  1. Leaving my house bout 7ish. Phillywhipped formally Phillycore will not be joining us. . If someone from Delco wants to join me, post by the AM so we can meet. Finndog will be meeting us up there.
  2. I am heading out for dinner in a bit. Either post here or PM me. We can meet at the Newtown Square Shopping Center.
  3. Anyone going up Sunday? Phillycore? wanna head up early like to get off the slopes by 12ish if you want to get up for first tracks?
  4. Not sure about "flying", but I was just laying railroad tracks.
  5. LOL, how could you see anything?
  6. Went last night..couldn't tell where the snow ended and the fog began. Kudos to JFBB, I don't ever rememebr a Pocono area being open THIS early. For the couple of days I have skied at these resorts over the past two seasons, this new ownership is good.
  7. I think I am gonna head up tonight. Blue Subaru jacket, Lime Kryptons Oakley M-frames w/ yellow lenses.
  8. Ended up not going. I didn't have any of my skis here to ski (other than some unmounted 999's, not the ski for today) and I didn't feel right skiing other peoples skis w/o their permission. I havea couple pair of Magfires here for people. I have my SL's coming back from VT on Tuesday so I have something here to ski in case I decide to head up next weekend.
  9. A serious "maybe"
  10. I thought the Atomic B5 was the original "One Ski Quiver"? At least thats what their ad said .
  11. Phil sniffs bait....and swims away.
  12. I agree Method. I am not paying for "futures".
  13. I skied it back in the 70's and early 80's when it was Timber Hill, at that point it was a poma and 2 T=bars. I htink the vert is 450
  14. Skiing is more than just a business, it is a service industry, it is not a product you jsut pull off of a shelf. You are dealing with people who WANT to spend money on the sport. Pushing your customer base away is not the way too be successful, simple, "Don't shit where you eat". We may not pay for day tickets, but we did eat there and they got $2,000/yr from my family in passes the past two seasons. Diehards also bring other people along with them that spend money. I guess Blue should completely dismiss your opinion too? Based on what?
  15. Need to narrow it down to ONE trail, that is the deffinition of a signature..ONE trail C-back--Margies Delight (the main black trail that has been there forever, only tail in PA to host a pro (or WC, I forgot, one of the two, Its been so long) mogul comp) Elk--Tunkhannock Roundtop--Gunbarrel
  16. Both are great mountains. Jackson has the more difficult terrain, Steamboat gets better snow. US Ski Team Members come from Steamboat, US Freeski Memebrs come from Jackson Hole. Steamboat has great slopeside coldos, Jackson, you will prolly be in town. BBQ is a push. Bumps and trees..Steamboat. Steeps and cliffs..Jackson I will go back to both places.
  17. Stopped by yesterday....NOTHING good..a LOT of crap. If you bring something of substance...you should do well. 12 year old Volant Supercarves 180+ cm with Quad 7's are NOT 150.00 skis..I am not sure what some of these people think.
  18. I did real well there last year, nothing to sell this year though. They do a very good job, might take a run down tomorrow.
  19. There is on on Philly CL keyword: Volvo
  20. Why would I want to get a season pass locally if I couldn't use it? With my schedule and being 2 hours from the Poc's don't see myself skiing any more days than I do now. I'm am curious about your definition of "posing".
  21. I found these in my garage, my niece left them. Bindings are inc. Free to good home. If not gone w/in next two weeks, Goodwill. Come pick em up or paypal me 15 to ship them.
  22. My race skis will never see a stone, but a stone can be controlled to the type of texture that is in the base. A good shop will ask you what you expect and what your intentions are with the ski, type of snow (or ice in the Poconos) you plan on skiing. This is one of the reasons I got rid of my Montana, it could get a flat base but had no fine tuning controls. Besides, I should have been clearer belt vs. stone grind.
  23. Which is it? A ski skied in the Pocono's lasts only 1-2 days? And I am getting grief because I will send mine to a machine every 20 days or so? The machine gives the foundation for a good tune. I think we need some clarification here. A high end tuning machine will take very little of the bases and get the edges to specified bevels with a diamond stone vs. shaving off with files. I will wax and debur pretty much after every day on the snow. I will use a diamond vs. file. Waxing is done after everyday on snow.
  24. I will debur, polish and wax (almost) every night after a day on the snow..it is very relaxing, plus I like the smell of Ptex and wax with my scotch. I will get a serious grind after 20 days or so..thats if I even keep a ski that long . But a good machine tune from NSW gets my skis back to factory specs. As far as hating the Poc's, the two subjects are mutually exclusive.
