I just checked the web cam and they are really pumping out the snow.
-
I'm not quite ready yet, either.
-
I just saw on the news that a strong La Nina is developing, which deflects the jet stream to the north. This in turn means warm weather, with little snow for us. They are now predicting a warmer than usual winter . It's supposed to be in the 50's and 60's on Tuesday / Wednesday.
-
I might go, but I'm not sure. It might be too crowded for one slope and chair, for my liking.
-
Last year they turned Janes lane back into a regular slope, which is what that one should be. There's 5 days that the temps are in the high 20's. With the humidity, I don't think it would be good for blowing snow, with the fan guns.http://www.accuweather.com/forecast-15day....24&metric=0

Any information if they are going to get rid of all the parks at JF? Won't happen in the next two weeks. The current forecast doesn't have any sustained temps to make snow and the daytime temps are too warm. Belleayre probably won't even be able to do it. They will probably end up opening about the same time as last year, hopefully.

I wanted something that would get around better in the snow than my corolla. I also wanted something that wouldn't take a tank of gas to drive down the street.
-
I just got a 4wd Rav 4, so we probably won't get much snow .
-
70+ degrees and it's been mandatory to wear long sleaves at work, since the 15th .
-
A lot of reports are saying it should be warmer than average, but not as warm as last year....so at least that would be somewhat better.
-
The skiers and riders might not want the crowds, but I'm sure management wouldn't mind.

Southern part of upstate NY. Not too far over the PA border.

Ski & Snowboard Service Center Technician Needed
bigdaddyk replied to Ashleigh S's topic in Camelback
I don't. It's a part time job. It's one of the few perks that they could at least offer. The tech would probably be working a lot of the time, so it would be nice to have no restrictions on when they could ski / ride. -
I noticed that March madness doesn't start until 3-17-08, this season . This seems a little late, compared to other seasons. Places have closed at that time of the year, around here.
-
Sounds great. I'm definately glad I got a pass. Too bad not all of the mountains listen to their customers.
-
Thank you.
-
When was the last time you were there? Last year they didn't care. I skied under the lifts numerous times, once following a patroller. I even talked to a group of patrolers and they told me where the icier spots were. It was definately more of an open mountain.
-
I actually don't think they care, as long as you get off before you get down toward the loading area. I spoke to a patroler at BB, about skiing under lifts, and they told me that everything was fair game.
-
When you say "old," was that an actual trail at one time? I always thought it was an unofficial trail.
-
I'm pretty sure that last season they opened at 8am during the week. If you look at their rates page, they also have 8am to 12 noon listed as an option, during the week. I think they only opened at noon when they were Montage. I will be pissed if they open at noon, during the week. I called a few times to make sure that the pass I got was valid for 8 am in the mornings, during the week, and they said yes. Mornings are the only time I really get to go, because of my work schedule.
-
and I wasted my money getting a pass that covers Monday to Friday.
-
Already got mine.
-
Unless if they blow from right to left, for the new trails. I was kind of surprised that they spent the time and money to blow the whole width. They probably could have just done 3/4 of it.

This was one of the quickest off seasons for me, since I got back into going to sporting events. Now that football season is here, I'm concentrating on that more than skiing.
