Neither are on the map anymore but both are still there. The elevator was overgrown with brush prior to last season but was cleared out and made skiable again. When you go, ski the trees to the right of one park and challenge for top to bottom tree runs (also not on the map but easily 2 of the best runs on the mt.) Have fun at Frost.

Sunshine, powder, comfortable temperatures and Phresheez. What more could you ask for? Great day at the Mt. today.
-
Wilmington should be open. Sugar valley is hit or miss depending on conditions and snow fall. Lookout below (the jewel of lookout mt.) may or may not be depending on conditions. If you go right after a big dump you may be in luck. If its icy or hardpack I doubt it.

I swear if this winter is like last winter where jersey and philly get all the snow...I'm moving. Rant over. Back to your regularly scheduled roll call.
-
The glades once again made me happy! As did conditions everywhere else. Great day.
-
Glad you liked it. Did you sample any of the trees?
-
What the hell is the biggest slacker? Whatever it is, I'm it! Now I'm extra motivated. Watch out guys.
-
Sounds awesome...Tuscarora to Mohawk or Iroquois are the best runs on the Mt.
-
You can't go to WF expecting the slides to be open. You go to ski everything else. If they are open then you're in luck and normally that's later in the season. Have fun. Whiteface is awesome.
-
I agree. Sunday would be perfect...looking that way right now.
-
That was probably me with Dan. Dan actually yelled for you at one point. I think you were on t bolt. Conditions were once again great. One park glade is becoming one of my favorite runs on the mt.
-
Great snow today. Packed powder all over the Mt. with some loose snow in the trees - really nice. They did a great job in the trees by One park. The glade is now skiable top to bottom, in years past you head to bail out onto Exhibition or One Park.
-
Great job with this app. I love it.

I'm pretty sure I've seen one at Elk...and every NE PA ski resort actually. I often think that when I read Toast posts.

Here are some better pics (not attachments) from Squaw. Skiing down Siberia Bowl Steep chutes coming off of Sun Bowl Looking up at the Palisades and Siberia The Palisades from Siberia Bowl View from Sun Bowl near Squaw Peak Cliff on GS Bowl (I think) View of KT from Snow King Riding up the Squaw Creek chair

This app is bad ass. It tells you what trails you skied, altitude min and max, calculates your vert, tells you your top speeds. You even earn awards for passing certain speed thresholds. If you use the "play" button, it shows your little avatar guy skiing the trails you skiied that day over an arial map.

eat somewhere...maybe the place we're at will have a pool. really want to go skiing though.
-
A jeff...they tried to do exactly that but we figured we can get an early start tomorrow from Denver and still get home at a decent time.
-
Flew into San Fran. Then SF to reno. Home was supposed to be reno to Denver earlier this morning then Denver to Newark. Unfortunately I couldn't find a direct flight to reno from Newark or philly Skiing would have probably sucked today. It was raining pretty hard. The snow is supposedly coming this week though.
-
It was a downpour this morning in the lower elevations...supposedly snow in the higher. The roads around truckee were sketchy...anyway flight to Denver was delayed. Spending the night there...awesome.
-
The tahoe locals (Erin08 and timeless) could give you the low down but just based on what I've seen...there's a resort called Mt rose that can easily be seen from reno. From what I understand that's the local area for reno residents I think but its a pretty big mt. The others closest to reno are Squaw and alpine...each are about an hour. I also saw signs for a smaller area called pioneer.
-
I thought about it but since I was skiing solo it may have been a stupid move.
-
When I get home I'll put them on Photobucket. All I have right now is the phone.
-
First time out west...no (been to AZ / grand canyon a few times). first time skiing out west...yes. unfortunately I didn't get to ski powder...I'm not complaining. No altitude issues at all. Highest peak is around 9k.
-
Just skied the sun bowl from the peak all the way down. There's plenty of crud on sun but so much easier to navigate since it's not ad steep as GS. It was actually really fun. I took to red.dog to snow king and skied resort run jumped into some trees down to the Squaw creek lift. Snow king alone is like a mountain in Vermont....winding trails and lots of trees. I was gonna call it a day but resort run was so good I'm skiing it again. Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed reading these posts. Squaw completely humbled me. This place is so steep and so huge. I thought about heading over to alpine meadows which is 10 minutes away but Squaw deserves more than 1 day...even with granite chief not open. I'll post more pics later...
