I honestly don't remember the last time they actually hit their projected opening... Maybe 3 years ago? Unless I am mistaken, the trail in the Pic of the Day looks like the one they were making snow on... If thats the case, it doesn't look like any of the snow they made last week stuck around... Its a shame, but whats a couple thousand more dollars added onto the top of the NY state budget deficit?

When I was 19 I planned a trip to SR and a trip to K Mart when I was 20... Neither of them gave me any trouble and I paid with my own credit card... Additionally, nobody asked for a security deposit... Hotels IMO are a little more unpredictable... I have only once gotten rejected at a hotel after I was 18, and that was at the Holiday Inn (?) Right off exit 299 at camelback... I stayed there when I was 18 no questions no problems asked... I went back at 19 and they said company policy was only to give rooms to people over 20... Went to the Marriot (?) Next door and they told me their policy is 21, which I actually believe more than the bullshit I just came from... However, it was late and the girl at the front desk was about my age and booked me anyway... I'm with Dime though... 99.99% of time you can get a hotel, and worst case a condo with an extra security deposit returned when your post check out room inspection is complete...

I'm guessing you didn't get into good shape this summer? Isn't that your goal every year?

You guys heading up to Killington may be in luck... Last post from KZone said that there had been 4-6 up top with a little sleet and snow... Rain down low, but looks like the snowmaking trails have been spared the worst of it... With only another 1/4 to 1/2 inch forecasted for the night, and Killington never getting above 35 today, it should still be good Sunday, especially after Saturday snowmaking...

Very true... Would be nice though... I guess we will take it one week at a time...

I mean yes, I understand that, but looking at the atmospheric models, it looks like there will be some warm air coming up in 7 days... Who knows how long it will last, but I am relatively comfortable stating that it is not going to change that much in that time and we will see a warmup for a couple days next week... Shouldn't do much damage with all the snow they have...

Regardless of whether or not they are wasting taxpayer money, they have started blowing snow... Looks like they got a little down last night... I'm surprised there isn't more, but their system is nowhere near as strong as most systems we see in the early season game... Hopefully the rain doesn't take too much of it away...

Weather took a turn for the worse over the next couple days and the long term doesn't look great after day 7... That being said, you should definitely have some good snow on Sunday with round the clock snowmaking Saturday and Sunday... Lucky bastards...

Belleayre started blowing this morning... From the looks of their pic of the day I would say they didnt get started until pretty early this morning and it doesnt appear that they blew on any trails, just the base of the triple there (lift 7?)... Looks like tonight will be a good night... See if they cant make enough to hold into next week when hopefully some better temps will return...

Production tonight will be phenomenal... Production tomorrow night looks marginal... However, NOAA has been altering forecasts here recently and it looks like elevation of 3600' and up could get straight white stuff out of this storm that is approaching... The weather models are changing a little every couple hours, so keep an eye out for it...

How many 55s do you run into? Turnpike is 65 the whole way up, 90% of 287 is 65, 87 is 65... Maybe the small section after you get off the thruway into VT is 55, but then most of VT 7 is 65 too...

First off, we don't use that word here... Second, it was $65 because it was top to bottom... You may not like the bottom section, but being able to have 1700' of vert instead of 5-600' is a huge selling point... However, I would pay any price below full price this early in the season...

Looks like this storm coming up the coast will stay on the coast for the most part... Doesn't look like the steady NCP will reach the Green Mountains... Should be a hell of a good day on Sunday... Especially since the forecasts seem to be trending toward round the clock snowmaking Saturday and Sunday... With it dipping into the mid to lower teens tonight there should be plenty of snow... I wonder if they will turn any of the lower mountain guns on? Up till this point they could have, but they have remained quiet...

I would love to make it up there but I don't think it is going to happen until Nov. 20... Lots of stuff going on and I want to have my plate clear for the real winter season... I would wholeheartedly have to agree... There are very few times at CB compared to blue where I could not at all tell the snow conditions right in front of me... Never had a bad night there...

Since I'm already a Burton slut I may stick with some Burton pants... Anybody have any hints on sizing... I usually wear a 32x32 jean... Burton M pants are 32"-34" waist with a 31" inseam... Does that sound about right? The small with 30"-32" waist and 30" inseam may be too small? I usually wear Billabong pants, so I have no idea how Burtons will fit...

I was wondering if any of you had any idea how the hell a ski house and its subsequent shares works? I have no interest in being in one, but I see lots of inquiries on other message boards looking for members and have no idea what is going on with these... Can anyone shed some light?

I'm really looking for something that is fairly waterproof and is fleece lined... I always wear under armour underneath, but I really want to avoid more layers than that...

Looks like temperatures will be pretty good starting this weekend at the top of Killington Peak... I don't know if it will be good enough to get top to bottom, but I would assume they may be able to get the Glades Triple running Saturday if they had a decent base down... And it looks like the River may be able to blow enough to keep their 2 trails open... Lets hope this forecast trend continues...

I don't know how far apart their lights are, but I remember when I first went to Blue 6 years ago I felt like there were a ton of dark spots... Could have just been me... More lights with Yellow would suit me just fine...

While we will all be able to tell there is a warm spell coming through, it looks like the cold temps will arrive Friday night and stay for the foreseeable future... Looks like you dedicated opening day K folks may get the first full weekend in November...
