  1. Does this mean that they don't plan on making the additional parks. Not to piss people off, but like I posted before, I think the number of people who don't do parks outnumber the amount of people who do at JFBB. Merry Widow is a popular trail for freesking and I could see where they could have got complaints on turning this into a park.
  2. Yeah, Monday...my days have been mixed up this week
  3. Like I posted in the other topic. There's a lot of cats dropping dead. Everybody should know by now that nothing remains a secret on here.
  4. I was thinking this also. They could have opened this last weekend with the same amount of snow as next weekend .
  5. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. JF&BB always had really good snow and the conditions always seem to stay good. I knew the improvements would sky rocket the snowmaking and quality. I'm still a little disappointed in the way the season pass thing went. It would be nice to get some of the discount perks back. As long as the snow conditions keep improving, I can learn to live with the pass thing ( I can't believe I just said that ).
  6. Today was my first trip for JF this year. I was impressed with the amount and quality of snow. They did a lot of upgrading for snow making, some that only frequenters would notice. The race slope (Challenge) was sweet. They put the new pole fans on this slope and anybody who does nastar will love this. There was also a small area where there was enough snow off of the slope, where you could go through some trees. East Mt. was decent, a lot of snow.... four new pole fans, plus something different that I haven't seen. They put the nozzles that go on the small tri-pods, onto elevated arms that swivel out over the slopes on parts of East Mt. and Thunderbolt. I would imagine that this would improve the snow quality and save a lot of time lugging the tripods around. I also noticed tower guns mounted on Solitude and Demattes. I don't remember those being there last year. There are also new pole fans on the park slopes and beginner areas. The snow was soft and really carvable. I don't do park stuff, so I'm useless for reporting on that.
  7. Like a friend of mine said, you get over the guilt after the first couple of times....except he was referring to the perverted aspect . If you go by yourself, there's less pressure of having to agree on what you do.
  8. These temps are starting to get annoying. It is usually 5 to 7 degrees colder at BB, than where I live. Right now it is 30 degrees at my house and 38 at BB , the complete opposite of what it usually is. This has been a really strange start to winter
  9. Anybody go to JF on Saturday 12-9-06? I decided to sleep in, since I had to work and was out the last three nights at BB. Plus I'm still dealing with a damn head cold that won't seem to go away
  10. I actually saw a lift ticket laying by the Tannenbaum lift, on Friday night. I wonder if they changed something with the sticker. I read somewhere on here about somebody using zip ties, instead of the metal wickets. They didn't switch from the wickets, did they?
  11. We don't want a report, when you get to trade in the ticket for the free pirze
  12. They act like it's going to be 90 degrees. Once it's groomed and packed down, it's not going to melt any quicker. I wonder if they are hoping that all of the other resorts will loose their bases, then they will open and say that they were the smart ones, because they waited . Then again, maybe the much anticipated early winter snowstorm never arrived, so they aren't able to open with enjoyable conditions . It's getting harder to figure out CB.
  13. My concern would be if they linked here, would all of the spammers follow onto this site? They also really need to follow somebody other than Britnet Spears
  14. Definately sounds like jealousy, what other reason was there to post this. PS... opening with a pipe is rare for anybody to do, since it is more of a priority to get the mountain open first.
  15. As far as selection goes, Friday wasn't quite as good as the last two days, because they had a few of the trails closed for grooming and snowmaking. They closed boulder trail while I was there. The only thing I could think would be because there were a few large areas of ice, due to the wind blowing the snow off. They were making a shit load of snow and it was not sticky, like usual. It was 21 degrees and the snow that was being blown was dry and powdery. The top part of Merry Widow was closed and they were blowing snow and grooming it, at the time. When I first got there around 3:30, the Merry Widow lift was running, but you had to go off to the left. When they closed the Boulder slope, you could only go down Bunny's elbow/ shuss. The triple chair was also closed, so you had to skate or hike back up to the Merry Widow lift. Therefore, I stayed on Tannenbaum, little boulder, and lower part of Merry Widow, so I don't know if the stuff to the east opened up later. Other than the wind, which died down during the day, the snow was pretty good.
  16. BB has everything except for 3 main trails open. There is a shit load of snow and they are still blowing. The snow is really dry and powdery. There is some ice, because of the wind blowing the snow around, but by tommorrow, that shouldn't be an issue
  17. Did he know that it fell off? If so, he should have taken it to get a new one. I could see where the manager wouldn't believe this, if they did catch a lot of people without tickets and its usually inpossible to get the tickets off. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you have to look at it through their perspective, if they where having problems.
  18. I think I saw you on Boulder. I'm thinking about going Friday and skipping JF on Saturday. I have a feeling that the weekend might be more crowded than what I will like, for what JF says they will have open. But then again, last year they opened with more than what the web site advertised.
  19. The conditions were excellent again. There was also a light coating of natural snow, until it got really windy at the end of the night. They didn't open anything new, because they didn't get to blow anything last night. I talked to a snowmaker, as they were prepping the fans, and he said they are now going to start concentrating on putting a base down on the closed trails and blow additional snow on the open trails.
  20. I left at 7:30 and it was down to 21 degrees. They weren't blowing yet, but had all of the fans turned on to warm/ defrost them. I think they were holdin off so they could blow toward closing.
  21. I must be the only person they are checking, then. Tonight, once again, I got stopped at a different lift and by a different liftie and was told that I had to validate my pass and get a lift ticket and they seemed confused when I had to explain the VIP pass. The reason I got it was to avoid the inconvienence, but I'm now starting to wonder if it would have been easier to save the $100 and get the regular pass. Management better clear this up. It's not the lifties' fault, it's whoever is not passing this info along to the employees.
  22. Hmmm could it possibly be???????????? Since Doug has a good memory, I had a blue and black jacket on and blue volkl energy skis.
  23. When you took her to the top of the mountain, did you take her on the Boulder slope by the triple chair? That had some really nice snow on it.
  24. It was the last week that Blue was open. I can't recall if I asked them if they were on here or not. Does it sound like anybody you know there?
  25. The few days I was there last year, I met some unique people on the lifts. I remember two guys getting on and right away one of them started talking to me and told him about the way he was there with his "boyfriend," meaning the other guy. It was kind of funny because he kept talking about "all of the things they do" and the other guy just sat there and looked at his friend like he was going to kick his ass. The other guy apologized for the way his buddy was acting. I sort of felt bad for laughing, so I told him that it was ok, because my friends were idiots also .
