF.....or... Blue quality > quantity
  25. They blew snow from the fan guns last night and everything was in really good shape. It was hard to tell that we had wash outs. Even the trails that didn't have snow blown on them looked like they weren't rained on. The grooming was excellent. The trials of the day were the left side of Thunderbolt and the right side of Challenge. JF never ceases to amaze me on how well they hold out through rain and warmth. Its as though everything gets tarped.
