12/27...still empty..fast snow.
RidgeRacer replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
I'll second the sunsets at Blue and the $499 deal. Both are awesome. -
My daughter had a freebie for making honor roll at school and I went assuming that I could use a CBS local voucher without reading the fine print about it not being valid on holiday weekend (doh!) so I paid for 1 ticket at the window for 2 people... still a good deal. It definitely wasn't a ghost town but it definitely wasn't your normal holiday Saturday either.

Looks awesome... 39 days!

Decided to skip Blue this morning and instead head to JF with my daughter. Arrived around 915ish and met up with JfDan and phillycore at the quad. It was Day 1 for me at frost this season and pretty shocked at the amount of snow they have (more than I had anticipated). Pretty much the entire mountain with the exception of East. Conditions were really nice. Things softened up as the day went on. Phillycore and I demo'd each others skis at one point and JfDan was loving life on his new shreditors. Overall a pretty awesome day today. If East is open next weekend I may be back.

I heard that rumor also.

Yeah not sure what's going on over there. The entire width of main street is bumped and rutted up. If people start flying down it they're going to eat it bad. The fog is pretty thick too. Snow is actually pretty good. Unfortunately the rain has started.

Conditions are pretty good right now. Foggy as hell but nice.

There go my plans for skiing the 24th in the morning. Will be there later tonight however.

That you're a troll?

Unfortunately I have 2 kids with double ear infections so today was a no go for me. Did the recent snowmaking help? Where are they blowing? -
That looks fantastic. Nice work.

Frost is unique in its own right. You don't go to frost for the runs. You go for the off piste / elevator type stuff. If you're comparing frost to blue based on trails then that's not fair. What frost offers is something different all together. 600 vert isn't bad when you're skiing top to bottom trees.

Great news for people who like long sessions at Blue!!!

Split Rock charges a dollar each way. -

The cooler crowd will not be happy. They could care less about the food voucher. All they see is that $75 lift ticket and that'll probably turn a lot of them away which means phillycore will be extra busy with lessons this year. -
The ramp will cut about 10 minutes off my commute. The big thing about the ramp for me though is driving in the snow. Getting up the mountain in snow via maury road or 534 is brutal. The ramp means turnpike to home in the snow without issue.

So I just heard a gentleman, so impressed with Blue, provide the highest complement of all. He called it and I quote "up there with Elk". He went on to talk about the Vermont feel at elk. Shit has me seriously SMH..shaking my hermy

Definitely more of a "retro" crowd here today. Guess that's what you get midweek. I'm freaking jonesing for a NMDW run (nightmare to dream weaver).

No. Dan annoyed is us two debating on ski trip lodging. [emoji472] [emoji606]

Upper main street features gates although it appears that they are pulling them out now. Main Street is spring skiing central right now. Bumpers are loving it.

Coming to you from the coldest 6 pack in the not really the Poconos. On the way down I rocked out to ace of bass and abba (the fact that my keyboard prediction knew to enter "of bass" after "ace" is just downright boss. Actually I rocked out to pearl Jams lost dogs album which should come as no surprise to some. Anyway the snow is soft and really nice. Of course the downside to that is that usually means it's warm out... Which it is. Upper 30s warm which is better than 60s warm. The snow they started making on razors is gone [emoji29] Lazy to falls is fast and furious. Paradise is fun. Thin spots in home stretch are bad for stoke. Good base none the less. Luckily blue is all about that base.

I hope I am too but If I had to guess I'd say spring or summer. Mind=blown

I'll be back tomorrow morning / afternoon if anyone is around.

I'd be shocked if January happens.
