Did Belleayre make any snow during this last cold stretch? They are having budget issues and just shrank their full time workforce from 55 full time to 10ish, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had waited... I just can't seem to get any confirmation either way... Hunter waited... I was surprised considering a Thanksgiving opening would be a bonus holiday for them and usually sees decent skier visits...

It also depends on when your going... If you going before X-Mas, you can score a pretty decent deal on a ski and stay package at a condo... Probably cost you about $75 to $80 a night for lift and lodging... However, whether that is a better deal than a cheap hotel and a discounted lift ticket depends on when they start hiking the prices... With this cold front coming through, I would expect a pretty quick price hike very shortly after Thanksgiving...

I was going to take a short trip up to K-Mart today and tomorrow while I was in the valley, but it just wasn't worth it... Looks like there may be some snow in the forecast for black friday, so if your free, go get it... I have family obligations... However, a good cold front looks like it is coming through afterward, so hopefully I can still get up there the week of December 6th...

I'm not normally a hijacker, but I cannot stand those leashes... Things look ridiculous... I'm sure there are two different modes of thought (no leash vs leash), and I have to say that I wouldn't put a leash on my kid (although I am so far away from having a kid that could change), but I have seen skiers better than I am at 3-4 years old... I understand its for control and speed, but shouldn't constant supervision at that age do the same thing? Plus, I have trouble believing they could out ski you with that little body mass lol Just to clarify, I have no problem with safety... And it appears to be alot safer, both to the child and other skiers and riders... It just looks so funny that we are tethering our children lol

Mount Snow has some decent tree runs off the Northface Triple? Most of the rest is pretty boring IMO...

I know, they are the only resort I have ever seen making snow in the rain... But seriously, if you were going to make up a mountain to live at, why would you choose Bromley when you have Stratton, Okemo, Killington right in that area... Just wondering...

Honestly, that would be really cool, considering CB also wants to do the same thing, but how much of a draw can a lodging and lift package be in NEPA? Most of the prices i have seen are comparable to the skillz or VT... Both of which are better and probably not much farther of a drive... Unless your primarily coming from Philly...

Well yeah, but with PA, it would be easier to make some decent assumptions... My guess is Elk and Blue Knob are always dueling for it...

I believe Mississippi was the last state to do away with that not so many years ago... Here is a link to one of the sites I found Justo... I follow this fairly closely, and it sounds like we lost 3 states to the feds last year... Laws By State According to that site, Mississippi still allows you to drink and drive lol

I have heard of it also, but most likely it is an urban legend... From what I have been told is that as long as you are on private property and not driving, you shouldn't be held liable for a DUI... However, I have heard of people being hammered and sleeping in the driver's seat with the car on for heat and getting a DUI... That is definitely possible if parked on the street... I live in Delaware, a state with no open container law outside of the driver's seat... So get in the backseat and crack a brew... No harm done...
