Unfortunately I see this being a trend... With most money being in the real estate business, those mountains without a ton of development potential will have a tough time staying solvent with just ski revenue, especially during bad snow seasons... I guess its better to lose them to a corporation than lose them forever?

I am in the market for a new set of pants... Preferably I would like something thats at least 10,000MM/10,000G or 10,000MM/5,000G at least with fleece lining for colder days... Anybody know of a good pair? Gore-Tex optional...

Thats a great pass deal, and hopefully there are some PASR members in school up there to take advantage of it... If Mt Snow could team up with a PA mountain, I bet a ton of people would latch onto it...

I snowboarded last year at Loveland and Keystone on Nov 9 and 10... It wasn't bad... Like early season east coast with less terrain for their snowmaking window... I'm not looking for perfection, but when I hit up SR 2 years ago Mon-Wed before T-Day they had 27 trails on 3 peaks open... Well worth the trip, especially with early season prices... I'm just saying that if they dont get a good window soon, we are definitely not getting anything that good in 22 days, assuming a Nov 1 good start date...

It would be a pretty insane ride if they dragged one of those ski patrol sleds behind a 4 wheeler...

Did they ever come out with a list of winter improvements or are we still operating off the same as last year? Since it looks like I won't be getting a condo in VT, I may be hitting some of the closer PA mountains more often...

This weather up and down shit is killing me... I honestly don't care if the actual weather trends with the long term averages, but this marginally cool followed by unseasonal springlike temps is killing me... I really hope this cold front comes through at the end of the month... I'd love to get some legit pre-thanksgiving boarding in somewhere, even if I have to go to Maine... Not that I wouldn't... If it were worth it...

With K-Mart, SR, A Basin, and Loveland all making snow, and this October snow falling, I would say the snow has arrived... The best is yet to come!!!

Glades seem to be gaining popularity, but it will be rare to actually ride them... I know it will never happen at blue, and I don't know how it has worked for them, but what's that mountain in the NE that blows snow even on its gladed terrain? Pats Peak?

Thats huge stoke... They've put alot of snow down in the past 2 nights... I wonder what the high temps are there? I know they are considerable lower than what most of the weather agencies report... I would say they have about a 3rd of the snow they want... With all that traffic the first couple weeks they need a deep base... Can't wait for that snowmaking to spread eastward... Looks like most of the weather I have seen for the northeast shows the temps trending down with the seasonal averages... Soon...

Loveland seems to have started the guns up in earnest overnight. Sounds like temps in the mountains there are in the mid 40's during the day and mid 20s at night. Guns are shut off now, but I saw a webcam snapshot showing snowmaking all the way to the base this morning. Looks like our long range temps are starting to dip... Snowmaking in VT in 2 weeks?

I agree with the moose, but I don't think it is something he can change or Sno will consider changing... Maybe its their way of saying they want to cater to the youth market?
