  1. Edelweiss (Freedom Park) trail could be blocked off from the ski school slope by putting up a snow fence and making everybody from the park use the Edelweiss chair. Also, the area where Boneyard is located used to be a 1/4 pipe...if that is put back, then it won't be that bad being by tannenbaum. But then again, a lot of the changes, this year, are hard to comprehend.
  2. I'm not. It pisses me off that they are forcing these changes and not listening to their customers. Has anybody else sent emails, that have gone unanswered? JFBB = "Just Forget 'Bout Benefits"
  3. I put mine in a regular ski bag and put the back seat down. I also attach a chain to the bag and attach it to the car frame in the trunk, so it won't fly forward. I don't think I would want to put my skis on my roof, at least not without putting them in a bag first, because of all of the grime and stones that could kick up from the road.
  4. I wonder why it's taking two years to complete the new trail ?
  5. I forgot to mention losing the preferred parking. I had the same spot every time I went .
  6. I'm looking @ the $50 increase, or $150 if you get the VIP pass, and the loss of food discount, gift shop discount, and repair shop discount...which I used a lot to get waxes. If you can convert the two free passes into money to be used on the debit card, then the food discount won't be an issue.
  7. I did a little comparing among the rates of the other ski resorts to see if JFBB's are as bad as what I first thought, and the more I look at them and compare them, they aren't 1. For JFBB, there is no morning pass...you have to get a whole day pass, but a "morning pass only" at other resorts is only around $3 less that an entire day pass at JFBB. This could be good, because if you decide to stay longer, you already have an all day pass. 2. An entire day pass at other resorts can be around $8 more that JFBB, some don't have all day passes. So in the long run, the rates aren't that bad when you compare and analyze. I still don't like the season pass deal, though.
  8. Actually, from what I've heard, they do get a decent amount of people who stay there.
  9. I just looked at the weekly specials and they look ok. The military discount looks really good and the two student days look decent, along with the other specials.
  10. Seems like they are trying to go the opposite way with everything.
  11. The passholder lines better open early, but I doubt that they will because nobody is listening to us. I've even called, and was told that these changes were going to go into effect. Even emails have gone unanswered. They don't seem to realize, or are ignorant, to the fact that you don't bite the hand that feeds you. Makes me wonder if this isn't just a way to track how many times pass holders use their pass, so they know how much to charge next year. Heck, I wonder if it will flag when you reach the amount that you paid for the pass. I'm starting to think about it this way, it might be worth getting a pass because it might be an empty mountain.
  12. I just checked out Windham's website and saw that they are adding a new lift and new trails. I wonder if they will make you get a new lift ticket every time you want to use the new lift......
  13. From looking at the website, it looks like Frost is open until 4pm on Christmas Eve and both are closed Christmas day, which I have no problem with because I'm sure the employees want to be with their families. Also, I noticed that both midnight madness Sundays are during holidays. Unless if they re-groom, its going to be hell skiing between 9pm and 3am, after the entire day of holiday traffic. Although, I'll probably be dumb enough to do it, just to ski until 3 am.
  14. JF is opening at their normal times of 9am M-F and 8 am on weekends. A couple of the diamonds at BB are short, but can be nice runs when you want a quick fix.
  15. From a financial aspect, I can see why BB isn't going to be open until 3pm, since JF is open 9-4. It would consolidate everybody onto one mountain. But from a customer standpoint of having choices, it sucks.
  16. I guess if I would have checked the hours page, I would have seen that BB has two midnight madness sessions planned. This will be different, but could be more interesting if they had it a JF : Sunday, January 14, 2007: 9pm - 3am Sunday, February 18, 2007: 9pm - 3am I also noticed that Boulder is listed as not opening until 3pm Monday through Friday . At least it would mean that lazy people who hate getting up early, like me, could still get first tracks.
  17. As long as it is re-groomed it won't be bad, but I don't see them grooming it at night, then again in the morning.
  18. Yeah, if I go at ten at night, do I have to get another ticket at midnight I think it might have been one of the peak resorts, but I might be wrong, but I saw that it had a midnight madness special and they were open till 3 am. I'm not blaming Heather, I think that she is just the messanger being told to try to get the customers to understand. I used to be in retail and I am familiar with this. Somebody sits behind a desk and doesn't listen to their "messangers." They tell you to do your job and it is your job to get the public to like it. If the public refuses to accept the changes, then it is "your fault." That's one reason I got our of retail. I hope the message can get relayed to peak resorts and hopefully they will understand. If anything, give us a year to see the changes, so we know what to expect, then maybe some changes would be accepted. Although I don't think that standing in line for a pass everyday will ever be accepted.
  19. From the JFBB website " Midweek Specials Military Appreciation Week Family Night Civil Service Mondays College Days Midnight Madness and much more " Does this mean it will be open past midnight?
  20. It's not just having to wait in line. $50 is a huge rate increase, especially with the economy and gas proces. It's also about losing the meal discount, the gift shop discount, the repair shop discount, and not having a preferred parking lot anymore. The two free passes do me no good. Will we be able to have the value of those passes added to the JFBB bucks, to use for meals? I realize that it's probably not anybody at JFBB who is responsible for these changes, but can you please get somebody from Peak Resorts to realize the problems that people are having with these changes? Also, I'm not a "park rat", and nothing against those who are, but the new rails don't mean much to me and if the new snow fans are only on the trails with the parks, like boulder was last year, they won't mean much either. Thank you.
  21. I was just thinking the same thing about no high speed lifts, etc. I also used to like getting my skis waxed with the pass discount. I doubt they will keep a dedicated window on weekends, althought they might not need it because I think they are going to lose customers with the ticket increases and the elimination of some types of tickets. They took all of the benefits of having a pass away and I doubt they are going to listen to their customers. This appears to be something that they are going to try to cram down our throats. Peak Resorts seems to be dedicated in keeping these changes.
  22. Heather- Right now, the thing I can't understand is why there is a $100 difference between the VIP and regular season pass, when the other Peak Resorts hills have a smaller difference, and wouldn't it be just as easy to pass the credit card to somebody else to use. I always dress at my car and have my goggles, mask, etc on, so the picture wouldn't do much good. I hope they don't intend on making you take all of this off first, to verify the picture or else there will be a lot of unhappy campers.
  23. I WAS saying the same thing and hoping to see them, but I don't know, now.
  24. I'm debating between Camelback and Blue. It takes me an hour to get to Camelback. It takes an hour and 20 minutes to get to Blue. The only thing against Blue is that if it snows, the roads and Turnpike might be more difficult, because CB would be a straight shot on I-80. I hope somebody sees the problem at JFBB and straightens this out, becuase it only takes 45 minutes for me to get there and I would like to keep them my home mountain, but I won't if they do stupid stuff like this. I just can't see how they don't realize that jacking up the prices and taking away benefits deters customers. Keeping the prices the same, or lower them, would bring in more people, hence more money. For example, only 100 people go at $40 = $4000. 200 people go at $30= $6000. I used to be in retail for 12 years, and its not to hard to figure out that SCREWING your customers is not the way to make them happy. Once you lose them, a lot of them will not come back, no matter what you do in the future. I guess I should start looking for some bags to pack, because I'm not buying a pass to be inconvienenced and I'm not rich enought to be a "VIP." I also don't understand why its $100 difference between a season pass and a pass that allows you to go right onto the slopes. The difference is not that large at the other resorts, according to their rates pages.
  25. Don't hold your breath. I just checked the other resorts websites that Peak Resorts own, and they do this with their season passes at all of their other resorts. However, their prices at JFBB are more expensive than the other resorts that they own.
