a BC ski with an 88 waist? thats lame
  7. suprised this hasnt been discussed yet. the number are impressive. opening in dec 08. its gonna be huge 51 million dollars 400 tons of steel 2.73 miles 1,362 ft high 11 minute ride 28 cabins 2050 people capacity
  8. i dont work for bc obviously. but you do have to have some frame in the center to actually support the snow. it will essentially be built the same way a street ramp would, this will just have snow on it. you can see in the back, hes framing all of them
  9. ^killer jib academy that is
  10. its meant to be a QP not a wallride, my bad. but still making them both that way is easier i would just like a wall ride to be not vertical. when he said skate style QP i assumed he meant snow would be shaped 3/4 of the way up to the lip, with the last few inches of the QP left bare UHWM. then have actual coping on top. that still allows you to carve up and air but having the coping/top section be solid and not snow, means youll always have a steady height with no chunks taken out or anything. for those of you that have seen "the freshtival" back in 06 i think, their wallride was dope. the frame/transition was built out of wood (like what andy is doing) and the snow was basically just pushed up and took shape of the frame.
  11. http://www.temple.edu/snowboardingclub/main.html you get some pretty good deals i didnt know about. they went to tremblant last year. 10% off Buckman's Ski Shop purchases $5 board waxing & tuning Bear Creek Lift Tickets, cheaper than group rates Discounted subscriptions to Snowboarder or Powder Magazine
  12. ^^thats how people need to start building wallrides if they want them to be vertical. theyre sooooo much easier to maintain.
  13. are you really? thats awesome a little while ago there was a movie premier in boston. the kids puttin it on did a great job of advertising, hyping it up, and just plain gettin the word out. it was an all skier movie, no boarders. the day of the event brought so many kids to the theater. some people even flew in, just to see a movie. there is no doubt a demand for skiers, if they put on an event and the turnout is low...thats their fault. they didnt do a good enough job of showing they can provide something skiers want (whether it be a good park setup for a contest or a kickass movie). or nobody simply heard the event was going to happen. if they do things right, the event will be a success, thats almost guaranteed. they really just dont want to, and theyve already proved that.
  14. i guess its just demand? its crazy up here. theres a Giant food store and then 3 miles down the road is an area developed for a future weis market. the houses per farm land debate is still growing. contractors are winning.
  15. guess my area is way different. we got a few 1/4 acre houses selling in the 1.5's the houses around me went up 200% in value in just 4 years.
  16. k2 kandi 134 kids boards. 30 bucks. good condition.
  17. ^yea it does
  18. 400 million isnt that big of a deal if the houses are in the 1-2 mill anyway oh 400 mill for the houses, hotel, conference unit stuff, everything? that seems kinda normal i guess.
  19. dude, ive been thinking. we need to bring in a greyhound. easton coach (2 miles from my house) is selling some used buses.
  20. is that stuff still there? was that their 5 year plan? we can take my car up there one day and tow that shit out if you want. i got a bungee cord.
  21. havent seen any boarders rock the g10mx, but thats what i got.
  22. thank you trevor.
  23. a better lip for the double barrel would be nice. jumps are tough cause out of all the long straight sections we have, none of them are steep. -rail garden up top like last year, that was good. -put a right side hip on the first turn into a double jump line maybe. two options per hit (big/small) -next to the jump line put a single (or double if we have space) line of rails/boxes. -into the wall ride turn -two option rail/box, left and right side -keep the big hit where it is just work on the landing. thats all i got. we gonna open with a park this year?
  24. like so. from echo
  25. thats generally what i was i was saying when i said it should be rainbow. set up lengthwise down the trail. the rainbow would just allow it to be setup easier. three different lines: left c, right c, or butter box in the middle with variations of transfers and shit. theres at least 3 different entry angles on that type of feature. you cant use the same lip that enters the center as the lip for the c boxes. so a rainbow effect would allow you to blend the lips easier for each entry angle regardless of what i think im sure bc knows what theyre doing more than i do. so itll be sick.
