Renegade is probably the steepest thing there. Same pitch as maybe the falls though a little shorter and a lot narrower.

Shawnee caters to families, groups, beginners and they do it better than anyone else. People who are just looking for a place to rip should look elsewhere. I would never call Shawnee obscure though. There are a lot of good people there who do a very good job

You mean the official stenographer missed recording your trip to shawnee in the national archives? Shameful. [emoji12]

Oh Really? I used to work there so I've skied there once or 1,000,000 times

Guess the Elk cart wasn't an option for them. -

Left around 10. Missed opening bell so I guess I missed it. Saw Jeffs car but didn't see anyone on the snow -
2/21 afternoon...evening riders of the storm

This morning was fun but I'm sick of not being able to ski razors though no matter when I go. Challenge was a cluster because of it. Have fun if your going out during the storm. #FreeRazors -
8am sharp or 8:30, or 9 depending on how motivated I am. We got a new coffee maker with an automatic timer thingy. Freaking awesome. Usually gets me places 15 minutes earlier nowadays.

I'm sure they won't be doing the same.

I'm so sick of reading about the "old days" ... News flash. This place always sucked. It just sucks more now. There's a reason a lot of those people don't post here anymore. Edit stoked for Blue tomorrow with the pending snow.

Dude I honestly respect your right to live life however you choose. But referring to people as "parental pussies" and saying that older women are boring is generalizing and not cool. That's all. Not taking anything away from you homie so no need to justify anything here.
-
Holy shit that's it... Life mystery solved! "older women" (whatever constitutes older) are "boring" because they would rather not spend a Wednesday night singing "funky cold medina" in front of 15 other people and at a bar in the middle of nowhere filled with people taking "selfies" to post on social media for people who became "friends" because they walked past each other in a mall 13 years ago. Or maybe they realize that the 3 "likes" that they get for that photo of themselves wearing oversized dollar store sunglasses and Mardi Gras beads will not provide any for of gratification or meaning in their life.

I enjoy both mountains. They each offer something different. One doesn't always have to be better than the other. Blue works for me because I can ski at night after work.
-
To clarify, we both enjoy Jack Frost and don't think it's any better or worse than blue. I just thought it was funny that she referenced The Karate Kid when talking to one of her friends. No diss was intended at frost or people who ski there.

Pulling up the rear with an evening session. It's cold, not crowded. Snows good but not good enough to be on the greeners. Here with my kid who preaches about how much better Blue is than jfbb... According to her "frost is for the weak".

2/14-15 weekend roll call thread.

DO IT! It went up 19 bucks. That's nothing. Do it up bud. -
Nice Mess. If your wife skis take advantage of that. Ski trip with her every year. Next year take her out west... Offer to renew your vows at Loveland or something along those lines.

Not to bump this thread but I probably won't ski again until Tuesday and I'm sitting here watching Curious George's Spring Fever special and the kids and currently under its spell so I'll grace you with a variation of Doug's good, bad and ugly dealios. Really Good - Hanging out and skiing with with Barb! - powder in Christmas tree bowl and the chutes at the boat - amazing views at winter Park - the Steamboat steakhouse and the Irish joint in Winter Park - the cheap as hell Olympian pass / lodging deal.(window prices at $120 are insane). - great snow skiers right in Parsenns bowl and the trees below at Winter Park all the way down to the panorama lift. - Waffle maker at the Steamboat Inn. - Positive reactions to wearing a Tom Brady Jersey in Colorado. Good... - good snow overall despite how dry the west has been. - Weezer stoke on the way to Steamboat and the U2 playing from phillycore's phone (he's a closet fan) - snowing on Berthoud and Rabbit ear pass was good for stoke - Free hot chocolate at the base of Steamboat - The PA dude who liked my jacket in the panorama lift line. - The Steamboat local who gave us tips on the Morningside lift - Bluebird skiing each day - the lady working at the pizza joint at the Steamboat base with the female version of my name. Not so good.. - hiking to the top of Mt Werner at steamboat to ski what looked like untouched lines but was crud instead (totally my fault) - Phillycore's single ski ejection that travelled 100 yards down a steep chute nearly piercing both Dan and myself on the way down. - The rental car with 0 horsepower that could barely fit all of our shit - the drunk dude from Iowa with a cold, passing around a flask and coughing up a lung in the gondi at steamboat at 830 am If I think of more I'll post.

2/14-15 weekend roll call thread.

My entire house is sick. Plus I'm in no rush to get back on PA Hills after CO. I'm thinking Tuesday night. -
Sorry about the injury Root. Heal up quick bro.

Some. The best snow was up high. So that's where we stayed. There is so much to winter Park that I know I missed.

Final thoughts while waiting for the plane to board... I can't decide which mountain I like better. Steamboat or WP. I may actually be leaning WP. When I eventually take the kids out west. WP makes sense since the mountain is pretty mild with the exception of a few areas of course. I could bring my kid up to the bowl and she wouldn't have any issues. And the town is cool with plenty to do. Wanted Vazquez cirque but it was pretty bare. A patroller said it was crusty and not worth the 45 minute hike (they weren't running the cat.) Steamboats trees are sick we just didn't get the snow to do them justice. X-mas and the chutes held great snow though. Pretty amazing since it's been so dry. That whole area of the mountain is underrated overall. Not much in the way of groomers to give the legs a break at the boat. Was nice to actually get some of that in WP. Morningside was fun but again snow could've been better. The hike up then down alarm clock to morning side was Sierra cement. The hike back up then down the N side (no names etc) was straight powder. Like night and day. Overall a kick ass trip with the fellas. The Utah mountains (bird, solly) still rank up there for me but boat and WP aren't far behind in my book. Finally a huge huge HUGE thank you to Barb for her generosity. So much fun hanging out with you. Hope to visit / ski with you again soon! Thanks again!

Snow was good pretty much everywhere today (except for the trees) but especially up top. Vazquez Cirque opened with limited terrain and no cat access. Pics were taken in the bowl... Me and PC in Parsenn Bowl Yours truly Phillycore Me and Dan
