    Nestors Ski Swap

Sold my Volkls at Ski-Bum's swap. I am happy. All the gear I wanted to unload this year is gone.
  3. tools needed: Proper jig..$100.00 Vermont Calibrater: $1,000.00 ($300.00 or so to get it calibrated every year) Special drill bits, $20.00 Certification from Manufacturer $75.00 Drill: $50.00 Glue (not for sniffing (during work hours)):$2.00 All these costs are approximates, but I am sure you get the idea. As far as mounting your own bindings (or someone elses) falls under the catagory, if you have to ask, you shouldn't be doing it. It is fairly simple work, if you have the proper tools and training (just look at some of the "grunts" working in the back rooms of ski shops ;))
  4. Buying them there as compared to buying them on line shouldn't be more than 10-20 diff. If you can't afford 20.00 for your kids safety, you shouldn't be skiing. . Want another opinion? Show this thread to your kids mother, see what she thinks.
  5. The Volants are gone, still have the Volkl 724 Pro's but they now have S912's, so the price is now $225.00

    CB R.I.P

I remember that storm, we were there. We skied EVERYWHERE! all of the lift lines, anyplace we could link turns. A lot of positives, but a lot of negatives, they took all the personality out of the place and homoginized it. It said the alpine slide opened in 72..I thought it was mopre like 79-80?
  7. SAC has NEW S912's for 80.00, better move fast though.
  8. I ordered up some fatties yesterday. So my quiver is as follows: On Piste: Atomic Metron M11 B5/Neox 412 Off Piste (East):Blizzard Titan 9/Salomon S912 Off Piste (West): K2 Seth Vicious/Salomon S912 Rock Skis: Volkl 712 Pro/Salomon S900 Alium

    Salomon SPK

Unlike the old Thermoflex or Intuition liners, the new ID liners come pre molded so you can get a good idea of the fit before you buy.

    Salomon SPK

The Rampage is a great boot, but hte stock liner is lacking. My suggestion is to keep your Rampages and upgrade to the Dalbello ID liner. It is much better than the regular liner.
  11. The public trans could get snowed out, stay on the mountain. Most hotels have a shuttle to pick you up from the airport so no rental is needed. My choice would be to stay at Snowbird, huge hotel and you will get first tracks.

    Salomon SPK

If you are looking for a park specific boot, the Dalbello Krypton Rampage should be on your list.

  14. just bought a new Yakima box for the car today too.
  15. The Volants are 2 seasons old and have about 15 days on them. They were my son's, he used them for 1 season, thenn I got him some Metrons and they were not used at all last year. The S900's are abotu 3 seasons old. The 724 Pro's are 2-3 seasons old. I have about 3 days on them. I bought them on a whim in Maine last year, they were Demo's at a shop ip there but are in very good condition. The 897's are about 6 years old, but have few days on them, I took them off an old pair of defunct Volant Epic Supers. With that said.... 1 Pair of Volant Super's 180 cm. no bindings, but I could offer some. $25.00 1 Pair of Volant Vertex Epic 168 cm. no bindings, but I could offer some. $25.00 Both skis have about 2-3 seasons on them and are in good condition. Both pair are drilled for Salomon Driver bindings. Volants are also very good on "hard snow", the kind that is in the Poconos.
  16. I ski a small shell for a snugger more responsive fit, but maybe that was your attempt at humor. Finn has a Blue pass. I am interested what the new owners are doing to do about the snowcone makers they call snow blowers there. If they start actually blowing snow and not ice crystals, I might grace you with a showing.
  17. So far I got.... 07 Atomic M11 B5' 06 Elan 999 74 The Ski (retro) Salomon 897 Salomon S912 Salomon S912 pilots Sold... The Ski 162 Lightning Sweet Dad's Volant Vertex To be sold... Volkl 724 Pro Volant Platinums Yet to be bought... a mid 80mm waisted ski, prolly a Supercharger Thats all I can think of at the moment.

    Ski Mania Sale

I picked up some pants and fell in love with a Gore-tex Salomon jacket that I didn't pull the trigger on. I glanced at gear, but wasn't really in the market for anything they sold.
  19. 2 pair.... 1. Volkl 724 Pro's w/ Salomon 897's 170 cm 77 waisted ski. 200.00 B. Volant Platinums w/ Salomon S900's 170 cm 73 waisted ski. 200.00 Both pair are mounted for a 305mm shell. I will remount for perspective buyer for no charge, but you would need to get the ski torqued at a shop.
  20. I think this is awesome. Anything to help promote the ski industry is a big plus. As soon as they get the place up and running with the new lifts and guns, I will be there.
  21. a place like Turn of the River hostile near Kton might be a good choice too. That late in hte year Hostiles are a great choice...no one is there. Fingers crossed on my end, I am gonna try and kit Kton that weekend with Finndog.
