Everything posted by Ride Delaware ?

  1. I snagged a couple. Just in case. Glad to see you back Moe.
  2. I thought you didn't go anymore because they don't open t2b?
  3. I couldn't imagine selling my gear. I'd rather it get outdated and rust in a corner or attic. Looks like it's going out to sea, so I think you'll be fine. The ocean always acts as a great insulator for us. It keeps it cooler when it's hot and keeps it warmer when it's cold. However, the humidity is always 100% and blocks whatever temperature benefits we get. The hike was good, but it was hot and humid up there. One chilly night, but most of it was mid 80's during the day and mid 60's at night.
  4. It's still hot as balls. We get a couple seasonal days here this weekend, then we are back to the upper 80s... No real break in sight...
  5. JFSkiDan, how are the leaves doing up there in the Pokes? Mad colors?
  6. "I've always wanted to make it rain"
  7. I thought it was one of your most entertaining segments... Just one for old times sake...
  8. I either request a banning or a new video blog segment...
  9. Pouring it's ass off here in MA at the Hemlocks Shelter. Last day of hiking and pickup is tomorrow. Floating around on my sleeping pad in my tent...
  10. No leaves changing yet. If they are, it's from drought. Found this article by TWC that looks encouraging though: https://weather.com/forecast/national/news/fall-temperature-forecast-september-november
  11. Those look amazing Toast. I've never had luck with them. What's your secret?
  12. I'm hoping this year is my year to get a day in October at K-Mart, but Accuweather long range (yes, mostly BS) is saying it won't cool down substantially until mid-November, so I guess only time will tell.
  13. I have no problem when they are considered a nuisance animal. I've heard squirrel stew is good. I've eaten muskrat. Not so good. I'd do it to protect my blueberry bushes...
  14. Wait, what? GSS advocating for high speed everything everywhere? Shocker...
  15. Time to take out your .22 and say hello. Enjoralas, that's impressive. Way to go farm to table. If I ever move out of my development and out to where I have more land, I would like to expand my offerings, but I don't know if it will be as intense as yours.
  16. I've never been to Jackson, but whenever GSS and AJeff go, it sounds like a shitshow...
  17. Vail is not only buying up resorts left and right, but they seem to be growing them in a financially prudent way. Their stock is through the roof and their acquisitions seem to be well financed. Doesn't seem like much of a threat for a balloon payment to submarine them. I remember when Camelback had free parking my freshman and sophomore years of college. I think they instituted pay parking sometime around my graduation. I just parked a lot further back.
  18. I'm sure it's like everything and depends on the scale of the operation. I definitely put more into my blueberry bushes than I get out. However, if production gets to where it should be, I should be able to equal the cost of buying it.
  19. We had a couple warm weeks, but I think weather has mostly been seasonal. Temps look excellent for backpacking in a week.
  20. Really depends on what they classify as the Northeast. Sustained cold in PA during late November is what we are used to seeing historically. Worst case, New England is a week or two behind.
  21. http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/2016-us-fall-forecast-warmth-in-northeast-drought-wildfires-in-west/59089880
  22. Did you plant them on purpose? I've never had luck with the ones that grew from the random seeds I threw out...
  23. Blueberries are easy bushes to maintain. Basically fix the PH in the ground, mulch the bushes, water the bushes, fertilize 2-3 times a year, and trim each fall after the 3rd year.
  24. Looks great enjoralas. If I ate a lot of fresh veggies I would love to have a garden like that. I'm definitely more a fruit guy. Do you can for winter? My blueberry season is coming to an end. I've got 14 healthy plants and 1 plant that will likely die by next year. I'll replace it when the time comes. I was able to bring in about 6 pints of berries this year. It's not a lot considering some of the plants are nearly 6 years old, but considering I only got around a pint last year, it was a considerable step up. I have maybe a handful of berries left to pick on two bushes. Growth season precedes and follows the fruiting season, so I have spread more Holly Tone to facilitate growth. I am also considering trimming out some of the older growth so that the plant can concentrate on newer more vibrant growth. I'm quite encouraged by this years haul, so I'm expecting twice that next year. I have 4 or 5 large berry plants and then some small/medium berry plants. These are what I picked this past week. You can see the difference.
  25. No disagreement there. However, if it isn't posted, the argument is harder to make in court. I know plenty of people who have gotten off on that little technicality.
