CB would be the closest off of 80. Then Blue ( south of 80) and Sno (north of 80).

Snowmobile course.

Maybe, if it was Tuesday. I did two runs off of that lift on Tannenbaum, one of them was around that time. All of my other runs were off of the Merry Widow lift.

Mittl-weg isn't park and that will be open. Wow, where did that come from? They don't need to push snow off of any other trails to do that...boulder park already has enough. Plus it's really hard to build anything when it gets warm out. Next week it looks like temps might drop down a little, which would help.

I don't think they are open during the week, between March 25th and 31st. I think it's only weekends after this weekend. I'd call first to be sure. The website isn't too clear on this, but for some reason I think that I heard that it was weekends only, after this week. They'd do even better by opening in the morning. I hope they realize this and at least give it a try, after everybody closes. The thing that is making it really hard to take this year is that it is mid-winter conditions, right now. If the snow was brown, shitty, and bare, it wouldn't be quite as bad.....well maybe it would

JF has been getting a decent amount of people in the morning/ afternoon, for this time of year. I was at JF today and there were a few people there, which I was pleasantly surprised. More people go in the mornings at this time of the year...hence that's why a lot of places end night skiing. The more I thought of it, it wouldn't make sense to close JF and open BB in the mornings during the week. It probably would make more sense to close BB at night and just run JF during the day, during the week. I guess they just decided to ditch both of those options and run BB on weekends only. They told me that the hours would be the same on weekends, opening at 8am. So I'll be happy to get in my morning runs a few more times, after everybody else closes. I still think that once all of the other places close, BB could even do a decent business during the week. The fact that the season is coming to an end is disappointing .

I thought that JF had a good turnout today. At one point, I actually had to wait behind four groups of doubles to hit the East Mt. lift.

I'm still bummed that JF is closing this weekend . Oh well, I guess it's off to Blue for half price and maybe Sno, Elk, or CB and BB on weekends. They could actually have all of the trails open, except for Edelweiss, with the lifts that will be running. As long as Mittl-weg is open for free skiing, I'll be happy...that's my favorite one at BB.

It looks like I'll have to sport the face mask one more day . Its supposed to be 11 degrees at Lake Harmony, for first tracks on Wednesday. This could possibly be the last cold morning .

I highly doubt that this will be the last week for BB. They wouldn't be doing this, if they had any plans of closing any time soon. I look for them to compete with the NY resorts. If even one place would do this, I think that they would do OK, since they would attract the people who normally head north.

I just hope JF gets an influx of ticket buyers this week and that they stay open longer than the 25th . There is way too much snow there to just sit and melt away and I'm not ready to quit. Edit: I just saw on CB's web page that they plan to stay open up to April 1st weather permitting .

I noticed today at BB that a lot of the trails had frozen cord, with frozen ski/ board ruts in them and everything appeared to be a day old. It looked like they didn't re-groom some of the trails, maybe due to lack of traffic yesterday. I saw they re-groomed mittl-wedge, but kept it closed and it wasn't open when I quit . If that was the case, then comparing BB to JF, I would say that JF is pulling in more people, at this time. I was at JF on Monday, and the trails were skied off by afternoon and there were a few people there. I left around 6 today, from BB, and there didn't appear to be that many people there. That would lead me to believe that my theory of morning people outnumber the night people, at this time of the year, is correct. I could be wrong though, since I don't see the sales figures, but that is just my opinion.

I was trying figure out where I'll be the next few weeks, so I checked around to see when everybody is closing. This is what I was told: JF: Sunday, March 25 BB: At least Sunday, March 25...don't know about after that Blue: April 1st Sno: At least April 1st, maybe longer CB: Haven't decided yet. I can't believe JFBB is going to be the first to throw in the towel .

I was told that they are only closing the race trails and the rest of the mountain will be open, that weekend.

I'll be there at 3

I do the same...I've gone home with too many bruised legs.
-
I thought JF would be packed on Sunday...perfect day...but it wasn't.
-
Oh...I didn't notice anybody going down it.
-
No, not that one... I'm leary of hitting a rock or something and messing up my edges. I go through some of the other glades like mad tree or t-bolt or the ones under the lifts, because it's a little easier to see what's in there, from the trails. Where is vader...I'm sure I know about it, but never heard of the name.

A couple years ago, I had a similar incident at a resort. I started to knock over their loading sign with my poles, every time I would get on the chair. They finally said something to me and I told them to quit letting the chair slam my legs and I would quit whacking their signs...this worked.

Today had to be the best day of the year . I arrived at 7:45 am and found a way out onto the snow, having to go around huge piles of snow to get onto the slopes. JF received over 1 foot of nice, fresh snow . The blues were nicely groomed and soft like butter. Today, the diamonds were actually challenging. They had one or two groom passes down the centers, but the sides were left ungroomed. Tons of fresh powder were left on all of them. The "power line," the tree line between challenge and east mt, was getting hit up a few times. The glades were also in prime condition. River shot and lightning are unbeatable on a day like today, three headwalls of deep powder .

From what I've been hearing BB will be the last to go out of the two. I was told they are also staying open during the snowmobile races, which is something they haven't done in the past.
-
The main reason they closed was because of the threat of thunderstorms. If they would have opened, they would have had to shut down if they did get a t-storm, so I don't think it was a really bad choice for one day. Anyway, we just recently had a t-storm come though in central PA.

Last time I was there was on Monday and coverage was excellent, there was still a lot of natural snow. I've been out sick the last two days and haven't been there since the really warm weather, so I don't know about now. Saturday and Sunday should be decent, since they are supposed to get some snow. They also always do a good job re-grooming, after shitty spells like this.

Maybe I should have thought, before being sarcastic. I have a feeling that if this would happen, I'd be getting an ass beating .
