I'd call them and ask about that. I'm only going by what the web page says, which says All Day ticket or a Family Night Ticket.
-
It says $25, under their specials section. Which isn't too bad, for six hours and for having the trails re-groomed. Also, I'm sure it won't be really crowded.
-
Updated info on midnight madness is posted on the web page under announcements. If you're going, I'd check it out to make sure you know what's going on. http://www.jfbb.com/home.asp[/url]

I guess each gun serves it's own purpose and if you have both types, you can't go wrong.
-
I just thought of something. I could get two days in at once, by skiing until after midnight .

Whoever didn't go to JF on Saturday missed a good morning, despite the light rain. Conditions were fast, first thing, and the snow was nice and soft. The rain kept the large crowds away. Matter of fact, I think I might have been one of the only people on East Mt., except for the patrolers, for the first 45 minutes or so. I was sort of surprised at how much snow disappeared over the last day. I'm not worrying though, because according to the website, they should have all but three trails open by the 20th. I talked to a patroler and he told me that they plan on blowing whenever possible next week...the last few days they were turning the guns off when the mt. opened. Hopefully things work out, I'm looking forward to more trails .
-
I think they are quieter than the other snow guns. The one in the pic looks really low to the ground, or is that just an illusion? I noticed at JFBB, if the temps are marginal, the fans don't seem to make snow as good as the tri-pod guns. I noticed on marginal days, they already lined parts of east mt, with the tri-pods, even though it has the fans. I guess that's the only down side to them. Next week shouldn't be an issue though....hopefully.

This could be an unofficial PASAR day. You'd also have to put pics on the daily photo page.

Sounds like a bad thread from the old CB board . BTW...... NO
-
If I knew a little more, I might head to Sno, but right now it looks like I will be going to JF. Sno might be crowded on Friday.
-
I'll be at JF first thing on Friday, for fresh Pocono powder. Not sure what time or where I'll be Sat. and Sun. It depends on the weather. They are calling for snow during parts of the day and rain during the other parts during the weekend. Right now, they are calling for snow after 10pm on Sunday...if that holds, I'll be there for midnight madness.
-
It's still better than nothing. Did you watch the video? It looked like they were working on more than that.
-
Is that good or bad? From the WNEP video, it looked like they blew on quite a bit of the mt. For the first day, they are doing a lousy job of updating the website. I tried the phone, but got the same "check the website" recording .
-
I checked with BB today, and they said that they are closing at 8 to re-groom, then open back up at 9pm
-
Anybody know what trails will be open? The website still isn't updated.
-
They haven't blown snow on any new trails, since opening day. The trails that they do have open are in excellent shape. Next week should be when they start to work on new trails and hopefully get them open.
-
WNEP's website has the video up from the noon, Thursday broadcast. It's around the 6:30 mark of the footage.
-
I was just watching a replay of the noon news on one of Channel 16's news stations because I saw them fly over JF today. They did a segment on the ski areas and showed them grooming the slopes at Sno. They also said that Sno plans to open Friday at noon. Here's a segment from the WNEP website. " The snow guns at Sno Mountain Resort in Scranton are going full blast. After postponing the opening of the ski resort formally known as Montage Mountain three times, management said they will open the slopes Friday at noon."
-
They blew a shit load of snow this week. The rain and temps this weekend aren't supposed to be as bad as last weekend.
-
I skied JF from 9-12:15 today and the snowmakers made a lot of snow on the mountain. Challenge was left ungroomed and was sweet. Lots of powder and whales to get air off of. I was a little skeptical at first, but the snow was dry and did not put you over the handle bars. I ran 20 of my 22 runs on Challenge. The edges were loaded with powder and stayed nice all morning . East Mt. was not open, but they were getting it ready for Friday. The parks were supposed to open around noon, but I did not take notice if they were open, when I left. I think today ranked up around one of the best days for me .
-
I don't do the features in the parks, but the snow has been really good the last couple days and the trails are in good shape.
-
. "to JFBB" should have probably been added to the end of the title. Welcome to the board njkyle. Stick with us and you will learn that we think in weird ways.

Anybody going to frost Thursday 1-10
bigdaddyk replied to bigdaddyk's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
The more I think of it, I'll probably end up there first thing. Challenge ungroomed with these temps might not be too bad. -
I was just checking the conditions page and they are opening Challenge again on Thursday, ungroomed w/ machine packed powder. I might head there instead of BB. For as cold as what it has been, it shouldn't be too bad first thing in the morning...just be careful not to go over the handle bars. They are holding East. Mt. till Friday .

I was going to say, I grew up and lived in Danville, PA for 24 years, and the only mountains there are part of the Appalachians. I never recalled Blue Mt. being there, unless if plate tech tonics moved it .
