  1. I see how it is....you leave at 5 and I show up at 5:15
  2. I wouldn't either. The double blacks are all glades. If you can do the blues, the diamonds shouldn't be much more difficult. They have a few more headwalls and are a little longer. I spend more time going from lehigh to challenge, than on East Mountain. I like the varied terrain.
  3. Yes it was. They have the snow and know what to do with it.
  4. Even better. From their website: " Winter Festival Week is coming up! $10 Midweek Lift Tickets January 28 - February 1 "
  5. I was there from 5:15 to 7:15. I heard a liftie tell somebody that the runs over by fast track / runaway were now open. I hit lower runaway on my last run. It wasn't groomed really well and probably still should have been closed, until they got it groomed out better. It looked like they quickly pushed the piles around, but I would think that by tommorrow it should be better.
  6. Anybody going? I should be there by at least 6pm.
  7. How was it? I was also looking at that one.
  8. I should be at JF.
  9. It would be nice if they are 100% on Tuesday. I plan on getting there between 5-6.
  10. I was debating about either Killington or Mount Snow sometime. Any suggestions between the two?
  11. I was at JF today.
  12. I took a lesson five years ago and the instructor told me not to worry about the time limit. He told me that if he couldn't teach me in the time limit, that it was his fault and not mine and that he owed it to me to stay with me, until I learned, and there would be no additional charge.
  13. I counted all of my layers today, including jacket, and I turned out to be an 8 layer player . Needless to say, I ended up opening vents on my jacket and helmet, but I was toasty. Six degrees never felt so warm.
  14. I would think JF would be better. There features are spread out more and there is less of them. Plus they also have some decent size jumps, so there is a little bit of everything. You also have more for free skiing / riding.
  15. What I meant was that customers are paying, so instructors should not be cutting in front of the paying customers. That's poor customer service relations.
  16. Too cold now, to be messing with them.
  17. It used to irk me when places wouldn't blow snow during the day. I now appreciate it when they shut the guns off. I hate my goggles freezing up and not being able to see .
  18. Like cutting in line, in front of customers who have paid ? I've had that attempted at a couple places. One nice thing is that it has never happened at JF. I've actually had instructors tell me to go before them at JF .
  19. I didn't think that you could use skis without safety features?
  20. Call them. Get the info from the source. More crowded than a usual weekend.
  21. Not much of a report, other than fresh powder and excellent conditions for 26 laps. It snowed about 2 inches while I was there (3-6) .
  22. Any place will be crowded. I might be a little biased here, but Jack Frost might be your best bet. They are 100% open (and have been for a while). They have more lifts to service the mountain, hence quicker lines. They have a decent amount of trails for beginners. Plus, the beginners can hit a lift back up, while more experienced skiers can keep going farther down blue trails (kind of like a mid station lift, but two separate lifts). JF might get a little more crowded than Elk, but having more terrain to choose come out weighs that. Plus there are no limitations at JF...if it has snow on it, they let you ski it. Where ever you go, get there for first chair, or don't bother to go because it will be a mad house.
  23. It might be time to groom them over and let them re-form.
  24. I might be there Thursday. I'd look for you, but I'll probably be gone by the time you get there, since I go early.
  25. I'll be at JF, since I have a restricted pass at Sno.
