  1. Elk's prices are usually equal to most of the other resorts in the Poconos for mid-season daily lift tickets, but they rarely offer early and late season rates or discounted tickets elsewhere. Sometimes they will offer a late season deal where you buy a lift ticket and then return it before the end of season for a $15 discount. They did not do this last year...
  2. Seasonal rental? You may still be able to score some of last years model stuff pretty cheap...
  3. Just picked up another pair of mittens and some wall mount snowboard racks... Still waiting for the word from SR to make a decision on pants...
  4. Why the change?
  5. You Bear Creeking it this year?
  6. I know that the chances are that Blue would NEVER participate in something like this, but has anyone actually tried to put something together?
  7. There was nothing better than the steady line of traffic heading north... Now we only have to worry about tourists on the weekends... We will see weekend business for 6 more weeks and then we should be seeing snowmaking... Unofficial start of fall!!!
  8. If he actually deleted Doug's stupid posts, We wouldn't ever see any of Doug's posts...
  9. That would be a NEPA record for sure... Springs has averaged over 200" the past couple years... I'm hoping for slightly above average!!!
  10. I don't recall it being offensive, but I can't remember what it was... The government must be censoring PASR lol
  11. I just checked the archives... Sunday River tested their snowmaking equipment October 9, 2010... Killington started snowmaking in earnest for an opening October 13, 2010... Just over a month and a week away... And for those that don't know, I am not complaining... Yet!!!
  12. It would also be different if their early season off the main street double was more prolonged like at K-Mart... They run the NRT for like 3 weeks now before they open to the bottom... Sometimes Blue gets there 2 or 3 days later... I feel like a hsq would be absolutely overkill... Half the days or more they don't run the right double...
  13. If things go the way they are looking now, I'll be at SR... I haven't looked at accommodations yet, so I don't know if I have any spare beds, but if I pass the course and get hired, I'll start looking ASAP... On a different note, do any of you find it weird that we haven't really seen any resorts announce their improvements yet? We usually see that in late July to mid August... But nothing into September? Huge buzzkill...
  14. Right now I can think of 3-4 off piste stashes... One is flat ish, but has an awesome drop, and another has a 5 foot boulder huck... I'm getting anxious already!!!
  15. Absolutely, but from the valley, and certainly from north Jersey, Belleayre is definitely day trippable...
  16. I drove inland last night to watch a movie, and the car thermometer was reading 58... Had to turn the heat on...
  17. Also, if your like Steeze and want to rack off some quick runs, Belleayre has a high speed quad and a decent vibe going on... They have decent snowmaking, and similar snowfall to Plattekill... They also have a bunch of discounts you can find all over the place... The runout at the bottom is flat, but its usually fun nonetheless...
  18. Possible, but not even I am that optimistic lol
  19. I'd ride that on Nov 9... I'm sure that most of the guys who did would love to do it again...
  20. Well, unfortunately for me, the certification I will be receiving, is not universally accepted by all resorts (which I knew). Most resorts accept EMT or OEC. I have no time for EMT, and there are no OEC classes where I live. I am looking at several places. Loon, Sugarloaf, Sunday River, Sugarbush, and KMart all accept WFR (although KMart requires OEC past WFR and will enroll you in a course to become certified). I am looking right now at Sunday River and possibly Sugarbush. Sunday River seems to have more people my age, and it is centrally located to a bunch of other good mountains. Not to mention, I love the place. If I score a job up there, then I will probably take a winter OEC course so I can be certified at more places next year.
  21. Maybe I should set up a Moe-tel for side trips if I score a job in New England...
  22. BBs clutch early season snowmaking and opening gets them a bit more respect from me...
  23. My thermostat was registering 70 when I woke up, but it was chilly enough that I didn't want to unwrap and get out of bed...
  24. Sounds like it's shaping up to be a PASR stoketoberfest lol
