  1. Antman probably picked the right weekend waiting for the weekend of the 17th. Looks like there will be plenty of snowmaking next week with very little freeze thaw. Conditions should be decent then.
  2. It’s going to be dicey. Snowmaking probably won’t return until tomorrow night for resorts at that low of an elevation.
  3. VTMark? Is he still lurking? Whatever happened to FreeSki?
  4. Nice report Barb. I’m surprised there was even a 5 minute wait. Are lots of schools off for the day after Election Day? Are you allowed to wear your boots around the hotel Steeze? Or do they have signs that say “no ski boots”?
  5. I bet it is low. Although, they could also blow the Nile Mile side first, or at least a trail or two, and have ski in ski out by Thanksgiving. However, all of the revenue streams work together, regardless of how much actually comes from skiing. I wonder what hotel occupancy is? It is a massive hotel...
  6. I’ve got one tree, a dwarf maple, and I also don’t care about my lawn...
  7. Temps take a drastic turn for the better starting Friday night in New England. Most big resorts without set openings should be open Friday the 16th...
  8. Camelback has a better climate than Blue, but they never make a push into November except for the occasional terrain park in the tubing park or the tubing park itself. It still amazes me that they don’t push for it to get a jumpstart on filling the hotel for the season...
  9. You got an office Shadows? Congrats. Moving on up?
  10. Completely agree. I have a couple pairs of dress slacks with only a left rear pocket, and it feels incredibly awkward...
  11. The Mountain Collective is the most confusing pass out there. Lots of limited days. Definitely read the fine print...
  12. I’m right there with you. I feel naked without the trinity...
  13. If you make it up to the Bush, PM me...
  14. I can appreciate people listening to music, but I prefer to hear my surroundings. I also can’t leave the phone in the car when I’m in VT because I usually have some type of business to attend to.
  15. Taking the pictures is the toughest part. I take a shot of whatever I think looks cool, but it does become a hassle taking the phone out all the time. That’s why GSS just posts paragraphs.
  16. Looks like she’s trying to give me a run for my money in terms of quality trip reports...
  17. I’ll have to check out their trail map. I didn’t know they had a setup that made it possible to download.
  18. I wouldn’t want a winter without natural snow, but I would rather have snowboarding with no snow off the trail than no snowboarding at all...
  19. That’s a common misconception. If you’re talking about going to Stowe, it’s only 45 minutes to an hour further, and you can hit up both Attitash and Wildcat back to back...
  20. Hunter can be a madhouse on weekends, but if you can make a couple weekdays to Hunter and then have the ability to hit Mount Snow, Wildcat, and Attitash, then I would say $400 is worth it. Plus you’ve got JFBB in your backyard.
  21. Next week looks like a bust for snowmaking. This weekend, despite being opening weekend, looks like it will be the better weekend for trail count and snow conditions.
  22. Just a plain blue jacket. Sorry we didn’t meet up, but if you’re ever in the Sugarbush area this winter, send me a PM before you go.
  23. I may not get out again until the week before Thanksgiving, so I’ll take it when I can get it, hiking be damned.
  24. SallyCat wanted to wait out the snow guns, but that’s a catch 22. With borderline temps like that, it would have hardened up. It was fun. It’s all about mindset, and I was in the right one.
  25. Not at all. I had patrol training this weekend, so it worked out that we could do it on the way.
