  1. He totally set himself up for that
  2. Because you don't really ski on snow at Elk. Instead you're actually skiing on flakes of white gold which were mined in Vermont and imported to Clark's Summit PA. There the "snow" is pasteurized and homogenized for skiing then shipped to Elk for distribution on its slopes which, by the way, were hand cut a few hundred years ago as part of a peace treaty by the indigenous people of Northeastern Pennsylvania and the European settlers. The reason that the lifts are slow at Elk (and not many people know this) is because they have a colony of smurfs actually living under the mountain (known simply as "Smurf Village" to the locals) that manually spin the lifts via a system of pulleys. The smurfs demand a fair wage and rightly so! So think about that $800 now and you'll see that you're actually getting a great deal!
  3. So much truth in this post. Sally your not allowed to leave.
  4. Welcome to PASR Deewelch.
  5. Certainly looked like it.
  6. Hahahahahahaha But I thought you Ski2Live and Live2Ski? With a handle like that doesn't it make sense assume that skiing would be a priority in your life?
  7. In the words of the great poet Pee Wee Herman... If you love Montage so much why don't you just marry it? Seriously Montage passes were less than $300. Not cheap enough?
  8. Mall of America
  9. If you're ever in Sedona Arizona hit up the Thai joint there. Amaze balls!
  10. Challenge glade (Happyland) at Jackson Frost catches that blow over from all sides. It's sort of an anomaly in that regard. Sleepy hollow at Blue is like that to a certain extent but not quite. Regardless the glades at Blue are usually gambling with your bases
  11. Same... Thats like having a new trail. Yes because that 30 inches we get annually will fill those right up. Who needs base repairs?
  12. Next time I'm flying into Denver then driving for hours again it's not going to be for Steamboat but for Crested Butte. Barb's reports have solidified my need to visit there. I liked SB but wasn't like holy shit I need to get back here. Granted it didn't snow either.
  13. I know it's utter bullshit (Utah gets pooped on as always) but its an obligatory reminder that ski season is coming. Ski mag resort rankings... https://www.skimag.com/tag/resort-guide-2017 https://www.skimag.com/ski-resort-life/ski-resort-guide-2017-best-east
  14. You should head back. They've expanded it a bit since the 90s (lookout mountain). Honestly for someone who loves vert I'm surprised you haven't skied WF more. Stowe has escaped me, unfortunately, over the years... mainly due to its distance so I can't compare. JFDan has been to both. My focus over the last few years is skiing west of the Mississippi but if I'm ski tripping within driving distance I can always be easily convinced to hit up Lake Placid.
  15. Granted I have skied more areas in the west than I have in the east (outside of PA). That said WF is still my favorite of my limited east coast (non PA) experience. Oh and I almost purchased furniture from an ADK furniture store in Keene Valley a few years ago. After reading this I'm kicking myself for not supporting them haha.
  16. Queue RideDelaware angry reply (and rightly so) explaining industry ticketing in 3...2..1...
  17. Congrats. See you on opening day.
  18. Huh? When did I stopped posting? Or are you even referring to me? Actually I'm not even sure why I'm asking.
  19. I like you already. Stick around
  20. I don't know about you but that new kitchen equipment really gets me stoked. You're probably right. Do they not see the irony in comparing it to Vermont then? And why people should rip them for doing so? I say this all the time. Cool place but their marketing is terrible.
  21. I need boots this year. Bad.
  22. Toast's fantasy football draft is tonight. Football means fall. Fall means RideDelaware will post about leaves. RideDelaware posting about leaves means ski season is coming. What are you all doing? For me it'll end a bunch of days at Blue. Last year's UT trip complete with Pats SB victory was f-ing sweet but I hear J Hole may be the hot spot this year. Perhaps it's time to make the pilgrimage? Probably getting my 4yo out for the first time this year as well. Should be a good season!
  23. for shadows... Much respect for these guys
  24. Solution. Migrate here full time.
