  1. I haven't done one of these in a while, so I figured this would be my last chance for JF, this year. I woke up at 6:30 and was beat, after working until 1am, Sat. night, so I went back to sleep and didn't get to JF until 9:20. Didn't really matter, because the place was pretty empty, except for a group that was in one park. The first hour or so, the snow was firm, with sugar on top. It was cloudy and 37 degrees, until the sun popped out, around 10:30. It didn't take long for the snow to soften up. I bounced around the place and ate lucnh around 12:30. I came back out at about 1pm and the snow was even softer, and a little sticky in spots. I hit east mt., until about 3pm. East was in good shape. You had to stay to the left or right, once you hit the run out. The center seemed like somebody hit the area with a glue gun. I went back toward the center of the mountain and hit the center trails and lapped exhibiiton, until they closed the place down, after 40 runs. The center trails were in good shape, and weren't really sticky. Overall, it was a beautiful day and the conditions were pretty good (sugar to hero snow). Wow, where did the JF season go?
  2. You missed out then. Lehigh was in better shape than exhibition. It was silky smooth , first thing in the morning and stayed soft, but not mushy, the rest of the day. Lehigh has been in surprisingly great shape, the last week.
  3. I think there might have been a few more people than that. I got there at 9 and it was 25 degrees. By the time I left at 3:30, it was 45. The snow held up really nice. Firm, fast cord in the morning, and nice soft snow in the afternoon. I bounced around the whole mountain and left after 42 runs.
  4. It's the mositure content of the snow and water laying on it, that causes the jerking of your skis.
  5. I wonder if Sno Cove will actually open this year?
  6. You got passes for both JFBB and Blue?
  7. The home page says that the weather and the opening of Sno Cove is one of the reasons they closing.
  8. For as brutal as Jan. was, March really stunk. I think I've mentioned that before, though.
  9. This March's weather and temps have been horrible. I hate this time of the year...I really hate it
  10. No weekends at BB? I was kind of wonder why they quit doing the March madness tickets for JF and BB.
  11. I had to work dayshift today. I was going to go to BB, but figured the snow would be way too heavy/ mushy at the bottom for my liking, by the time I got there.
  12. Got an email from Blue stating that March 22 is the closing date. JF posted the same .
  13. I usually am on the opposite side of the mountain that you are and I'm usually gone by 11am.
  14. I also took time for a 25 minute lunch break and to throw some money back to JF, in hopes of keeping them open longer .
  15. The only bad spot was the "rock", on river shot, which they ended up putting bamboo over. Other than that, everything was really nice . It's nice, being off work for a day and being able to just putz around the whole mountain.
  16. That's what I was hearing today.
  17. Whole mountain was nice today. Only places where there was slush were at the top and bottom. The trails stayed really nice. Ended up with 41 runs, open to close. BTW R2, nice jacket . I noticed it when you were on the double chair. I waited at the bottom, but you must have went over to exhibition to the triple chairs, so I headed to east mt.
  18. I might go, if they have anything groomed. I'm not a big fan of bumps, so driving three hours for bumps might not happen.
  19. Check out Hunter's web site. They are honoring any season pass on April 5, 2009!
  20. That's what I've heard.
  21. Make sure you check before going. I just looked at the web site and they are closed until Friday.
  22. Sno is already closed mid week . Check the website before going.
  23. JADIP. From looking at my stats from past years, this is typically the last week. Two years ago, there was a foot of snow on St. Patrick's day and I remember hardly anybody skiing. They closed shortly after that and there was more snow at that time, then there is now. Around here, people just seem to disappear in March...it's a shame. From asking around today, nothing official has been set.
  24. For the conditions for Tuesday, 3-16-09, I saw the snow making icons highlighted green, for JF....then I noticed that all trails are marked as closed. Oops, wrong icons highlighted
  25. In past seasons, Lehigh seemed to be one of the trails that would lose snow and have to be closed. Today, Lehigh had the best snow, especially first thing .
