  1. They all have MCskiALOT's name on them?........ sorry, it's corny but I couldn't resist
  2. You don't have to validate your pass or get tickets, with the VIP pass. The only downfall is that it is more expensive. I figured for the amount of times that I go, it would be worth it for me because I'm too impatient/ lazy.
  3. I saw both of you on Tannenbaum when you where telling her to slow down as she was flying down toward the bottom of the slope. If I would have known that was you at the time, I would have introduced myself. I did a few runs down that side and had on a blue/black jacket and brownish colored helmet. I got a kick out of watching an instructor teaching a man and woman and the woman just wasn't getting it. I heard the instructor say that she couldn't ride the chair back down . It almost seemed that fear was holding the lady back. That's something that a lot of little kids seem to lack. You always see them straight lining down slopes and pray that they stop before going through the lodge .
  4. Never mind on that. I just remembered tonight, that 20 minutes into the ride home, I'm ready to hit the bed. It always happens no matter what time I go skiing. It must have something to do with being out on the snow and cold. I might head to Blue for a change, if I go to Boulder again on Thursday. I need to start putting some faces with names on here. I feel like I know people, but don't.
  5. I got a VIP pass, which you don't have to get lift tickets, you go directly to the slope. Evidently they didn't explain this well to the lift attendants and there must be confusion for them. I got stopped tonight and they told me I had to still get a lift ticket , even though it is a VIP pass . After a short, polite conversation and explaining that I didn't pay $100 more to have to get lift tickets each day, I was allowed to continue onto the lift and didn't even get an apology. Other than that, everything was great.
  6. Anybody have any idea how crowded it will be at 8:30 on Friday. I'm off and might think about going. Only thing that might keep me from going is that BB is open and I have a pass for there. But then again, I could do Blue early, then head to BB when they open.
  7. 2.5 to 3 days of snowmaking is a little early to have big jumps. They'll get to them.
  8. I'm going
  9. How was the snow? It looked like they were blowing snow while they were open, from looking at the web cam.
  10. Last year they opened with more than was advertised
  11. That's what it's about
  12. BB's conditions page is updated. It says their base debth right now is 24"
  13. I doubt if anybody local will have reduced tickets this weekend when they open, so be glad that the mountains are opening. BB' s conditions page is updated....
  14. Please share.........
  15. If you're coming up from A-town, you might be better coming up the T-Pike and get off at the Lake Harmony exit. Two choices from there: (1) From the T-pike exit, you can turn left (east) onto 940 and go until you get to the red light. At the light, turn right and go through Split Rock (if you turn left you end up at JF). Be careful, because there are deer and windy turns and you have to pay attention to the small wording on the signs for BB, plus don't forget .25 for the private resort roads. (2) The least confusing way from the T-pike at Lake Harmony exit might be to get on I-80 exit 277 east until you get to exit 284 of 80, then follow the signs. Last year, I talked to a lady at Blue who said she took a bunch of side roads from Lake Harmony, to get to Blue. I have no idea how that would be quicker.
  16. I forgot all about that...so they should have discounts in effect. I always try to call, before going to a different place just to be sure, because I know that some of the websites aren't updated the best. Check out the college discount, if it applies to you.
  17. Did you try to call and talk to a live person? I don't think you will be disappointed. My gut feeling says they will have most of the mountain open.
  18. Awesome video clip. Can you imagine skiing down the trail with the white outs at the 29 and 33 second mark in the video From that small clip, it looks like they are blowing on all trails. They might not be opening with only "limited" terrain. Last year they opened with the whole mountain, if I remember correctly. I'm past the hating part and just want to ski.
  19. I doubt it. Look at it this way...I'd rather pay full price then put a lot more money into gas and travel time by driving to NY. Also, the money is going toward a good thing. Without the money, it is harder to open earlier. Also, last year, they advertised that they were blowing snow on certain trails, but by opening day there were more trails open than what it appeared that they would have.
  20. They are probably going to be the first in PA to open, aren't they?
  21. I have a damn cold, feel like shit, and have to work Tuesday . I hope I feel better to get there on Wednesday.
  22. Check to see if they can give you a comp. ticket, if you bring ID and if they can look it up on a computer. I thought BB could do the passes, once they opened, unless if that changed or I misunderstood it?
  23. The early part of the season is when a lot of pass holders are anxious to go, so you would think that they would try to open early in order to attract more pass holders. It's almost like passholder are paying to ski, really early in the season. Waiting to open just angers the passholders who already spent a lot of money. Paying customers aren't affected as much, because they didn't already dump a ton of money into a pass. I already feel like I paid for my $8 order of fries and chicken fingers . But then again, I stuck with JFBB, despite not liking the pass holder changes.
  24. I was wondering about this also. The only thing I could think of is they want to open with a lot of trails, so they can say that they "opened" with the most trails, even though other resorts will have opened a week before.
  25. I think by Saturday, they could have close to the whole mountain open. I'm sure they will have something for everybody open.
