I think I'm changing my plans and going to Sno or JF, since the snow / sleet is supposed to come in earlier now. I'm hesitant on going and having lifts shut down.
-
Tonight was my 5th trip to Sno this season and it was the best trip there, so far. I stayed on the NF the whole time (6:30 to 8:15). Coverage was really good, packed powder. There was also a decent amount of natural snow, off trails. Crowds were sparse.

What did whistler look like?
-
Anybody heading out to CB on Thursday, as long as it's not windy? I'm probably heading up, first thing, then maybe Elk on Friday.
-
I'm debating on whether to hit BB or Sno, Wednesday night. Anybody who went Tuesday, how are the conditions? I don't want to break out my rock skis again. I know at BB I won't have to, but I haven't been to Sno, since the real warm spell.
-
I can't remember them not running the lifts. Their lifts are fixed grip, so they are not affected like detachable lifts (hs quads, 6-packs).
-
Last year they closed down between 8 and 9 and re-groomed.
-
I always hit JF first thing, and get out of there by 10:30 - 11am.
-
If I go, it will be a non-holiday.
-
No. The last couple of years, I've been meaning to go, just to try it. Haven't heard anything this year. They don't maintain a conditions page.
-
That's the one bad thing about the main face of sno, it's really exposed and rain and warm get to it quickly. I know there's not really much that can be done about that....other than maybe put tarps over the slopes
-
Yeah, so we won't get as much as Lake Harmony.
-
I might head to Elk, Thursday or Friday, if it snows.
-
http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10497 As long as I get everything that I want, I'm actually pretty easy to please.
-
No, I went to JF. I was referring more to the upper part of the mountain, loosing snow quickly.
-
Just checked the conditions for Lake Harmony and it say that it is snowing. Checked out the JFBB cams and it does look like it is snowing . I'm still bummed that I will miss it tomorrow
-
It's now snowing in Lake Harmony
-
That's the start of it. There is an upper level shortwave coming in. The main low will develope off the coast of Cape Hatteras. That low will be the main storm. They are calling for another storm, Thursday and Friday. That storm is supposed to bring more snow inland.
-
A majority of that it virga, which will cool the atmosphere. The storm is still developing. That isn't the main storm.

Freshies tommorrow at Jack Frost

It looks like they anticipated it, since they posted for Monday already. -
I haven't taken any pictures of Sno, but I've only gone 4 times, so far. The snow seems to be disappearing really quick, compared to last year at Sno. I'm a little disappointed, so far . I think next year I'm only getting my JFBB pass.
-
3 to 6 is what is predicted for Lake harmony. More snow is also in the forecast for Thursday and Friday, for Lake Harmony.

I have to go to training, or I would be there . However, i'm off Thursday and Friday and they are calling for snow on those days....my luck that will change. -
I think the name is Crystal Lake, out by Montoursville. Other than that, I Belleayre is the only other place. I believe JF used to have trails, a few years ago.
-
I thought of that also. But remember, JF has two double chairs on East, which still equals four people at a time. There are two triple chairs on exhibition, which makes the equivalent of a six pack. The quad is also between them. Then to the west there are two more doubles. All of these lift service the mountain very well, in my opinion.
