  1. Well for me its a $$ issue right now. Nothing is open... they're essentially holed up in their dorm rooms taking virtual classes. They can't go anywhere, meet anyone etc. Gyms are closed. Rec center is closed, no sports. The school will (as I understand it) offer some sort of rebate if she were to leave by a certain date (need to call them today). If that's the case then it may be time if it means you can do the same thing at home while saving quadruple digits.
  2. Correct. Been that way for a while
  3. I'd be shocked if I'm not rebooking my flight and heading out much sooner than December. Pretty much on standby right now with the way covid is surging on campus. I'll get to Snowbowl at some point.
  4. That may be the craziest forecast I've ever seen.
  5. Just spent $70 plus tax yesterday on a 3 inch toy (collectable). Should've thought twice about that since I'm poor.
  6. Lol. Guess I'm poor then because I don't really plan on not skiing Line.

Technically you can ride trees at Blue but let's be honest...does a few turns on Blue Baumer before ducking out count as riding trees?
  10. Some insight from sugarbush. Mentions the VT quarantine rule and how having no gondola is an advantage for them. https://www.sugarbush.com/blog/wins-word/so-what-is-going-to-happen-this-winter/?fbclid=IwAR2-iFpNvKHytMqlhJADEBvhaEaYkhEVLm6426T6zzTMSS4U4Ou-5p-zi5g By contrast...no mention of quarantine https://www.whiteface.com/side-tracks/letter-our-valued-guests Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
  11. The gondola changed everything at Belle. It's skis bigger. I'll be in AZ a lot for the foreseeable future RidetheFirstStatetoSignthe DeclarationofIndependance. My kid goes to school there. AZ is awesome so all good there.
  12. Wow...I thought Belle's numbers would be the highest of the three. Turns out they're the lowest.
  13. Sounds weird in the skison thread but booked AZ for December. Hope Snowbowl is good early season.
  14. If you're night skiing, BB will get old quick...unless you're into park skiing. Blue is probably twice the size. Like GSS said...Blues lifts (when operational) are high speed. JFs lifts move at a snail's pace. Supposedly Vail has a plan for that though. Trails at Blue are longer and more interesting. Theres nothing like Nightmare Dream, Sidewinder, Razors etc at Frost. If you're from New England you'd probably appreciate the twisty turny stuff Blue has. To be fair. Frost has better snow. Happy land (challenge glade) is unique to this area and lots of fun. If the off trail stuff on East Mountain is still a thing (elevator, risk it, mad trees, e glade etc.) that too is pretty cool but supposedly they aren't maintaining that stuff anymore.
  15. He was very meticulous. Didn't rush through it. I felt $10 was warranted.
  16. Oh to add to my TR... I paid with my phone. I love it when I pay with my phone the employees at the place where I'm paying (using my phone) are completely blown away because I paid using my phone. Next time I'll really blow their minds and pay with my watch.
  17. Absolutely... Pulled into the lot around 7:15. It was about 73 degrees under cloudy skies. Conditions were great for a night sesh cut. Walked into the salon to 0 lines. Put on mask and got seated. Told my stylist that I wanted a #1 on the sides with a little length up top...he then asked me how I was doing to which I said good. He then went on to tell me how wearing a mask for 8 hours was rough...to which I empathised. 20 minutes or so later I was done. Paid and gave a $10 tip before leaving. Great night sesh. In fact was top 5 sesh for the season. Pic below...
  18. But yes...GSS makes everything a Blue thread.
  19. It's only a matter of time. I was once a JFBB passholder, even an instructor.
  20. Got my hair cut for the first time in over 5 months tonight (not counting me cutting it myself). Feels amazing.
  21. Chair doesn't bother me as much. A packed gondola with people I don't know does. You can work around that at WF though. At Belle however the gondola is almost a necessity.
  22. Interesting...
  23. Only reason why I'm waiting to book flights to AZ in Dec. Who knows if I'll need to get out there sooner if things start shutting down again.
