  1. I'm buying my dad some new bindings for some new decks he bought awhile back and hasn't mounted yet. I'm looking at the Marker Gryphon's, and the ski is 90 mm underfoot. Anybody have any suggestions on brake size? I think they have 90 mm and 100 mm...
  2. Solid foot up here. Dense ish snow but not too wet. Got upper OrganGrinder today. Got skied off late and some big bumps developed. Overall, a very good day.
  3. Storm is sweet up here at the Bush. Limited terrain, but lower OGs bumps were getting really good by the end of the day. Fresh guns on Jester were real dry. Only snowmaking above Super Bravo. Upper Grinder may be good to go by Saturday depending on production.
  4. My connection there still says they are good to go this year with lots of good stuff happening. All he cares about is skiing, so I know it isn't just PR. Who knows...
  5. 12" + in the MRV with a couple hours yet to go... Going to be a humdinger!!!
  6. If they have the snowmaking system going full bore and have the guns dried out, it can be a blast. Patrol is real liberal about closed terrain early season and most of the time they don't even rope off the trail. They put a little sign that says closed beside it. Should say open for poaching. Unfortunately, the clientele is mostly dickish and the crowds descend en mass. Since there is only the HBK route or Belt Parkway off the top, it becomes an icy hell on the top 3rd until you get to where the trails fan out. However, if I were jonesing hard enough, I would still go.
  7. I'd give PASR's their own parking lot area closest to the lift...
  8. At least they didn't have a pipe explode...
  9. How did their production end up looking?
  10. JLaw, any upslope potential on the back of this Sun/Mon storm in New England?
  11. That sucks... Lodge deck looks nice
  12. Early start on the snowmaking. Should be some decent coverage in the AM. Who's hiking it?
  13. Best place to check for up to date info is KillingtonZone. Right now Killington is estimating being t2b tomorrow around mid day. It might be earlier or one of their patented "we recommend you ride the NRT back to the top and take the walkway, but if you want to risk it, you can ski to the bottom" lines. I'll be there Monday and I fully expect t2b groomed terrain. I wouldn't hold out hope for groomed terrain tomorrow.
  14. Definitely stoked to ride Mon-Thurs...
  15. You going to Mt. Mik tomorrow GSS?
  16. They operated it for a couple years, but the infrastructure is supposedly owned by the state and they didn't want to put out for the upgrades. The above article sounded like it was reverting back to state operational control.
  17. I haven't been to Stratton, but I have been to Bromley. Barb hit the nail on the head when she said it all ends in the same place, and most of the terrain is covered by the high speed lift. Didn't see many tree runs when I went. I think I actually have a TR in the "other mountains" thread from 3-4 years ago. Maybe not. Terrain was fun for awhile but got boring quick. Most runs come together at the bottom for the runouts a la Blue, especially the ones under the HSQ. If you want to save an hour drive and want intermediate cruisers, check out Windham. It wasn't my favorite, but it has nice facilities, nice infrastructure, nice spread out lifts, and isn't as rundown as Bell.
  18. Horse popped open a bag of veggie sticks when I was there and got his noms on. Sika deer came strolling through right after. Very cool. I'm heading up Sunday. Can't wait...
  19. That's great news. I've heard it has good terrain for the area.
  20. Holly?
  21. Ride Delaware ?

    New

To the right of Iriquois and left of Delaware and down off Mohican...
  22. Maybe even enough to justify that hotel and water park. They know when they are going to start back up on that thing?
  23. Looks like a resurface for Killington and SR tonight before lots of nothing until Wednesday. Killington says they can get GN open to the bottom of the NRT for tomorrow. That's believable. SR says they are aiming for t2b. That's unbelievable based on knowledge from firsthand reports of friends. Have a good pair of rock skis. SL says they are opening t2b tomorrow or Sunday. With their recent snowmaking upgrades and northern temps, that is believable. Would have been laughable a couple years ago.
  24. I agree with Schif, GSS, and Jeff. I love going bell to bell on groomers, and I typically try to get out for first chair (even if I often fail), but I definitely go for fun. When I'm tired and a risk to myself, even on a powder day, I've learned to hang it up. I'd rather live to ride another day.
  25. The bridge isn't out again is it?
