  1. I'm heading North on Monday... I can't wait any longer...
  2. I think you got it all...
  3. Good way to approach it... I knew you talked about r2r, but I wasn't sure if you were going up for that, or if you were just going to ski... Either way, Killington is likely to have some of the most terrain open in NE...
  4. I'll know in a couple days, but I believe SR gives employees unrestricted Gold New England Passes... Not that I would go on peak or holidays unless I was working, but it would be nice to have that option...
  5. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, Dec 10 is right in the ballpark as to when Bear usually opens... That wouldn't be bad persay lol
  6. It's possible... SR had 40 by the 9th last year, but Killington by comparison had like 35, and they have many more segments... KMart could open just killington peak and Snowdon and boast close to 45 trails... They really need to get to Skye to open up more legit cruisers...
  7. Yeah, things are definitely starting to open up... The early season players (SR, KMart, and Loon) are really starting to expand terrain... Looks like real winter will settle in after Monday, and I am so ready...
  8. Usually everyone wants their home mountain to open ASAP... Am I missing something?
  9. Oh yeah, we've heard this all before... I've never really gotten in on the elevation contours blah blah blah... Doesn't mean I don't believe you, I've just never gotten in depth with it... That being said, I'll take a continuous 950 rather than a mid mountain road block any day... If they want to call it 1,000, Im not going to complain... Still fun as hell... Looks like decent cold weather may set in after Monday... Finally... Hopefully there will be something rideable around here by then... They had a massive terrain expansion yesterday, but killington is still a tough sell until they get another peak or so open... It will be fun, but they will just fill in the terrain on Snowdon and Killington Peak which just won't be spread out...
  10. Elk definitely has some of the best elevation in the pokes and endless mtn regions... If they had an upper mountain setup, they could open pretty early lol
  11. I need a new pair of boots also, but I'll probably wait until I get to work to see if I can snag a pair cheaper... It's also not as hard for us one plankers... Just try on a bunch of boots and pick the ones that feel right... If you want a real snug form fitting feel, you can always get the ones you can form at home in the oven... I'm sure there are snowboard boot fitters out there, but they aren't as necessary as ski boot fitters in the whole scheme of things...
  12. You have to buy the Peaks Pass at Mount Snow? Now that they own Wildcat, Attitash, Mount Snow, and JFBB, it's a helluva deal... But dumb as shit if you have to go all the way to Vermont to buy it...
  13. I hadn't heard for sure if it went under, but anything adding something to that area would be nice... Belleayre needs something for the economy for sure...
  14. Strong statement lol From what I remember, agreed...
  15. They restrict season passes for employees? Douchebaggery...
  16. I hope you got in on that... I feel like I remember you getting mad pow on opening day last year too?
  17. I think most of the hate was on the bad PR from the financials etc... I haven't heard too much hate on the mountain itself...
  18. It actually doesn't get as much upslope either, which is what really knocks down on snowfall... Nor Easters are only part of the battle... The Green Mountains get more upslope and Nor Easters, so they are definitely the sweet spot. Sunday River is closer to the coast, but farther away from the Great Lakes, and barely receives any lake effect... Plattekill is awesome... No two ways around it... Basically Elk Mountain with more steeps, no rules, and about 100 inches more snowfall a year...
  19. I forget what the resort is called, but the access road is there still and quite visible. Signage is still there and the trails are still decently maintained. I have heard that the state bought it and is planning to develop the outside property in conjunction with a private developer and will connect it with a lift and trails to Bell. When they had the 09 Feb superstorm Bell was taking guided cat tours over there. Heard it was fun...
  20. I think I remember him randomly posting one or two things, but no flaming...
  21. Wasn't he an instructor at JFBB or something?
  22. Are you officially retracting your membership from the Stowe fan club? I haven't even gotten there yet...
  23. Is he still up at JFBB?
  24. I highly doubt you will forsake a Stowe trip... That's like your spot...
  25. At least your mascot isn't a goofy animated guy named "Bob"... You get a more serious moose, and I'll consider that a victory...
