Ok now you know that's asking too much

Wow...even more people...I may have to sit that one out.

Nice TR's guys...I'll just echo everyone else by saying it was the crazy busy. I saw the jam going down to 940 and I couldn't believe my eyes. Good for JFBB. I'm sure they made a killing even at 9.33 a ticket.

I'm in sales / customer service

I really don't have a TR for today... I was there a grand total of 30 minutes...I took 4 runs and left because it was so crowded. I got there around 11 and there was a traffic jam on the access road just to get to the parking area. I couldn't get there any earlier (because I know that's coming ) I parked in lot 11...which is near Snow Ridge Village. It took me about 15 minutes just to walk from my car to the snow. When I finally started to ski it was just way too crowded for me. The snow was very icy in the middle of the trails. This may be the busiest I ever saw a local ski area. On the way down the access road the traffic jam was nearly all the way down to the traffic light on 940

Not sure yet...the wife has to work which means I'm on baby sitting detail. If that changes I may be there.

I work late afternoons

I'll take that as a compliment I wish, then I'd have 60 days in like Grilled Steeze and BigdaddyK.
-
Well I consider myself old at 30.
-
I should be there for a few hours during the day.

Yeah he's an old head like us

No the camera phone usually comes out only when conditions are camera phone worthy. I wasn't feeling it today... more pics are coming though. Actually I was thinking that. On weekends I could take advantage of Sno's special (which I actually would like to do at some point this season) or ski Blue on Sunday nights for cheap.
-
I just dont get as motivated to ski on weekends knowing it'll be crowded. I'm wondering if I buy a mid week only if I could use my 4 freebies on the weekends if it does snow. I'll have to ask. Regardless I'm not sure yet but a midweek pass seems very likely right about now.

Hey all...just back from another day at JF. I got there late (even for me) today and pulled into an fairly empty lot at 12:00, got my ticket and hit the snow. I love mid week at JF...I'm actually cosidering a mid week only pass next season. Skiing with huge crowds just isn't the same. Anyway back to the TR. I decided to make my first run through the One Park trees onto Exhibition. The trees were icy and hard thanks to the rain and then freezing temps. Pretty much anything "off piste" was that way today so I didn't spend much time off the trails. Exhibition however had a carvable hardpack and cord surface. After Exhibition I made my way through the "gateway" over to East and stayed there for pretty much the next few hours since the Abstract chair was closed. All of East is a hardpacked / frozen corduroy surface with some ice in spots, predominantly in the middle of the trails. Floyds has mini ice bumps forming to the skier's right of the trail. Ended with a very nice run on Challenege but had to skate back over to the East Mt lift to get back up. Although today was not my favorite surface, it was easy to stay in high speed mode and carve GS turns on pretty much all of the trails which was nice. The best part about today was the lack of people. Hopefully a little snowmaking tonight will bring back some of that nice man made powder and hopefully some natural for the WMMR day on Friday.

Lol...definitely no offense taken Ski. The pics didn't come out all that great. They did look better on my phone's screen after I took them.

Today was so nice I had to break out the camera phone...blue sky, great weather, perfect conditions and no crowds. It was a perfect ski day. I pulled into a quiet parking lot around 11:00am after what may have been the busiest weekend of the season. I found a decent spot booted up and hit the mt. Needless to say the snow was in excellent shape. I decided to make my first run down Lehigh then over to the "gateway" to East Mt. Made a number of runs on River Shot and skied off the right side of the last headwall into the gully in between Floyds and River Shot (The Elevator area) a number of times which is a lot of fun when the snow is good. I just hung out there for a bit River Shot from the lift Skier's right of River Shot It was then over to Floyds which was a sheet of ice. Of course the sides of the trails were the place to be to avoid skidding out. I then made my way over to Challenge and the glade which was realy nice. Entering the glade from the midway point on Challenge is the way to go. The best snow in the glade is down there all the way to the bottom to the East Mt. lift. I found that it was best to ski through the little ditch that's been carved out due to all the skiers/riders and to make turns on top of it. After Challenge I finished up on River Shot and the rest of East and called it a day. Challenge Glade Another great day at JF.

I think it was a few seasons ago, Blue had a Billboard that showed the arial shot of the Mt. and I that that one was pretty cool.
-
I think the Elk billboard on the extension...north bound before the Lehigh tunnel reads "Ski PA's Best"....at least it did a few weeks ago when I saw it. New trails a Elk would be sweet. There's a lot a room there. They could even have two peaks if they expanded east...dont know who owns all of that land though.

Nice TR Rideordie7. JF abd BB were both packed today although there was still great snow and powder stashes to be found at both mts. The Challenge glade was scraped off in the middle but still lots of powder closer to the trees. After JF closed I also moved to BB and had a really fun time on snowdrift, Mittl-Weg, Draufganger (sp?) and those tree lines along the summit down to Bunny's Elbow. There's nothing like the snow left ungroomed right after a storm...even though it was busy, that means the ungroomed stuff gets bumpy and it's really fun to plow through. Another nice day at JFBB.
-
The glade is awesome...glad you had fun!!! I cant wait for tomorrow.
-
Believe me if I could be there at 8 I would... I have to wait for him to get here. I still may try to swing out early before he gets here then head back out later. Sometimes life can get in the way of skiing though

Me and my brother will be there tomm. We plan on hitting Frost around 1ish....skiing till close then moving to Boulder if we still feel like skiing.

That snow is so nice in that last photo.

Just back from another nice day at Jack Frost. I pulled into the lot at 11:30 and found a fairly decent spot in lot 1. Got my ticket and headed for Thunderbolt. Last nights snowmaking made a huge difference and the conditions varied depending on which trails they blew on. Thunderbolt had a nice packed powder surface and really fun to carve. I headed for East. River Shot got blitzed with snow last night and the conditions were top notch .... It had a nice layer of light ungroomed powder on top which meant serious cold smoke when plowing through it. It was cool watching people plow through it from the lift. I skied Floyd's only once because River Shot was that good. Plus I almost skidded out on an icy patch on Floyds. I decided to check out the Challenge and the glade since it was also hit hard with the snow guns. Conditions were pretty much perfect on the trail with fresh snow and cord. I wouldn't recommend entering the glade from the top as it was a bit icy but if you enter the glade half way down challenge the snow in there was a smooth powdery surface and could easily be skied down to the East Mt. lift which I did a few times. I did hit a rock that was barely exposed at the end of the run so be careful. My bases have been taking a serious beating this winter. Anyway....another great day at Jack Frost with great conditions all around and hopfully some snow tomorrow!

Yeah that's definitely the long way...Poconoceancity's way is the quickest way to Blue from the Lake Harmony area.
