You know I love Jf, but I'm not really sure how snow gods come into play with rain and fog. Just sayin. -

I'll take it. -
Just got back. Dan it actually got better as the day went on. I had little ridge racer with me who did amazing for her first day of the season,. The snow got sugary with increased traffic as the day wore on. Anyway just a few observations since this was my first day on East Mt this season. Challenge glade seems to officially be known as Happy Land now with the new trail sign. I also noticed a new sign marking the run through the trees that takes you from Happy Land to River Shot called "Marks Way". Theres also a new sign under the East Mt lift about half way down in the trees called "Docs Way". The Little Cliff Huck is no more. The boulder that stood there a at one time is now in pieces. It looks like they took a stick of dynomite to it. Once snow covered will be skiable however. The new and improved Risk It looks sweet. There's a new trail sign that reads "dare to Risk it?" that stands in front of a narrow pathway which eventually leads to to the cliff / tree run. Once winter finally gets here east mt will be lots of fun.

RidgeRacer replied to oldtimeskier's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
If you're going for the skiing wait till Saturday or go later in the day. If you're going to tailgate then have at it. -
Glad to hear that the guns were on by closing. R2 you must have been in Heaven today with the fast snow. Thunderbolt and Challenge were nice today.
-
Snow was soft today. - See you tomorrow.

Should be extra busy with the eagles out of the playoffs.

http://www.skinet.co...pid=enews121911 #1: Alta, Utah - Last year, Little Cottonwood Canyon's legendary resort got hammered with 724 inches of cold smoke. #2: Wolf Creek, Colorado - Wolf Creek averages 465 inches a year: that's about 165 inches more than any other resort in Colorado. #3: Powder Mountain, Utah - Powder Mountain is aptly named: the Utah resort averages over 500" a season. #4: Snowbird, Utah - Little Cottonwood Canyon's other resort, outside of Salt Lake City, averages 500 inches a season. In the 2010-2011 season, they picked up 783 inches. #5: Grand Targhee, Wyoming - Jackson's little sister, often overshadowed by nearby Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, averages over 50 inches more than JHMR a season. #6: Brighton, Utah - Another snowy Utah resort. Who knew. #7: Solitude, Utah - Big Cottonwood Canyon's resorts get just as hammered as its more famous sisters, Alta and Snowbird. Solitude averages 500" a season. #8: Steamboat, Colorado - Colorado's "champagne powder" is fluffy, dry, and cold. It accumulates at an average rate of 354 inches a year #9: Snowmass, Colorado - The Colorado resort averages 300 inches a year. #10: Deer Valley, Utah - This Park City resort averages 300" a year.

Anybody heading to jack frost today (12/18)
RidgeRacer replied to vinnyv11's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
They blew a ton over night. Exhibition had pretty large whales on it and they started blowing on Thunderbolt this morning. Snow was much better in the trees (Happy Land and One Park glade) - still not skiable top to bottom yet. Snow was good - man made chalk is always nice. Oh and it was nice meeting you VinnyV. -
Dan the man coming down Demattes.

Back from Day 1 at Jackson Frost. Met JFDan and Phillycore at the bottom of the quad after a fast run down Dematte's. Dan, Phillycore and I lapped Demattes and Challenge for the next few hours. Snow turned sugary as the day went on. No ice or cookies to be found. After lunch I switched from my PE's to Phillycore's Nick Greener's and we lappped challege and Demattes for the the next few hours. Today was lots of fun an hopefully the start of a great season.

Actually let it be known that I coined "trashketball". When it becomes a worldwide sensation, I want credit for coming up with the name.

Skied for about 2 hours making laps on Love Park trail. Snow conditions are really nice - man made packed powder which turned sugary as the night went on. Snow was very fast. I was hoping for Boulder Park but it was not to be - it looked close though. Pics to follow.
