  1. I just checked the conditions page for JF. It says that they are now blowing top to bottom on east mt. Almost all of the trails are now listed as having snow being blown on them. Heck, they even have it listed as blowing snow on their lifts oops. http://www.jfbb.com/winter-jf-trail-maps.aspx They have T-bolt listed as opening ungroomed. Hopefully, they groom half of it. I know last year, they ended up grooming it because people complained about not having it groomed, for early season. That cut down the number of advanced trails. Later in the season isn't too bad for letting it bump up. Not grooming it early kind of limits available terrain, for a lot of people.
  2. Yes.
  3. They might be going for deeper, edge to edge coverage, which would limit blowing on other trails. I know I would rather have better coverage and fewer trails open, than thinner coverage and more trails.
  4. Won't the azz pad give you away, or did you get rid of it?
  5. A little hit in ticket sale prices, by having a promo, could actually bring in customers. BB took the chance, with the weather, and seems to have done pretty good. Word gets out, about things like this, and it helps to bring in business. Half price tickets would help bring people to the mountain. If people like what they see, they are more likely to come back. They might actually make more money off of discounted tickets, by selling a lot more discounted tickets, then full price tickets.
  6. I wonder if the poor start and weather, last year, has anything to do with the full price .
  7. Thanks . I was actually thinking about pm'ing somebody to do this.
  8. This was for 12-5-07.
  9. Who's going? I plan on being there by 7:45 am. Hopefully they will groom early on Friday, since they are supposed to get some snow Friday night. It would be nice to open with some untracked, natural powder .
  10. There's not really too many places that discount tickets, when they open in Dec.
  11. I was thinking about going, first thing in the morning, but I know how infamous they are for their cookies on freshly opened trails. I don't know if I wanted to pay to have my teeth rattled loose. Plus, I'm not a morning person and it takes me a while to get into morning mode, for ski season. I plan on hitting JF, first thing Sat. am, and Sno on Sunday am. I don't know if I can handle three mornings in a row, yet. At least on Saturday and Sunday, I can recover, since I'm off.
  12. I took the day off from work and decided that I would use one of my free tickets, from last year. I ended up arriving a half hour late, because I turned onto 371, instead of 370, on my way, and had to back track . They were still blowing snow on some of the closed trails. It was 18 degrees and there was also about 3 inches of natural snow, at 9:30 am. It was also snowing lightly The snow on the top of Wanatuska was really powdery and would spray around, as you went through it. I spent the morning laping the top to bottom, opened runs. They also opened up a long, crusing trail Wednesday. There were also a lot of poach marks on the closed trails. People were poaching Belleayre run, even though they didn't blow on it yet. I got 17 runs in, over a 2.75 hour time period. That was enough, as my thighs started to remind me that this was the first time for being on some decent length trails.
  13. I picked my pass up tonight and I didn't see any guns on. Are they only blowing at night?
  14. I see they updated the trail maps for JF and BB. They put Jane's Lane is back on the map, which I always thought was a good blue trail, for free-sking.
  15. Now if it was written this way, I would have guessed it was about me: older, extremely handsome and almost ridiculously muscular man with no former wives...
  16. If it makes you feel better, your opinion does mean something. Sorry about the old part, that can't be helped .
  17. Too cold . Blue's opened before CB in the past.
  18. Sundays 3-8 = $20. (Sunday night special) http://www.jfbb.com/snopass.asp Midway down the page, below the midnight madness section.
  19. Where?
  20. I was hoping to get there at 8am, but was tired as hell and went back to bed. I got up at 5pm and went from 7-8. I thought everything was still in good condition. I did a few laps on Boulder, then spent the rest of the night laping Bunny's Schuss. The only thing I hated was my goggles froze up and I couldn't use them. I can't stand cold air and the snow they were making blowing in my face / eyes. Freedom is out of the way. Unless if the whole mountain is open, it's a pain to get to, since nothing really connects to it.
  21. As much as I dislike some of the things that BB has done, I give them credit for opening early and staying open late. I also like how they have not cluttered up the open runs, yet. Some people on here say that they don't want to spend $20 on a lift ticket, because BB is so small. $20 is a good deal, for a weekend pass. It's also better than not skiing at all. I would think that everything should be open, after this week.
  22. Looks like two people need vision check-ups. Look at the map again. In the center, under the blue square, it's labeled .
  23. No it doesn't...not on a Saturday night. $1 drinks and no cover can't be beat. The place gets packed, to the point that it's hard to move.
  24. No. This is only my 5th year.
