No worries about busting on me, I am just trying to protect someone from ruining skis because of inexperience and being told from people who have no vested interest in his gear saying sure...go ahead. Between a vice, quality files, bevel shims, diamond stones, expect to put out $200.00-250.00 before you even learn how to use them. Is ti rocket science? no, but it is still a craft. You can't get more than 1-2 days out of a tune? I know the ice in the Pocono's is hard, I didn't realize that it was harder that steel . I for one am not light on my skis and don't care if I hit rocks in the woods of Mad River Glen or in the woods at Killington (these are ski areas in Vermont for some of you ). I will drop my skis off for a good machine tune every 20 days but I will debur regularly. I do wax every other day on hte snow, but I don't think thats what we are talking about. But there is no way that someone who has absolutely no or even minimal training can get a bevel to a consistant .5 degree for a 170-180cm ski. LOL< EDIT here.. He is talking a snowboard and not skis? Go for it man, it won't matter

C'mon, are you serious? Those are quite the blanket statements You are saying someone who has absolutely no experience tuning a ski can do a better job than someone who has been trained and has access to the best tools available. If you take Atomicmans advise, I suggest you start on his skis. After 20 years of tuning myself and having my own Montana wet belt sander to do the grunt work. I started dropping off my skis at Northern Ski Works for the right bevels. i do my own waxing, but a $100K machine run by the best people does one helluva job. Don't get me wrong, there are hacks out there, but a quality shop is worth the $30-40.00.

These are sold.

The are good for someone smaller

I got these for my father in law, now he decided he wants something else (I need to keep him happy). They were used for a couple of demo's last year and are in very good shape. There was a gouge in the base that was repaired. It is visible, but cannot be felt to the touch. Bindings are fully adjustable. The cheapest I have seen these as leftovers is $450.00. I need $350.00 shipped.

Such a deal at Sierra SKi, a reputable shop.. http://shop.sierrasnowboard.com/browse.cfm/2,493.html

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/spo/384681112.html Unfortunatly, I don't need them and I don't have the time to go check em out. Quite frankly, if I DID, I would buy them and bring to a swap and double my $$. Sounds like the $$ is for a good cause.

I think as much as anything, they got tired of being confused with 'Big Sky'. But I agree, Hellroaring Basin should have been the name.
-
Ski the U.P.!
-
No, because they were drilled as demos, they were void of warranty. They ski fine, just cosmetic. They will be my rock skis for this year.

You know me...same ole same ole
-
I have done it in a day trip. but no need for me any more with a place to stay up there. Getting the lights and a tail wind for me is 6 hours from NTS. My gear is already up there, but my season is done.
-
Skied Okemo today, was puking snow. Kton tomorrow should be even better
-
Okemo has expanded their season to 4/22. If you look at their website, they have a "flex ticket" that is an awesome deal anywhere from 25-50% off every day for only 99.00. I will be getting them for 07-08
-
Ak is some awesome skiing. I will go back at some point. It is the complete opposite of Okemo.
-
Okemo has long been one of my guilty pleasures of a mountain, not all that hard, but well maintained and fun. Outrage, Supernova and Forest Bump are 3 very good glades. With ASC changing and no more pass, I will be skiing Okemo that much more. Plus it is my wifes and In laws favorite place to ski too.

I will be heading to K on Sunday and might ski either there on Monday or Mt. Snow.
-
This will be my first time at Blue...this century! Dress as a Gaper? Hmmmm. I might go "retro".
-
Wow, it could be quite the turn out. For lil ole me?
-
I think it was the 90's since I skied there. I will try and get Finn to join us.
-
Ooops, I guess I am just so excited. I got my days mixed up. Yeah, 25th....Sunday...Sunday..Sunday. If someoen can change the title, i would appreciate it.
-
I have to pay my debt to society. I should be there about 8:30-9ish. Have cameras ready. Me at Blue is rarer than a Bigfoot siting on the Vegas strip.
-
Sunday is looking good, sorry to say. I will be having a crow omelet.
-
I doubt I will be there that early, but I will be parking down bottom. I will be there more like 9ish. Red shell, grey pants, slime Kryptons, Elan 888's (and Titan Nines). Finndog might be with me.
