Elk still has the guns on... Gotta love the webcam... They have laid down some serious white... I don't know what the rest of the trails they want to open with look like, but if they look like the base, Wednesday is probably possible...
There really aren't many great places to stay close by... Look at some of my trip reports for last spring... I stayed in a Days Inn in Wilkes Barre, and on a weekend the room was like $60 with AAA... It was about a 25 minute drive and was located in an area where there were some restaurants and bars... If your looking to save money, it wasn't bad...
They can lay down some serious snow in a short period... However, with the marginal temps coming, and it being a Monday, I would doubt they will have New terrain... I could be proved wrong...
Boulder opened at 3 because it was their weekday opening schedule then... Weekends early season have typically been 12... Bell is t2b I believe... Not that greatest terrain, but good for their snowmaking system... I'm looking forward to seeing Root and Jeff's TRs...
It really depends on the snow conditions and depth on whether it should be groomed... Freshly blown snow really isn't the greatest due to it's high water content this time of the year... It needs to be pushed out, allowed to drain, and then groomed over... When you don't push it out and it freezes up, and then push it out, you get you those huge death cookies... Hunter will turn it around... I'd expect pretty good conditions by next weekend for sure...
Looks like they expanded the snowmaking downward. Looks like they are about 2/3 of the way down the mountain... Temps aren't forecasted to drop too low, so I think t2b Sunday...
They are making snow now on the upper mountain... They won't be top to bottom unless temps drop... I would bet uploading/downloading on Saturday with t2b Sunday...
