  1. Thanks man. Blue looks like winter wonderland your shots. Any new trails opened yet?
  2. The trees near challenge, One Park and Thunderbolt were skiable for most of last year. Most of the time it was half decent too. Mad Tree Glade and other parts on East that don't get crazy amounts of blow over snow, not so much. lol... Jordan's the real Jack Frost connoisseur. We'll have to fly him in from CO.

    TR Opening Day

Hopefully..those are the two best trails IMO
  4. Supposedly they thinned out the trees between One Park and Exhibition that should now take you from the summit all the way down to the lift which I'm looking forward to skiing this year. Normally you'd have to jump out half way down.
  5. It is...but you have to sacrifice a little during ski season
  6. exactly. I wouldn't necessarily mind it if they opened Boulder early mid-week until Frost opens.
  7. Phillycore you beat me to it...Anyway I really hope they don't make a habit of opening Frost 3 weeks after Boulder every year. I need my Jack Frost fix.

    TR Opening Day

Sounds awesome. I was definitely thinking about it but Blue's 50% off ticket kinda sealed the deal. I normally like to head up there when they get at least Mohawk and Iroquois opened. Is Elk charging full price right now?

    Elk expansion?

If they ever expanded that way it would really be like skiing in Vermont without the drive. but I can't see that happening. We can dream though.
  10. Got there around 4pm to a nice packed powder surface and no snow guns...a bit hardpack on the middle of the trails. They had "ungroomed" signs above Mittl-weg and Draufganger. Although they're still listed as closed on the report. Plenty of folks were skiing / riding those two trails. I skied Mittl-Weg and it wasn't that bad just a bit thin with some grass and maybe a rock here or there. I didn't want to destroy my bases this early in the season so I headed back to Boulder then Love Park to finish....Good conditions and good coverage on what is listed as open on the snow report. Can't wait for Frost to open though.
  11. qft By the way I pulled this from the blog on JFBB's site.... "Tonight we will be lighting up at Jack Frost. We will be running 24/7 weather permitting and plan to open up in early December. Our goal is to open with beginner through expert terrain to include East Mountain."
  12. Last night was definitely fun. Visibility was a big issue for me though with the guns. Definitely not complaining, still a great time. I got there around 4:30 took about 3 or 4 runs then ran into Jordan on the lift, who it was great to meet and ski with. After about 2 hours or so I hit the road. The snow is really nice. There's definitely plenty of good coverage and base....no need for the beaters. The only rocks I noticed were to skiers far right on Snowdrift, which really isn't officially open yet.....The worst part of last night though, finding out projected opening for JF is 12-13!!!
  13. Definitely not a bad Day1 of the season. The snow was good. Had a few runs to choose from. I'll take it.
  14. Jack Frost....Whats that?
  15. Sounds much better for Saturday...I'm definitely going around 4ish
  16. It may be tough to repeat a Nov 10th opening like last year. I still think by T Giving there will be skiing at JFBB. BTW I'm waiting to see their trail maps uploaded to the site. The trail maps say coming soon which lead me to believe they're adding stuff (new marked glades at Frost?, new park at BB?)
  17. Dude if ever I see you at JF remind me to buy you a beer or something. You're an inspiration. I'm a few few minutes from JFBB. There's about 4 inches of HEAVY snow out there now. And still falling. All area schools are closed today. I don't think anyone expected this. I'll have to snap a few pics.
  18. uhhh...don't know about that.
  19. Is there still a Jack Frost? Looking at that site you wouldn't think so. I know it's still in the works and all but it's essentially a Big Boulder site anyway.
  20. How was it Sat / Sun? I was too busy to think this weekend let alone go skiing...my season is done.
  21. A small lodge / sundeck at the bottom isn't a bad idea actually. Regarding the Pole Cats, if they were pulling them from River Shot to send to Mt Snow, I'd feel the same way but I really don't care what they do with tubing.
  22. Wow, you're persistant. I don't think he's lying about his status at JF; and I don't think it's strange behavior at all to not want to post your name on an internet message board...regardless of his position. He did state that if you want more info to send him a PM. I just hope now that he won't be hesitatnt to provide us with inside info here in the future without fear of coming under questioning.
  23. I wanted to head back there this winter but there never seemed to be enough snow.
  24. The East mt lift is the least busy of all the lifts there. I don't think a HSQ will affect snow quality too much...Again other mountains with not much more vert have them. Of course I may just be a bit selfish since I ski there mid week mostly I know about the one huck just right of Risk it...Thats easy to see. Past that there are all of those bushes and stuff. I never ventured through there. Is there anything behind those bushes? Dude I need your tour of JF.
