  1. Yeah, I know. Accuweather seems to be one of the most unreliable sources for long range forecasts, but it's nice to see these type of forecasts appearing.
  2. From accuweather for Lake Harmony Sunday, Oct 22 More Details Rain or snow showers possible Low: 33
  3. The tower fans that BB put in actually oscilate...at least the ones at the top of the mountain that I saw running. I actually thought the fans were supposed to be more efficient, since they don't require air to be pumped to them .
  4. The website says that SMI guarantees that 193 new snowmaking guns will be complete by the beginning of the season...man they are going to have to bust there ass to get that done. Does anybody know if these are the fans, or just tower guns? They have pictures of fans, but I know SMI has other types.
  5. Where did they get the snow from?
  6. Maybe the icon would have been a better choice.
  7. ^^ That was stated sarcastically.
  8. It looks like the lower half. I don't see this being a good trail for a park, because of the drop off toward the bottom and it's kind of narrow. Unless if the plan on putting jumps on it.
  9. My point is that if they reduce the number of regular trails and say that they welcome anybody on the trails that they turn into parks, then that should almost be expected.
  10. I saw on the web page that they have a job fair date listed.
  11. I see that JFBB has put a link to PASAR, on their terrrain park web page.
  12. The more I thought about it, turning other trails into parks helps add variety to the trails for us skiers who don't use the features. The approach mounds can also function as nice little jumps .
  13. I can see it now....somebody needs ski patrol, but nobody can respond because they are waiting to get their pass validated . So far they haven't listened to their ( past ) customers, so I highly doubt that they will listen to their employees. Most businesses will make changes to please the customer, but don't care as much if the employees make the suggestion. If Sno Mountain puts in similar fans and guns, they'll take away a lot of customers since they aren't doing anything stupid like forcing their pass holders to get a ticket each time. I still think there is some type of motive behind validating the pass, other than trying to cut down on scamming.
  14. They turned Merry Widow into a park, so they don't really have much choice than to let regular skiers into the parks, since it would now limit the amount of trails and they would hurt themselves in ticket sales. I don't see how Merry Widow would be a good trail for a park.
  15. Now that it seems that all of the bullshit appears to be over, is there enough time to do any upgrades? It looks like they intend on adding fans similar to those that JFBB put in. If that's the case, they probably will have to also upgrade the pumps and pipes, like JFBB did. Anybody sense a countersuit for the hardships and delays?
  16. I thought the same thing. From looking at the site, I think they are just the prices and they don't appear to be selling them yet, at least it doesn't look like they are doing any online.
  17. I would hope that they would not increase the prices that much, this year, if they don't get to do any of the upgrades until next year.
  18. I didn't even know that there was an updated website. They should make Montage's site re-direct you. I bet there are a lot of people who aren't aware of this. It might also be time to change the links on PASAR.
  19. It's gonna be even weirder if he takes this advice and "takes them off on the lift" .
  20. That would definately be suicide for a place that is trying to make a turn around.
  21. I think the rental ban is because a lot of people using rentals are inexperienced, although there are still experienced people who get season rentals.
  22. It depends on lift lines. Usually 7-8 an hour. To do it right, you would need at least two high speed quads, due to the layout of the mountain. JF is actually pretty wide, compared to the other resorts. East mountain would need one of their own and one could go around the area of the triple chairs.
  23. The one nice thing that I like about JF is the "out west" feel. I can't think of any other PA resorts that allow as much off trail or tree skiing as JF. I also like little cliff huck. For those of you not familiar with that "trail," its an out-croping from a bank that they blow snow on. It provides about a 10 foot high cliff to ski down, and/ or jump up onto or off of. I just wish they would lower the price difference between the regular season pass and the VIP pass, because I don't intend on getting a pass that I have to get a ticket every day and I'm not sure if I want to waste $100 more on getting a VIP pass...I might be able to tolerate $50 more.
  24. Never mind...I checked old maps and it is also on them.
