  1. Thanks for the condition report...Couldn't make it today will be there tomorrow early.
  2. I'll be there tomorrow morning early (as in 9:30ish) for what will likely be my last day of the season at Jack Frost (can't get there Sat or Sunday...will probably be at Boulder Sat night). Anyone else gonna be at Frost tomm to celebrate the last mid-week ski day at Frost for the season?
  3. I wasn't big on the quarter share thing. I wouldn't mind owning one outright and living in it, besides even in the offseason there's plenty to do in the area. Jim Thorpe and the Lehigh Gorge are 20 minutes away and the App. trail is just up the mountain.
  4. Thanks for the heads up Toast...IDK with no spring fling coupon, I'll suck it up for the day. Not happy about it though.
  5. What's up with those condos? I remember they had those flyers all over the lodges saying the condos and all this other stuff was coming. Is that still happening?
  6. damn...CB 's closed as well. It's not even raining that hard out and it looks like it's clearing too...weak.
  7. Nice TR toast...like the pics especially the first one.
  8. What??? I had fully planned on skiing tommorrow rain or shine. I wonder if CB will be open
  9. Wish I could but I'm visiting family for Easter.
  10. It turns my stomach to think how all of that snow will probably go to waste...what makes matters worse is that it may actually snow Tuesday night too.
  11. uhh..you were lapping East Mt. @ 12:30 ...had I known I would have looked for you. We must have crossed paths all day long.
  12. Still too early
  13. Hey all...just back from an absolutely perfect day at JF...no crowds, blue sky and fast snow. Today might rank up there as one of my better late March days ever. Anyway on to the TR. I got to the lot around 11pm, booted up and hit Thunderbolt. The quad was closed so I rode the East Mt lift all day. The snow when I got there was a fast and smooth packed / groomed granular surface although the wind was blowing uphill which slowed me down a bit. Made my way over to East to do laps on Floyds and River Shot. Floyds was the best it's been since early in the season...not one patch of ice on the trail which is unusual for Floyd's. Next I checked out the Elevator which was extremely fun to ski today and still has a ton of snow in it. I ended up skiing the Lightning / River Shot / Elevator / back onto River Shot combo a number of times today. The only problem with that was fighting the thorn bushes when making my way back onto River Shot The wind also died down which meant it was easier to get speed as the day went on. I made my way over to Challenege and skied that once but I was having to much fun on East today and stayed there pretty much the rest of the day. I didn't ski anything west of Thunderbolt today. It's extremely sad to think that they will be closing on Sunday with the amount and quality of snow thats left on that hill. I may go into JF withdrawl after Sunday. But it is what it is I guess. Hopefully I'll grab 2 or 3 more days at Frost before they close for the season. Still lots of snow on East Mt...
  14. Bellayre has $15 lit tix on 4-11. Should still be good at that time. I'm off to Frost in a few minutes I'll let you all know how it is.
  15. I just saw that...kinda knew it was coming but still kinda bummed to see it official on the site.
  16. RidgeRacer

    Is it...

They should do the CB thing for a free pass....that would be nice.
  17. Seriously...I'm amazed how many local skiers / riders are not on this forum or any forum for that matter.
  18. The open terrain policy is what seperates JF from the others for me. If it wasn't for that it probably couldn't compare to Blue Elk CB Sno etc. As long as they have that JF will remain my home mt.
  19. Well I decided to bypass my beloved Jack Frost today to take advantage of CB's VERY generous offer for a free ticket with another mt. season pass. I got to the lot around 11...booted up, hit the welcome center and got my ticket. Rode the quad and made my first run down Asp. The snow was soft and became softer as the day went on...still very fast though. After another run on the east side I made my way over to the Stevenson lift via Pocono Raceway which was great for carving wide turns. I hit Cliffhanger about 3 times which was really fast and very icy in spots where the snow was scraped off, Nile Mile, then over to Pharaoh. I forgot what a nice trail Pharoah was...kinda like The Nile Mile but faster with more pitch. I headed back over to the Sullivan express and skied Margies, The Hump, The Birches down to Laurel Glade, and Big Pocono Run. The Rocket looked like it had really nice bumps on it but it was closed for whatever reason. Hit Pocono Raceway again then made my way back to Cliffhanger and Pharoah and skied those a number of times before calling it a day. Today was a lot of fun. I think Jack Frost may have the better snow right about now but CB has lots of snow and a huge base in certain spots. Plus it was really nice to ride high speed lifts for a change. I may be back again next week to take advantage of the freebie and hopefully CB will do this again next year...it's a pretty sweet deal. Cliffhanger 3-13-08 Still lots of snow
  20. I'm on it...possibly even tommorrow
  21. Hey guys... Just back from a fun day at JF...I got to the lot around 11:00am to snow flurries falling. Made my first run through the One Park trees and back out to one park since there wasn't enough snow to cross over onto exhibition. After that I hit Thunderbolt then over to east. The snow when I got there was a semi fast / soft cord...really fun. That changed pretty dramatically as the day went on. The falling snow became fairly heavy for about an hour....nothing major but it was enough to create a coating on top of the existing base which really slowed things up and made the snow sticky. I hit the usuals like River Shot then Floyds and since the snow was soft I hit the Elevator three times during the day...there's still plenty of snow on it and it was easy to carve. Also hit Challenege and the outter edge of the trees to skiers right still has a good bit of snow in there but further into the glade there were rocks, logs and all sorts of things exposed so I headed back onto Challenge to finish the run. I made my way over to the lodge for lunch, then did two more runs. After around 1pm the snow became real sticky and real slow and I hit the road. All in all it was a very nice March afternoon at Jack Frost. Oh and a special shout out goes to the lady in the food court for hooking me up with a tub for my fries and copius amounts of cheese.
  22. How 'bout Thurs?
  23. Isn't it nice not waking up at the crack of dawn What time are you going tomm?
  24. Bigdaddyk opens the place everyday. I don't get there until around 11ish mid-week. I missed today because I had a dentist appointment But I'll be back tomm and Thurs. Right now I'm pretty certain that I'll be getting a mid-week only pass next season.
